Yakone's wife was a woman from the Northern Water Tribe and the mother of Noatak and Tarrlok. According to her youngest son, she was never aware of Yakone's dark past or the fact that he taught their children bloodbending.[1]
After Yakone's escape from Republic City and subsequent assumption of a new identity, this Northern Water Tribe woman met him at a small village, shortly after which she fell deeply in love and married the man. Before long, she gave birth to two children, Noatak and Tarrlok. Unbeknownst to her, both children were trained by their father in the art of bloodbending; she was merely told that they were on hunting trips. A few days after Noatak ran away in reaction to a violent confrontation with his father, Yakone and Tarrlok returned home, and she was wrongfully informed that Noatak ran away and likely died in a storm. The loss of her first-born son weighed heavily upon her and she was never emotionally the same after that.[1]
She loved her family very much, and was described by her youngest son to be "a warm, caring woman". However, the news of Noatak's loss deeply affected her and she was never the same.[1]
