Little is known of his personal life, but in his younger years Bassett spent time is Salt Lake City attending a variety of schools. Apparently, he was very self-sufficient at an early age, and he was entrusted to manage a branch ZCM, located at Cedar Fort, Utah. He later married Marette Cook when he was eighteen and had four children with her. Bassett soon began his acting career.
Career

Bassett was educated at Northwestern University, Illinois. When he finished there he trained his acting technique at the Lincoln Center Training Program, NYC. Since then he has done many voice actor roles in cartoons, as well as had live-action roles in film, theater, commercial, and television.
