About the locations template, I think that to match the others, there should be a darker shade of purple in the header part of the template, just look at City template and Fire City template and you'll see what I mean. And if there is a neutral location template, it's all fair to make a template for Air and Water, perhaps rename the City template to Earth City template. Just use the same colors from the character templates. Not sure if you saw it, but the fact the neutral one is purple is quite fitting since it's a color present in the White Lotus uniform. I would go through pages and files which are marked for deletion. Check if there are uncategorized pages/files/categories. I know that there are some broken/double redirects out there, and some orphanaged pages (pages with no pages that link to it). And of course, expand stub pages. There are lots of those. Ok, I am tired of your constant fighting. I've been brought into it twice, and thats twice to many times. It seems like every time either of you posts anywhere, the other comes in, and you take over the discussion with little more than bickering. It's going to stop. If one of you posts on a talk page, it's off limits to the other. If you must post on it, do not reply to the others post, ignore them entirely. Each others talk pages are off limits. Is something the matter with the signatures? I used the signature button above the edit window, and it came out and two hyphens and four tildes, as if I had put nowikis around it. You removed the crucial message to users that the template must be called with subst:. Also, I would like to point out that personal messaging doesn't work with the template, and it isn't because of you. This was happening before you edited the template in the past two days for some reason. Just look at how the current template affected the message where it wasn't called with subst:. It says what is supposed to be mixed into the template when the user talk page is created with or without subst: like this: {{subst:Welcome|your edit to Vehicles}}. Hshelt2, the Wikia summer intern, really messed up a lot of new users' talk pages by forgetting to call the template with subst:. Please, unprotect both welcome templates (Welcome and Welcome-anon) to edit=autoconfirmed:move=sysop to allow me to make the necessary changes. After that, just keep it like that. Also, please delete this template, since no pages link to it, and therefore has no use. I created it in error a few days ago while I was fixing the regular welcome-anon template so that it could be personalized with a message. That is why it is crucial that you unprotect them both so that they will work. Protection is really a barrier for me, as I can't seem to make the necessary changes that would work for the greater benefit. Instead I need to bother you with a jumbo-sized paragraph. Why did you delete all of those IPs' talk pages!? I was going to fix the template so that I would have just had to add subst: to each of them, and it would work. Well, for the username thing, it is simply the magic word {{BASEPAGENAME}} which transforms itself into the pages base name (aka, without the User: part). For the avatar-ization part, we could get a community choice on that, as we should customize it to be more avatar-specific. A few ideas would be to keep the information part of it in, but add a few parts to make them feel good. A personalization would increase the feel and atmosphere of it, and thus would make a better first-impression for new users. This would be similar to the way the other templates have been edited to be more Avatar related. Oh, and in case you were still wondering, subst: will just copy the current-at-time-of-edit version of the template and paste itself onto the page, versus the usual normal {{Template}} as that would update itself. I tried it with an orange foreground, and it didn't appear necessarily bad. It would work that way, and I was just suggesting some extra content based things that may make the user a little more comfortable or excited from being welcomed. I'll put that on its talk page soon. The few good reasons for subst: though, is just that it provides a more "real" look by having contents in the edit section, and if they ever under any circumstance change any variable in code later on, all the previous templates will get messed up. It's mostly a precaution, and is also usually recommended to wikis. I'll give you some free space to choose what you think is best. Joey - Talk Contribs 04:27, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Zero, in order to change a profile or main image, the motion has to have a second and a third. In this case, the only thing I saw is the proposal, one vote of support, and a maybe-maybenot from Omnibender, and then you started giving suggestions without explicitly supporting the motion. I hate to say this, but both you and Omni broke the rules, because there was no explicit vote of support from a third. I've removed the gallery until a third comes forward. I'm asking both you and Omni to not reverse that until a third comes forward (of course, there's nothing stopping you from being a third if you support this). I imported the quote page from Wikiquote. Although this stuffed up the Avatar: The Last Airbender, I imported a version of that article from Wikipedia to fix that problem. Anyway, I fixed all the important problems and we now have a copy of the Wikiquote page to modify at our leisure. Piandao, the forum talk you were posting on is the talk page for a forum that is actually closed, which is awkward, and you're not really supposed to do that. If you think you need to bring up a new issue, you can always post under a new heading on Avatar Wiki talk:Community Portal, or on a new forum even if you think that the issue is really, really big. Thanks 888, Just to let you know where I was coming from. I get the topic was closed, In my opinion something was missed - readability. Therefor e the issue is not new as such. A creator would have picked that up normally. I had spent considerable time searching to see if it had been addressed, well mentioned at least. One of the issues is duplications (trying to avoid) and another is the best way forward. It becomes just as untidy to have several threads marked <topic> in this case quotes for a new guy like me that's a lot of extra work and a bit of a put off - or it just means people start without checking and receive reprimands or 'notices'. I'm trying to avoid both. It appears that Wiki does not allow for a continuation, or the Admin are trying to solve and move on which is fine but templates and layouts are usually modified again and again over time. I hope for a tidier/easier system - sorry! Just I'm used to being a moderator for discussions/topics that are open for all time and only repeats are closed. Adding my two cents that no article should ever be considered complete or a thread as concluded (IMO). I'll start a new thread as it's at least two against one :). The issue size? Thinking urgent due to unreadable and not big due to the fact it is a minor change - black text to white text... I'll go with Com portal. --Piandao 09:18, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

That's probably a good idea Piandao. We close forums here and protect them (I think I closed that one) to prevent users from complaining again and again after we clearly have discussed and decided the way forward. Many wikis do this, even Wikipedia - they put the discussion in question in a nice box and say that the discussion is an archive and should not be modified. The way wikis do things is that each individual problem will have its own section in one of the places the wiki decides is acceptable for discussing problems. I've been here a lot longer than you guys and before I introduced the discussion closed template things didn't go so smoothly. Trust me, the currernt system of closing discussions when a decision has been reached is fine and does not need to be modified. It was chaos before. With people starting to talk over a decided issue like it had never been decided in the first place. The Discussion Closed template had two purposes. One to close the Discussion and the other to clearly stste the result of the discussion. Seriously, most of the posts after the discussion were closed, before the introduction of the template, were unnecessary. For example: Take that we had decided to set as certain format. A while later someone wouold come along and and say that it should be done in the way it had been decided to be done already. Thus starting talk wars all over again. Look Piandao. I respect your experience. But you have to understand that the experience I gained from this wiki tells me that this is the best way to do things. And normally after a discussion is closed it doesn't open. Only in an extreme curcumstance can it be done. For example new information concerning the alliegance of the Northern Air Temple. Check this link out, it might give you an idea of how things work around here. Read the Whale Tail Island, Northern Air Temple and the Northern Air Temple (Cont..) Sections. As you can see. After the introduction of the discussion closed template. Not only did arguments become more managable and the decision more understandable, but it also had one other effect. Discussions were categorised in a much better way under the heading of the topic of the discussion. For example. The Air Nomad discussion was taking place in the Whale Tail Island Discussion, causing confusion. That stopped after the applying of the template. - Zero - Talk 07:50, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

Hi, I think it's a great idea to officially close a discussion in general - I am no a fan of people circling over the same argument util one gives up. I am not going to repeat my reasons. I can see that the way these forums operate that they are not as easy to use in the way other forums are. So I am on board with coming to a conclusion. My intention was not to pen old wounds, rather to keep within the same forum to save opening new ones everywhere that looses continuity. So a Topic starts with Aang and moves on to Aangs clothing, Aangs staff/kite Aangs skills etc..they are just add ons. As I did not actually go over old ground I just wanted to save starting another forum discussion (old habit). If you guys are okay with that then fine - but it brings fragmentation of discussions all over the place - my where and how questions were mainly out of edit frustrations due to Google chrome reseting my edit to a frustrating 'pick editing tool' or something - now solved. I am not happy to have fragmented discussions and don't want to open old ones so lets wait and see before we rationalise everything from inside/outside perspective - btw I hate the bold/capitals when people are trying to push their point. True it was the wrong place - my bad! *long Sigh* do we need to be curt and abrupt? This is a community Zero. It's meant to be social too. It was not necessary. The sigh was an added unnecessary 'poke' too. I'm brand new at all this editing and formatting as well as finding my way around the site too. I have no computer training whatsoever. Help rather than highlighting my lack of skills along with ignorance of wiki protocol. Bottom line - I can sink or swim here and it won't matter to anyone. Up to you if you want to help me Zero. Yeah Zero, I have to say you're probably in the wrong here. I think you're too used to talking to veterans, and forget how to approach newer users who don't know everything. I'm happy to hear this but I really need some time off. Maybe after a while I'll come back. We'll see. There is not much to do around here anymore. I was happy to work here. And contrary to popular belief I'm not leaving because of "disagreements", I enjoyed those conversations and discussions of ours. However, there is one thing I'd like to request. Whatever you do, do not change our most important policy. Always remember the hard work everyone has put in this wiki and do not remove data unless it's incorrect. What can I do?
There is so much you can do here this Summer, you'll never get bored!
  • Create a user group to collaborate with your fellow users on a project of your choice! Name it after your favorite organization from the series! Choose how you want to run your group! See this and this group for an example of a great user group.
  • Write a blog about anything - who are you favourite characters? Why? What do you think of the new movie? What do you think of how we run things on the wiki? You can also write reviews of episodes, advertise fanon or fan fiction that you've written, and so much more!
  • Jump into the forums and discuss the series and films with other Avatar fans! Ask your questions about the series, and answer others'! You can discuss anything about Avatar - your favourite characters, comparisons between characters and characters from other series, and much more!
  • Not satisfied? Jump on the wiki's chat service and talk about anything with other Avatar users - it doesn't have to be about Avatar! If you already have IRC, you can simply join #wikia-Avatar on freenode.
  • Help us make important decisions on the wiki's future by simply commenting on our proposals! Every registered user can vote almost everywhere! Jump in and play your part in the direction this wiki takes for the next few months, or even years.
  • Do you have any more ideas? Well Zero2001, head straight onto our community centre and give us some more suggestions, or even general feedback. We'd love to hear from you!
