Hi Omnibender. Long time no see. I'm just leaving you this message because I think, or more so, I know that you will be willing enough to discuss a new/old matter. Trust me, it has nothing to do with the 'condensation' thing again. First of all, I want to thank you for your efforts in undoing some of the hideous changes recently added to the airbending page. Not only were the old changes completely false but the spelling and grammer of some of those "editors" was horrible. Second of all, I think it's time we rekindled that discussion regarding airbending sub-skills (if any). Please reply back either to this page or my own if you're prepared to engage in another back-and-forth discussion again. Don't get me wrong, I'm not after a two-month debate, I just need to clarify something with the person who removed my last post on the airbending page regarding "Alternate Styles". Hi Yin&Yang, creating a new forum on Avatar Wiki is actually quite easy. For something like this, Avatar related, just go onto Forum:Avatar-related_Discussion and in the type box, simply add the name of your new forum. Yes, but before we start, there's something I want to know: is this about the soundbending/amplification and airbending techniques only or is it about what is a sub-skill and what is an alternative style in general? Thanks for that Joeyaa, I appreciate the help. To Omnibender, I actually am not trying to discuss either of those arguments you mentioned. There is some slight cross-over between the "definition of a sub-skill" and my argument, but I don't think it necessary to create two seperate forums. What my discussion will be about is the inclusion of "Flight/Gliding" under the category for an "Alternate Style" in airbending. Please don't jump to any conclusions just yet, seeing as I've developed quite a strong basis for the discussion. I already know your current view on this subject, but in time you may change that view. The whole soundbending thing is a little too ambiguous so I decided to let it go; at least until someone presents some sort of undeniable proof that it is a sub-skill. The RTE, also known as Rich Text Editor, 'The New Editor", and The FCK Editor (serious name, but they're renaming it soon). See Help:Rich_text_editor. It's enabled by default to everyone, even though a lot of regulars disable it, and it likes adding extra spaces and 'simplifying pages', which is why those anons were removing that unnecessary parameter because the RTE was 'simplifying it' (notice it does have several bugs, I myself have reported half a dozen) :) Joey aa 03:05, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi, Omnibender, it's Fire Eater. Listen, one or two users have damaged the New Series page. The speculation, differences sections, much of it has been removed by other users. Hello Omnibender i am a little new to the site but i have all ready made some edits. one of these edits was to the Fire Nation page since there was no image by were it talks about the fire nation flag i placed an image of it by were it states that. but you edited the page and deleted it so i tried again and some one else deleted it. i was wondering why it got deleted or if i am doing anything wrong i did press the save button

Actually Omni, an image is only supposed to have the screenshot template applied to them when they are on a canon page. For canon use, "fanon" is supposed to be written. Vaznock - Talk 23:06, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

  • Nothing shows up when you add fanon, and even if it's used in the fanon area, the image still comes from episodes, and as such, they're copyrighted, we have to add something, they're still screenshots of the episodes. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:08, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

Sorry if I messed anything up. I'm re-watching Book Two and making updates as I go along. I'm mostly just trying to sort out all the goofs in the episodes. Every once in a while I'll catch a posted goof under trivia and sort them out, or I might contribute a trivia if I know one. I'll try to be more careful. How was it messing up the formatting?

I wasn't "ignoring your warnings"; I didn't even know you posted anything until just now. So please don't make incorrect assumptions about me. And what specifically am I doing wrong? I went back and looked at my edits: I really don't know how the spaces are happening. My procedure is always to preview, then fix any problems, then save, and finally check the page before I move on. They always look normal when I'm done, but the history on the pages show weird spacing and stuff. I'm stumped... --JFH2009 23:41, October 8, 2009 (UTC)

I really did just see them. I don't check my talk page as much as I do the home page, and I saw on the home page that you posted something on my talk page. That was when I saw the first two along with the last one. I'm new to this. I didn't know it makes an announcement at the top of the page. Should we keep the spelling of qi as "chi" since the actual Chinese spelling is spelled "qi"? If someone types in chi we could always just redirect them to qi. Just thought I should run it by you. --JFH2009 15:33, October 18, 2009 (UTC)

  • Actually Chinese pinyin uses both qi and chi. If we're talking about chi as in the chi that runs through your body than it remains chi. But even though they sound similar they are actually different. the q is more of a "cht" sound while the ch is more "chee". Hope that helps. --JaiMac28 00:25, October 21, 2009 (UTC)

KIT084 added something to Trivia for "The Drill" that isn't, well, entirely true. They said that it shows Katara can't heal blocked chi, but I went back and watched that episode to double check. Here...

[Everyone is standing at a soldier's bedside, he isn't moving, but Katara is healing his arm.]
General Sung: What's wrong with him? He doesn't look injured.
Katara: His qi is blocked.
[She finishes healing his arm and he stirs.]
Katara: (To soldier) Who did this to you?
Soldier: Two girls ambushed us. One of them hit me with a bunch of quick jabs, and suddenly I couldn't Earthbend, and I could barely move. And then she cartwheeled away.
Katara: Ty Lee. She doesn't look dangerous, but she knows the human body and it's weak points. It's like she takes you down from the inside.

After that Sokka comes up with the idea to take down the drill from the inside, but it never really says or shows Katara can't heal blocked qi. If anything it kinda shows she can, since the soldier went from barely moving to talking to them about Ty Lee. I don't know if you've ever seen the movie Peter Pan, but I think you may need to rewatch it. Jet is vastly similar to Peter Pan. They fight in the trees? THat part where Jet give a speech to the kids by standing on the table is exactly what they did in Peter Pan. And a bunch of young kids fighting a group of evil adults? Hey Omni, I just wanted to put out something about the spam like this. It's global spam (happens on multiple Wikia wikis) by multiple IPs and is something being looked at, but you don't actually need to warn or block these IPs, as we use multiple tools to block them from doing what they're doing. So to save your own time, just delete the page (it'll be mass-deleted eventually anyway, but we like to be clean here...) and leave it, don't waste your time with a warning or a block. I'm trying to start a new interest in the music of Avatar, it's great stuff, but I don't know how to start a Soundtracks page nor would I know which category it would belong under. I posted this topic on the new pages forum, but apparently nobody goes there... So, If somebody, maybe you, could start a soundtracks page in the folder you think is appropriate (Since the soundtrack in Avatar isn't really part of the Avatar World, there may be and issue of putting it under the Universe section, but I'm not sure.) I could edit and put in all the information that I find, but I hope others would help too. This page needs to be on here, there are sooooo many musical themes - (Sokka's Theme, Suki's theme, Azula's Theme) and a countless number of compositions that could be incorporated into this Wiki seamlessly. When no-one posts on the new pages forum, it generally means that no-one really objects. Creating a page is really quite easy, click the "create a new article" link under the menu on the left. It doesn't matter if you don't really know which category it belongs to or even what to name it - we can rename it later if appropriate, and categorisation is just another small edit to make.
