What? WHAT?! After years and years of waiting, we'll finally see an actual, real live Avatar soundtrack from the Track Team?
Apparently so. The Legend of Korra: Original Music From Book One is listed on Amazon, with the release date and option to preorder.
Be still our beating fan hearts. It isn't an A:TLA soundtrack (which of course we still want) but it's a good first step. :)
The Track Team has said on Facebook: "P.S. if this soundtrack sells really well, it'll be very likely that an ATLA soundtrack will happen." -Let's buy it, people!
Michael DiMartino featured a blog post on the soundtrack, and why this music matters so much to the story. Legend of Korra Soundtrack: Music As Storyteller
The soundtrack was featured in a Speakeasy article…Read more >
The Track Team just posted this link on their Facebook page. It's a petition for A:TLA and LoK soundtracks. I assume that, because it already has the attention of the esteemed and idolized Track Team, that this petition will have more success convincing Nickelodeon. (You hear, Nickelodeon?!)
So sign it, my dear Avatards! Perhaps we shall finally have the sweet songs and epic scores of this magnificent soundtrack at our fingertips!Read more >
Let's try this again. The article I originally found wasn't working, but I've found a few YouTube sources. It's very sad, because it does not appear that anyone actually recorded the whole panel. o.0
This is the first 15 minutes of the panel: http://youtu.be/8g9Z4ZV4pf4
Here is the actors reading different scenes from the show: http://youtu.be/3jJdMjYdTMM
And these are the last eight minutes: http://youtu.be/4tHbO48SSzE
There are several other clips floating around youtube, but I haven't had time to watch any of these yet. Sorry the original link didn't work out; hopefully these ones are good. ;)

'When Extremes Meet' was amazing! It blew me away. I was left speechless. I love it when that happens!
I mean, I was loving it just when the New Team Avatar started patrolling the streets. In the very own Batmobile, haha. And did anyone catch ‘The Lone Ranger’ reference? (“Naga, away!”) I was glad to see Korra standing up for the non-benders, but I was even happier that the non-benders even recognized her responsibility to them. And deeper the depth goes...
But that confrontation with Tarrlok…! Oh. My. Gosh. The return of bloodbending! With no full moon! How did he do that?! My brain is reeling.
I wonder if somehow bending has evolved over the last 70 years, but that perhaps people aren’t aware of it. I know the styles have changed…Read more >
This was going to be a review, but I realized that I’m still far too excited and amazed by this show to be truly critical with it. Instead, I wanted to share some of my first impressions, reactions, and ponderings. It will be interesting to see if any of these ponderings actually come about.
Korra. Is. Amazing!
There is really no other way to put it, though I expected nothing less. I have this insanely high opinion of Mike and Bryan and I don’t know that they could ever ruin the Avatar Universe for me. I don’t know that it’s actually in their will-power to disappoint. Because of this unrealistic optimism, I never actually doubted for a moment that LoK would blow my mind in new and amazing ways, I was just interested to see in what form this …Read more >
