I have to say that I'm very excited about the new series coming next year, Avatar: Legend of Korra. I've seen many people post comments on how the creators should make a Book Four instead of an entire new series, but as much as I love the characters on Avatar: The Last Airbender, I think having a sequel with all new characters and a whole new plotline is even better. What am I really hoping to see in ALOK? I think it's really flashbacks I'm hoping to see. I'm anxious to see if they will have a flashback of Zuko and Ursa's reunion as I'm sure many Avatar fans are. I would also like to see flashbacks from the old series, of what the gang did after the war and who married who.

I would really like to know how much more mature this new series is going to be than the old one. I've read that ALOK is going to deal with more mature themes and be more serious than ATLA. I wonder what that's going to mean for fans who raved about the good humor ATLA contains (especially about the cabbage merchant and the foaming mouth guy).

I have plenty of other questions about ALOK. The list can go on and on, but these are the most basic questions I have:

  1. Who is the current Firelord in the new series?
  2. Was an Airbender population ever reborn?
  3. Who married who? Did Zuko and Mai get married? What about Suki and Sokka?
  4. Are there going to be more than 12 episodes?
  5. How old is Korra in the series?

It would be great if Nickelodeon showed all the episodes of ATLA before ALOK premieres at least once. It would also be great if ALOK aired sooner than November 2011. I read a little while ago that it was originally supposed to air in July 2011, but apparently the airdate has changed. I'm hoping that this series will be worth the wait.
