Why Kataang? I, being observant have noticed from the very start of the series minor details within the series.
Although I've never really been a hardcore "Kataang" or "zutara: or "Taang" fan like some are, I do like Katara and Aang as a romantic couple.
In the Episode: "The Fortune Teller" Katara, Aang and sokka go to the fortune teller Aunt Wu and get there predictions. Katara was told that she would marry and "Very Powerful bender" and would have "A great Romance". As it is hinted and sujested in the show, Aang is a powerful bender who fancies Katara and they're relationship advances and developes through out the rest of the series.
This is a more obvious hint of course, unlike many other smaller ones.
In the "cave of the two Lovers" both of them have feelings for eachother and find the way out of the labryinth with "Love" or by kissing.
In the episode: "The Avatar and the Firelord": Roku takes Aang down memory lane and shows Aang of his past friendship with Firelord Sozin.
One part that really stuck out to me was The girl Roku had shown deep interest in "Meileng". She had the same hair style as Katara when dressed in Firenation Disguise, in the episode "The Headband" The gang deside to blend in rather than hide out, with a simple change of wardrobe. Aang seems to find Katara especially Beautiful when he sees her in her new atire. This is because Katara is the Reincarnated Love of all of Aangs Past Lives. In theory this means that Aang has a soulmate who is constantly intertwined with His destiny. Rokus Wife, Korus Wife and Kyoshis Husband are all Kataras past lives. Each playing the role of compainion, teacher, Friend and Lover. If that is the case than Katara is Zukos Great Grandmother Reincarnated and Aang is his Great Grandfather Reincarnated from his Mothers side. Strange? Maybe so... But I believe the reincarnation cycle applies to all those involved in the Avatars destiny.
I even think that those who teach him Earth, Fire and Air are reincarnated to intertwine with his destiny every time. The writers even implied that they were thinking of having Momo be Gyatso Reincarnated.
Fact Or fiction? You decide. But I think My mind is rather made up <3
