Today's fanon is The Water Tribes by WaterMasterFinn
This story encompasses the events that transpired under the influence of Avatar Jong-Mu, who originated from the Earth Kingdom. It's centuries upon centuries before the 100 Year War and there's a revolution about to happen in the North Pole. Discover how the Northern Tribe separated and eventually led to the migration to the South. Along the way, the waterbenders face the dangers in the North and South, as well as witness the Darkest Day in Fire Nation History while traveling the oceans.
Plot/Storyline: There's a whole lot going on, but I haven't found myself really getting into some sort of exciting plot. We have this revolutionary war going on, but I can't find myself asking 'What will happen next?' 8.7
'Creativity: I don't believe anyone has ever thought of this whole Water Tribe division idea. Overall, the story is very unique9.3
Action: I suggest upping both the amount and the quality of action, but especially the quality. If the author wants to keep the frequency of fight scenes the same, then there needs to be an improvement of battle descriptions. Perhaps adding some emotions to fights will do the trick. 8.9
'Interest Level: 8.5
Character Development: Not too shabby here. 9.0
Believability: See: Character Development. 9.3
General Writing: The story is well-written. At least, better written than I expected from a new author. After noticing the main page had only two comments, I assumed the vocab and grammar would be horrendous, but this is not the case. 9.0
Average Score: 8.96

What WaterMasterFinn does right/can improve on:
I think I may have come across a rising star of an author. Although the plot isn't particularly interesting- and that can't change- the writing isn't half-bad and I look forward to reading future chapters.
I don't remember exactly how I started reading fanfiction. Once the series ended, I sat by a window for a couple hours, took a long shower, and came to terms with myself about where I would take my life. For the next year or so, I accepted the fact that Avatar was over. I guess the news of Korra re-ignited my love for the show, and I began researching all the news and updates. By a stroke of luck, I must have stumbled upon fanfiction.
At first, I was that anonymous reader who left no reviews or favorites or anything for that matter; yes, I was THAT guy. I read voraciously, as I couldn't get enough of these stories. Lying on the couch with my iPad, I read and read and read. Falling into the words, I immersed myself in new worlds and revisited the characters I had come to love. I became addicted to fanfiction.
Mom: "Can you clean up the basement?"
Mom: "What are you doing?"
Mom: "What's it about?"
Ty: "Living underwater."
Mom: "Go clean the basement."
I doubt she thought I was reading an article about living underwater, but I didn't really care. I was baffled by these authors who wrote multi-chapter sagas over 100,000 pages long. How did they write so much? There's no way my squirrel-like attention span could focus on such a project. Anyways, this routine of addictive reading continued for a while, until I ended up here: the Avatar Wiki.
Ohhhh the colors and pictures! It's just so beautiful! And the users are so funny with their comments and hilarious links! That was my initial reaction to the Wiki. Things only got crazier when I discovered the Fanon Portal. I felt so welcomed by all of my new friends that I decided to dabble in my own Fanon experiment. I had never written any fanon, or even fictional writing for that matter. But, I thought to myself, "Hakkuna Mattata."
If I considered myself addicted to reading fanon, then I suppose I'm a hopeless case when it comes to writing it. Writing fanon is an experience like no other. Sometimes life blurs by so fast that you miss things. Time stops when I sit by my familiar window and let the words flow. Writing takes me away to a whole new world where I'm the creator. Fanon has opened the door for me to tell the stories I've always wanted to tell.
