Omashu Rocks here for another installment of FRS:The Omashu Scoop! Today's fanon is Chi-Blocker by A True Fire Ferret.
Authors' Plot: The story focuses on a 15-year-old girl named Akari, who has had her sister kidnapped by Equalists. In order to get closer to the Equalists, Akari disguises herself as a chi-blocker. Akari is also an airbender, simply by the chance that her ancestor happened to be in the right place at the right time.
SCORES:
Plot/Storyline: I wish the chapters were a bit longer, but the plot is pretty neat. I haven't read another fanon about someone infiltrating the equalists. 9.3
Organization: Bonus points for including the correct pronunciation of names. 9.5
Creativity: I can't say that there's anything super clever in here. I never really went wow, that's creative! (except maybe the format of a certain letter)8.7
Action: Very few fanons have action in the first chapter; this one did. I would urge the author to practice battle descriptions, however. 9.2
Interest Level: Although the shortness of the chapters can hurt the plot, it makes it much easier to read. 9.3
Character Development: I think ATFF does a really nice job here, with Akari's determination to find Irsa and Rizu's backstory, etc. 9.3
Believability: No problems here. In fact, some basic parts of the plot are even… realistic. Dare I say that about a fanon… I can imagine this happening. 9.5
General Writing: With a couple of editors, there really shouldn't be any typos. Unfortunately, I found a few. Descriptions are nice, however. 8.8
Average Score: 9.2

What A True Fire Ferret does right:
I don't usually like first-person POV stories; in fact, I dislike them. This time however, the author manages to pull it off. I really like the storyline, and I can honestly say that I will continue to read after I post this review.
What A True Fire Ferret could improve on:
I mentioned that nothing blew me away creativity wise. Well, try introducing something gigantic that nobody has ever thought of before. To name a few examples, the Procession in BlackMonkey's The Avatar Rhythm, PSUAvatar14's Weatherbenders, or Kofaru in my very own Avatar Brek. Other than that, I highly suggest expanding the chapters. Think of how much can fit into one LOK episode.
Who does Chi-Blocker appeal to? It's actually easier to say who probably wouldn't be into this- users who only read a fanon based on the Avatar. (I'm not one of them) Other than that, everyone should enjoy this story on some level.
