After many months of waiting, new news has come at last for ALOK! According to the Wall Street Journal[1] Nick will release more details about Korra later this week. However, it also said that Korra will be shown not in 2011, but in 2012! The Wall Street Journal is very reliable; this is nearly 100% confirmed, so sadly, we may not get a continuation until next year!

However, there is good news as well, from a Wall Street Journal blog post. It has revealed Korra in full color (pictured at right) doing some very cool bending moves in full color[2]! The Wall Street Journal made a reference to more information being said about Korra later this week. It appears this will be in the form of an interview with Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino.

"This week, Nickelodeon is to announce details about new shows that are planned for the network, including the fantasy cartoon "The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra" (a follow-up to the network's "Avatar: The Last Airbender" series) and "Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness," an animated show made in collaboration with DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. that is a spinoff of the blockbuster "Kung Fu Panda" movie franchise. "Kung Fu Panda" will will make its debut later this year, with "Korra" to follow in 2012.

The author of the blog post has also made several other comments on his blog post:

  • "The creators of the show provided the art and Nickelodeon allowed us to use it. I added a note on that point to the story. We’ll have more non-spoiler details on the show tomorrow, so check back in."
  • "Nickelodeon told me the title is “The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra.” The show doesn’t come out until next year, so my guess is they could always shorten it."
  • "The picture is not fan art. It came straight from Nickelodeon. It was done by the creators of the show. It’s your first look at Korra, the heroine of the follow-up series. You haven’t seen it elsewhere because they gave it to us exclusively. We’ll have more “Airbender” news tomorrow."
  • The author also added that no new photos would be available tomorrow.
