If the reports can be believed, from the very beginning the Earthbending teacher was intended to show up in the second season to act as Sokka’s foil. This would seem to be the background upon which the “bromance” which is made blatantly obvious between Sokka and the Avatar’s Earthbending teacher throughout the series, via their complimentary senses of humor and the deeper mutual “warrior’s bond” which developed out of this. Most people will not disagree with the presence of this within the series, and it seems likely that this much was intended from the very beginning.

Suki was the way Bryke chose for the plot drew Sokka out of his depression and made him realize the world wasn't set against him finding hope in romantic love. A Collection of Thoughts on Bei Fong
I decided I wanted to see what all of this looks like together, and to get some input from other people. Here are my most significant comments regarding the identity of Bei Fong's father, specifically against the LongToph anonymous. Ignore the fact that I am addressing someone, since to include the entire conversations would be too much. There's already enough as it is. (I may come back and get rid of the yous, etc. later.) Me and the IRC
I know the policy says no irrelevant posts--especially no personal posts--and no short posts, but this is the only format I can think of to make this announcement where it will be seen by most if not all users. I don't care if someone deletes this at some future point. However, I would like it to just stay long enough at least to inform everyone.

A "What if?" fanon...
What if Aang hadn't run away before Monk Gyatso could run away with him? The story would definitely have turned out very differently. I would like to explore this alternate timeline, since it opens up so many possibilities.
Please give me some feedback. Do you like this idea? What/who would you like to see? I will definitely expand on Aang's relationships with his friends, like Bumi and Kuzon. Anything/one else I should definitely include?
