Hey there, Mageddon725 here, reviewing Fanon Review Squad.by on behalf of the
Ba Sing Se is kept balanced by the Dai Li. Any signs of conflict or talk of war are silenced immediately by these elite Earthbenders, under the strict eye of Long Feng. Brainwashing, imprisonment, execution... anything's acceptable to maintain order. Those who disrupt the peace must be eliminated at once....Right? Yuhan, a highly talented converter of rebels (a.k.a. brainwasher) doesn't really have any issues with the Dai Li's reasoning. He lives to contribute to the balance of the city; he doesn't really have anything else to do, anyway. After an unexpected twist of events, however, a childhood friendship resurfaces - and blooms into love. It wouldn't have been so bad if the Dai Li hadn't deemed her a disruptor of peace.
This fanon is one of the best on the wiki, no joke. From the start, Minnichi pulled me into the story, and I found myself wanting to continue reading. This incredibly well-crafted tale pulls you in and doesn’t let up, and that’s exactly what good writing should do.
Story – 10.0: I rarely give tens, but…this fanon earned it here. The idea of a story focusing solely on the Dai Li and pulling it off extremely well makes it one-of-a-kind.
Action – 9.4: There wasn’t a whole lot of this, but it was nicely described and made me able to see the battles/conflicts play out in my mind.
Writing – 9.7: Minnichi is, without a doubt, one of the best writers on this wiki; she consistently amazed me with her skills.
Creativity – 10.0: I could not, in good conscience as a reviewer, lower this score. It’s just so original.
Believability – 9.5: Minnichi has a really good grasp of what makes characters and scenarios believable and relatable.
Character Development – 8.9: Yuhan and Riya’s characters were both formed and grew well, but I felt like the character of Hiroshu fell a little flat and predictable at times.
Average Score: 9.6
Note: All scores are out of ten
Advice for Minnichi: KEEP WRITING! If you have ideas, put them to paper. Trust me; you’re good. A side note, though, maybe develop Hiroshu just a tad more.
Who should read Silent Hero in Emerald? Everyone. Especially those that are fans of the Dai Li.
