Fanon Review: Avatar: The Mini-Adventures by RuleroftheBisons97

This review was conducted by the Fanon Review Squad and reflects our best judgment of writing and fanon authorship quality. Please don't take offense if the review wasn't positive. We always give advice!

Hey there, Mageddon725 here, finally getting around to reviewing Avatar: The Mini-Adventures by RuleroftheBisons97 on behalf of the Fanon Review Squad.

The series is a collection of one-shots that take place during the original series. It was inspired by Sokka's Days and The Lost Adventures.

Let me start off by saying (Man, I use that phrase a lot!) that very few one-shots catch my attention, simply because they do not normally have the depth of longer fanon pieces. With The Mini-Adventures, though, this is mostly avoided due to the fact that it is multiple one-shots. That being said, neither of the two that Ruler has posted has been particularly memorable.

Story – 7.0: Since these are one-shots, I don’t feel right about giving the story a bad score. However, the two that are currently out do not do much to enhance the world of Avatar.

Action – 5.0: There is very little action in these one-shots, just some Pygmy Pumas being chased by Sokka and the chaos that ensues.

Writing – 8.0: The writing in these two chapters is very good, but there are a few choppy areas. Other than that, this is done well.

Creativity – 6.8: One-shots like this have been done before, and this one has nothing to really make it stand above the rest.

Believability – 8.5: I will say this; Ruler uses the characters that have been given to us and maintains their personalities.

Character Development – 6.0: Once again, the fact that they are one-shots does not allow for much character development.

Average Score: 6.9

Note: All scores are out of ten

Advice for RuleroftheBisons97: You have a decent fanon going here. All you need to do is keep writing and strengthen your craft. Another good thing to do would be to write a one-shot that stood apart from the crowd.

Who should read The Mini-Adventures? Anyone who wants to know what happened to the Gaang in between the action should enjoy this fanon.
