Hey there, Mageddon725 here, reviewing Alone by Millennia2 on behalf of the Fanon Review Squad. Alone is the story of the new Avatar, Leah, on our earth and her fight against the Bending Defense Agency. She has to learn the elements while avoiding capture, or worse, by the Enforcers and the mysterious Leader. It is an adventure filled with action and intrigue.

Millennia has crafted quite an ingenious story with Alone, though I was skeptical at first. Said skepticism was quickly crushed as I kept reading, and despite a few choppy areas, Alone is an impressive fanon that one should not ignore.

Scores:

Story – 9.5: The story focuses on the new Avatar, Leah, and her journey. I must say that reading a fanon that is set in our world has been entertaining, and Millennia actually attaches real world events to the fight between benders and the BDA.

Action – 9.3: The amount of action is spread out enough so as not to constrict and yet have enough. There were, however, points where I was confused as to what was going on, but those moments were few and far between.

Writing – 9.0: The writing was very well done, but a few noticeable choppy parts and some errors keep this from earning a higher score.

Creativity – 10.0: This story is one I have never seen before, and it’s done so believably, too. It deserves this ten.

Believability – 8.5: There were parts where I felt that things were far too…convenient. An example: early on in the story (the first chapter), Leah’s mom dies giving birth to her. The midwife makes, what would seem to me anyway, a rather large decision without giving any real thought to the consequences (both good and bad).

Character Development – 7.5: This is one category where I feel like Millennia could’ve done better. I felt like his characters were a little too flat, and I didn’t see as much growth as I thought there would be.

Average Score: 9.0

Note: All scores are out of ten

Advice for Millennia2: Your story is going great so far, but I would suggest that you try to add more depth to your characters. Other than that, just do a bit of editing.

Who should read Alone? Anyone looking for a story that is far above the average fanon should take a crack at Alone. It is quite the read.
