After hearing so much about various relationship conflicts (Shipping wars), I have decided to weigh in. When people talk about Kataang, Zutara, Maiko, etc., I personally would not care except for one tiny problem: Canonicity. I am big into accuracy and the canon of any story/movie/series that I get into. That is why I want my fanon to be as close to canon as possible while still being, well... a fan fiction piece. I'm not knocking on those who view things differently, but that's just not what I'm into. Regarding shippings, the only reason I care at all is because of the canon. I support Kataang not necessarily because I feel it is the right fit relationship-wise, but because it's going to happen anyway. As for Maiko, that could go, unless the creators say or have said otherwise (I don't know if they have), in many directions. I've read fanons with many different views, and I've enjoyed each of them for different reasons. Occasionally I find that some of the better ones are those with non-canon ideas (And by that I mean something like a What If? or alternate universes). Canon drives my likes and dislikes, but that is merely my opinion. I do not wish to offend anyone; I just felt like I had to get that off of my chest.
