Sokka as therapist This blog is an official interview of the Fanon Fact Finders. We hope you enjoy it!

This is an interview starring:
PSUAvatar14, author of The Weatherbenders.
Hosted by IsabellaLover, for the Fanon Fact Finders.

Starting Off

Me: Thanks for coming, PSU!

PSUAvatar14: You're welcome.

Question 1

Q: What inspired you to write The Weatherbenders?

A: Well, I have always been interested with weather -- in fact, I am going for meteorology in college right now, so, I figured in a way to tie the Avatar World and weather together, and came up with the story.

Question 2

Q: If you were to rate your fanon on a scale of 1 to 10, what would you rate it as?

A: Well, I have to admit, I'm a bit self-critical of my works, I would give it a 6 1/2

Question 3

Q: What is/are your favorite genre(s) of book to read and/or write?

A: Well, I like stories that have action, adventure and also some romance and drama along the way -- essentially, you could say I just like a good story that blends in multiple genres

Question 4

Q: Did you ever find it difficult to write the main characters' personalities like theirs in the original series?

A: Yes, I did -- it was a challenge for me to get them down to a solid tee, and I do think at times I went out of character.

Question 5

Q: Besides your own fanon, what fanon would you say is your favorite?

A: That's a very tough question, as I like several fanons quite a bit -- among them are ABCLAF, Energy Saga, Eyes of Katara, When Air Nomads Walked the Earth, and Heiress of the Nile...and I'm sure there's others I'm not thinking of.

Question 6

Q: What authors on here and/or in real life do you like most?

A: Again, with so many good authors here, I think I'll just defer to real life -- I like the works of Robert Frost and Edgar Allen Poe in poetry, and well, with actual stories -- I'd have to go with J.K. Rowling, even if I haven't quite read the entire Harry Potter series.

Question 7

Q: Are you an editor or guest writer of another fanon story? If so, which ones, and how has your experience been with them? If not, then would you like to be?

A: I did guest write a chapter for a fanon, but sadly, that fanon was deleted. I have signed up to be an editor for one your stories, however -- though so far, I have yet to do any work on it, so there's no real answer for your second question.

Question 8

Q: What do you think of the results of the recent Fanon Awards?

A: Well, I think all the winners indeed earned their awards, though understandably, some of the voting was tough. I am just a bit disappointed that other categories didn't quite get a great number of votes, but I was just glad to see the awards back and people taking that interest they had shown in it.

Question 9

Q: If you could become a bender, what kind of bender would you be?

A: I'd likely say a waterbender, I think it is the coolest element of them all -- it flows beautifully and well, I guess I am a bit biased because my favorite ATLA character bends it ^^.

Question 10

Q: Who is your favorite character and what is your favorite episode from A:TLA and/or LoK?

A: Well, since everyone knows my favorite ATLA character, I need not repeat it -- but my favorite LoK character so far is Bolin because I feel like he matches my personality quite well. As for episode, my favorite ATLA episode, it might be a cliche -- but it's got to be 321, just for how awesome the action and drama was, and then the peaceful conclusion

Question 11

Q: If you wrote another fanon, what do you think it would be about?

A: Well, I have a couple of ideas in the tank -- but right now my current main idea is about a young boy and his family living in Ba Sing Se during the Fire Nation's occupation. That story is out and is titled "Life in a Fallen City".

Question 12

Q: Have you ever tried writing books outside of AW? If yes, what kinds?

A: No, I have not.

Question 13

Q: If you did write a story, what genre would it be?

A: Hmmm, I guess it would be a story like TWB in terms of genre(s), but with a different plot and characters of course.

Question 14

Q: What do you think you could have improved on in your story?

A: Well, I think some of my characterization and romance was sloppily written, and other parts felt rushed, also, I don't think I was descriptive enough.

Question 15

Q: Besides your own what fanon(s) would you recommend for other people to read?

A: I would say basically anything I have here: [1]

Me: Thank you for taking your time to do this interview with me, PSU!

PSUAvatar14: You're very much welcome ^^"
