Okay, So by now we should all be familiar with The Hawky Awards. This ceremony is for the month of December. On November 30th, the polls closed, and the awards were given out to the winners.
This ceremony went much smoother than the one before. Last ceremony, The Awards were officially named, which was a big step and opened many doors that we did not yet see. Due to some issues some users had, this ceremony I allowed for a Nomination Denial Request to be submitted, which proved to be a nice solution to users that had problems with others, and prevented unwanted rudeness from users. We had some great laughs, and really bonded as a community during this ceremony.
December's Winners Most Opinionated - Bulmen (Vulmen) - 10 Votes
"Who knew that something like this, made just to pass the time, would become such a popular thing? I am very thankful." - Ian Bernard
Coming up with the name was easy. Most asked me how I came up with the name, I guess the only answer would be I just enjoy having a good time, and watching The Beach, I realized Hawky was never really spoken of, and I didn't have to think about the name at all, it just came to me.
There was some planning involved however, I had to make the templates that would be given out to the winners, and during that process I learned a lot about the wiki. My inspiration actually came from Courage, when I was looking at all of his blogs. He had a similar blog, but it wasn't getting much attention. I knew if I wanted people to see this, it had to be right. So, I did what any desperate person would do and completely strayed from my personality, and got very "professional". I was really just trying to have fun, and then it snowballed from there.
Most Opinionated
This user would be the one that speaks their mind, and are very passionate about it. They don't usually back down and reason with anyone, but this is great toward their character. This shows the user is strong in his/her beliefs, and is an honorable epithet.
Nicest Comments
This user is as friendly as they come. They say the nicest things that just make your day. This is the award that shows a user is one you can trust to message and ask questions, for they wont hesitate to help you out, and maybe make your troubles seem far behind you.
Most Informative
This user has all the answers. They're the fist ones to help out the nonies, and always have the right answer. This award shows that users smarticles, for they are the true genius.
Most Overall
The user that wins this award is the one that is the true Hawky. He/She is constantly asking questions, discussing topics with anyone, giving advise, answering the questions he/she has the answer to, and always the first you see putting up comments. This award is the most elite, showing their true passion, and displaying their true Hawky Spirit.
Rules
No nominating yourself. If a user is caught nominating themselves, that user will have their right to be nominated for that month taken away. If that user gets three strikes, by getting caught nominating themselves three times, their right to be nominated will be taken away for a period of six award ceremonies.
Anonymous Users cannot be nominated. This is not because of a prejudice against anons, it's because of the fact that they will not be able to receive the award template that should be placed on their user page.
No Supporting yourself. This is simply because you earn the awards from other users, not yourself. If a user is caught logging out, then supporting themselves, the nomination will be forfeit, and that user will be ineligible of being nominated for the month. If that user gets three strikes, by getting caught supporting themselves three times, their right to be nominated will be taken away for a period of six award ceremonies.
No Supporting your nomination. This is because when you nominate someone, that nomination is considered a supportive gesture. The User needs to be nominated, then get three separate supports.
No Slander If you and the nominated user have a problem with one another, please don't bring it into the awards. Simply be nice.
No Replying to a closed nomination. When a nomination is closed with the "done" or "not done" template, please don't continue to reply. That nominee can post one reply, thanking his supporters.
