|"Uh, hi, Kuzon. I really liked that crazy dance you were doing."|
|— On Ji to Aang|
As always, let me know what you'd like to see next.
On Jaang is a somewhat popular ship in the A:TLA fandom. Many people who don't ship Kataang ship Aang with Toph, but some ship him with others such as On Ji. While she is only a one-off character, there are plenty of other one-off pairings (such as Jinko and Chanzula) so it makes sense that people ship this. On Ji clearly developed a crush on Aang though she only knew him as Kuzon. Aang even took her hand and brought her to dance with him, which actually made Katara feel kind of jealous.
I do like this pairing, probably more-so than I even like Taang now. It at least has more development than Taang, even if it is completely one-sided. I will admit that there is not much to justify this ship though. It was completely one-sided and it only lasted for one episode. Aang already loved Katara and On Ji did not even know who Aang really was. Granted, Shoji saw Aang earthbend so she could have at least found out that Aang is an earthbender if Shoji ever said anything about what he saw. Still, I really love this ship.
- Aang and On Ji seem to enjoy each others presence and they get along well.
- On Ji fell for Aang without even knowing that he was the avatar. She liked him for who he was. In fact, Aang mostly seemed like a delinquent among the Fire Nation society.
- On Ji did not know who Aang really was and thought he was just this boy named Kuzon from the colonies. It is unknown how she would have reacted if she learned the truth.
- Aang already loved Katara and eventually ended up with her, making this relationship impossible.
