|"I'm sensing - just sensing - an unspoken attraction between you two."|
I decided to make Mingzan (Ghazan and Ming-hua) this week's ship of the week. It's fairly popular and it seems to have a lot of fans but there are sure to be others who are not fans of this ship.
It is unknown how Ghazan and Ming-Hua met. It is likely that they met through being members of the Red Lotus. Unfortunately, we also don't know anything about their relationship before they were imprisoned for thirteen years. However, once they both escaped, they seemed to be happy to see each other. We've seen them fight side-by-side in battle and they seem to work well together. This ship really set sail when Bolin made up stories about Ghazan and suggested that there might be an attraction between him and Ming-Hua. Out of the three stories that Bolin made up, Ghazan said that two of them are correct. Bryke later confirmed that the mustache story was correct but not even they know which of the other stories were correct. It kind of seems like they are teasing us. Unfortunately, both Ghazan and Ming-Hua came to a tragic end. Ming-Hua was electrocuted by Mako and Ghazan committed suicide by causing a cave-in because he didn't want to go back to prison. I bet that some fans would like to think that Ghazan's suicide was also fueled by his grief for Ming-Hua.
I am a fan of this ship. I didn't want to ship it at first but I couldn't help myself when Bolin made that ship tease about them. Ming-Hua kind of looked away from Ghazan afterwards and some interpret this as an indication of tension between them. What is most important to me is the fact that they work very well together. I feel that they really connect too. I also feel like Ghazan probably was saddened a little when Mako showed up in the final battle as he probably realized what might have happened to Ming-Hua. I realize that there is little evidence to support this pairing but I still love it.
- Ghazan and Ming-Hua seem to have a deep level of respect for each other.
- They seem to work very well together and connect on the battlefield.
- There is a 50% chance that Bolin was right about their attraction.
- There is a 50% chance that Bolin was wrong about their attraction.
- Even if Bolin was right, their attraction was "unspoken" which means that they most likely never admitted their feelings for each other.
- Ghazan and Ming-Hua are both dead now. It's hard to develop a relationship once you are dead.
So what are your opinions on Mingzan? Please feel free to comment and thank you for reading. As always, it is okay to compare other ships, but please try to keep discussion centered around Mingzan.
