|"I know. Things have changed to much since we first met. Why don't you come back in and finish watching the mover with me? "|
|— Asami attempting to comfort Bolin.|
This ship set sail during Book 1. It was mainly shipped as an alternative to Makorra so that Asami and Bolin could both be happy. Before Iroh was introduced, it seemed that there was really no alternative for either of them besides Bosami that did not interfere with Makorra. Some shipped them together because they thought that both were too good for Mako or Korra and deserved better sine some fans hated both Mako and Korra. This ship somewhat declined in Book 2 with the introduction of Eska but it still had fans, especially when a color correction was released showing them sitting together. However, it turned out that it still remained a friendship. Bosami declined even more during Book 3 with the introduction of Opal and the growing hints of Korrasami.
I don't have a problem with Bosami but I never shipped it. I shipped Makorra in Books 1 and 2 but I never wanted to ship it just because it worked with my OTP at the time. I did ship Taang and I ship Zutara so I already dealt with the backlash of "ship X only exists because of ship Y". I was much more happy with Boleska in Book 2 and eventually grew to like Bopal in Book 3 as well. When that color correction for Book 2 was released, I thought it had a chance and would have even been a little happy if it happened. However, I didn't want it to happen just because and I'm glad that it didn't happen that way. I sometimes call this pairing "Brosami" because I feel that it better describes their relationship.
- Both are very good friends and work very well together.
- They are only friends and have never been attracted to each other romantically.
- Bolin is with Opal and Asami is with Korra, making this relationship impossible for now.
So what are your thoughts on Bosami? Please feel free to comment and thank you for reading. While it is okay to compare other ships, please keep discussion centered around Bosami. Also, let me know what you would like to see next.
