If I were to live in the Avatar world, I would most likely be a Waterbender residing in the Earth Kingdom. Not to be boastful or anything, but I see myself as intelligent and caring of others, even if I don't appear to be that way at first. I am in no way a violent person, and have never been in a situation where I needed to be, but I am sure I would do whatever it takes to protect the people I love. I don't have a whole lot of friends. but the ones I do have are as close as siblings, and we stick together no matter what. My friends would be a firebender and a Foggy Swamp waterbender respectfully.
Because A: TLA has so many amazing characters, I can't possibly decide on a favourite, so I will just say what I like about them.
Aang: I love that for once, we have a hero that was raised to be a pacifist, respectful of all life. So many heroes of shows are the type that are always willing to get into a fight, so I am glad that Aang tries to find other solutions to the problem before he resorts to fighting. Most people would see this as a weakness, but I think of this as simply a different kind of strength.
Katara: I would say that Katara's growth was one of the most interesting of the series, second only to Zuko. Just watch the first episode and compare it to the last one. In the beginning, Katara is a mature, optomistic, and somewhat naive girl who has never left her home, and despite the traumatic experience of losing her mother, still hasn't experienced much of the world and the many ups and downs about it. By the end of the series, her outlook on things has changed greatly, she has matured even more, she has learned to deal with and accept many things about life, not to mention that she can now kick a lot of butt!
Sokka: Sokka is a character that I can identify with more than most. Like him, I can be a bit skeptic about things, a bit cautious before trying something new, but overall very loyal to family and friends. Sokka has also matured a lot over the course of the series, since he has learned not to be as judgemental of other people because of gender or nationality. I also like that although he provides plenty of humour and comic relief, that doesn't define his whole character like it does for so many TV characters. He is serious when he needs to be, and let's face it, the Gaang might not have made it as far as they did with some of his genius (and not-so genius) ideas. Plus, he can kick butt with a space sword!
Toph: This bruiser's name sounds like "tough" and that's just what she is! She's stubborn, she doesn't take crap from anyone, she is bluntly honest about everything to everyone, and did I mention that she's tough? I mean, come on! This is a puny blind little girl who can practically bend mountains of earth, take down muscular men several times her size, and she invented the most awesome technique of metalbending! I really can't wait to see how powerful her daughter is in the new Legend of Korra series. I know that if Lin is anything like her mother, she is going to kick some serious butt in the most awesome way possible!
