Ayatsu was a firebending Avatar born approximately 800 years before Avatar Aang's awakening. He was the firebending Avatar prior to Roku and the fifth Avatar prior to Aang. He was the next Avatar after Ban Zhengyi, and Zhengyi often appeared to him as a spirit to help guide him.
