The tough criminal was a muscular, disobedient man with a deep voice, a twitch in his eye, and tattoos. This prisoner was an inmate at the Boiling Rock for many years.

History[]

In order to escape the Boiling Rock prison, Sokka, Zuko, Suki, and Hakoda hoped to start a prison riot. To execute this plan, Hakoda pushed the first big, muscular person he saw: the tough criminal. Hakoda expected him to lose his temper and become angry at everyone, starting a riot, but he instead stayed calm and told Hakoda that he had hurt his feelings. Confused, the Southern Tribal chief asked the tough criminal if he was angry at him, to which the criminal replied that he had been trying to control his anger. It was not until Chit Sang picked up another prisoner and called for a riot that the tough criminal participated in the event.[1]

Personality[]

It was the tough prisoner's uncontrollable anger that caused him to get imprisoned at the Boiling Rock, and his anger landed him in fights on a regular basis. After smuggling a few self-help scrolls into his prison, his temper began to improve, but he was still easily provoked into a fight, and had some way to go before being able to truly control his anger.[2]
