  • I notice there are barely any good length, 1on1 fights between these two bending art (their users). Also, I can't recall any situation where a waterbender utilizing only waterbending won against an earthbending earthbender (actually nevermind)

Katara vs Fong: Fong easily out match Katara in a few seconds. Probably because of the enviromental conditions that factor the likely odds: lack of water in the vicinity of a waterbender and the fact she was standing on earth to make her vunerable to a quicksand technique.

Kya vs Ghazan: Ghazan destroyed Kya's Ice Shield within seconds, then Kya stop bending Ghazan knock her off a clip.

Biolin vs Unalaq: Unalaq easily crumbled Biolin's boulder with his waterstream, but there's where it all stop/ended after the fight was interrupted by Vattu.

    • The better you know your element, the higher are your chances to win. When you don't know how to bloodbend, but your enemy knows all the techniques of earthbending, it'll be hard for you to win

    • Yeah, but this thread isn't about who would win, which I can see why you think from a mislead-ish title lol. This is just to bring point that really I haven't recall any good fights between those elements apart from those that I listed.

What if fights between those two always ended in a mudbending battle like the one between Toph and Katara? It would be really amusing to see such fights

    • To me, every element has a disadvantage and an advantage. Kya is not an really advanced waterbender and she most of the time doesn't use her bending efficiently in my opinion, which led to her defeat against Ghazan and Ming-Hua. However, in the fight with Bolin and Unalaq, Unalaq is an more advanced bender since he trained as an bender longer than Bolin and he was part of the Red Lotus. Katara would be evenly matched with Fong if she was to battle underneath Lake Laogai, but she would need to go defensive and use her water whips to destroy his earth bullets. I think the strongest element would be Water since like 75-90% of the world is made of water.

That's just the world's surface, inside our planet there is more earth. But apart from that, it depends on where you are, if you are on a boat like the one where Ghazan was imprisoned, it's a different situation than when you are somewhere on a mountain (with no river around). Sure, you can condense the water in the air, but I think the amount is very small in comparison to the earth.
