Hello, this is a question that bugged me since the show's beginning. Where did the chimerical creatures come from? And why there's also non-hybridized animals (e.g. wolves, dogs, cats, Bosco the bear etc.)?

One thing I never got about that show is where they take a dump from...
I'm pretty sure that, when Cat licks his fur, Dog gets a hairball. So yeah.
Watching Full Metal Alchemist. Probably not though.

Actually, if they don't throw up the hair, it will come out in their feces. Either way, it implies that their digestive tracts are connected.

Irrelevancies aside, I don't believe 10,000 years is a lot of time for much evolution, other than small changes here and there. Keep in mind that we know very little about the history before the first Avatar, so anyone's guess is as good as mine.
