I have actually thought about this discussion a lot. Personally, while I do agree Shanxi Tang Lang Quan is very possible and would work, I would have to say Zui Quan would be another good possibility. This is more commonly known as Drunken Boxing, or Drunken Fist. So hear me out. One of the cores of earth bending is balance. The misconception of sand is that is has no balance, but infact it has the illusion of unbalanced nature. But through its ever shifting, seemingly random movements, sand it self maintains balance through movement. Shifting and setting, over and over. Back to the style. Zui Quan gives e user the illusion of a drunkards imbalance. But, in fact Zui Quan requires much balance. And looking at the movements, the feet and arms are defending and attacking, much like what was said about mantis. The big thing here is though, the movements. Ever flowing like a marriage of air and water, but that idea of substance, trickery and unpredictablility sand can deliver. Plus, that idea of shifting and setting is a key component to Zui Quan. Rising! Then falling seemingly still, then spin kicking, rising! Then falling again. Such is sand! So that my opinion and rant. Hope you enjoy.
