Sounds like a soap opera, that title.
In all seriousness, though, what's up with the relationship Lin has with her family? It keeps feeling as if she got trod on by her sister, ignored by her mother, and then gets the blame for being a "bitter old woman". I mean, I know she was less than successful than Suyin in life (only the Chief of Police for the most advanced/multicultural city in the world), and she had an unhappy love life, but she could at least get some support from her mother. But never at any point has Toph seemed to do anything for Lin. At all. Not even when she lost her Bending. But trap her younger daughter in a cage and she's off like a shot. And accuses Lin of drama. Really, I used to love Toph as a character, and in ATLA I still do, because that Toph at least understood a bit about working in a team and helping people. But why all the Lin-apathy with these people?
Note that this is a bit ranting, but the point's still there. Any thoughts?
