Ty Lee is highly agile and highly mobile. She does well amongst groups because she uses the confusion of the mass to her advantage (Terra Team, Kyoshi Warriors). She defeated Kyoshi Warriors before, so Ty Lee> Suki. Chi blocking is her thing, and Asami's glove requires her energy which Ty Lee can block. Without her glove, Asami is less impressive. Ty Lee> Asami.
Mai we have not seen in hand to hand fighting. She uses her blades to keep people away. Asami and Ty Lee both require getting up close to win. Something Mai can prevent (so unless Ty Lee keeps dodging her blades), Mai> Ty Lee, Asami.
Suki has weapons, armour and defenses. Those things keep her protected vaguely from Ty Lee, but not forever. They do protect her from blades however, and hand to hand she's proficient in and would be able to defeat Mai. Suki>Mai. Metal is a conductor, but will Asami really grab a blade? Mai=Asami imo.
Asami would be able to defeath Suki due to the metal conductor factor, but not hand to hand. Mai would prevent her from landing a hit, and Ty Lee is too mobile. More so then the Equalists. Asami does a lot of ducking and getting low in her fighting, but Ty Lee does more dodging completely.
Uh, what?
Yeah, didn't you know? Ty Lee can chi block batteries by hitting an unrelated object. She's actually an energybender... and she can airbend.
And Mai has a machine gun that spews infinite knives, kind of like Contra.
And and Suki is Iron Man.
And Asami's glove is now Master Hand from Smash Bros.
And Ty Lee is actually Kenshiro's estranged from Hokkuto no Ken...
And...oooh, anybody have some more cactus juice?
Hey hey ok I messed up. I thought the glove used the energy within Asami's body, not batteries. Didn't think batteries were around then.
Either way, if she hits the arm, Asami's out. Asami isn't a warrior. She's into self defense and showing off.
"Self defense" to the point where one can and does throw down with highly trained soldiers in an armed military conflict, constitutes as a legitimate martial artist and warrior in my book.
I suppose after the five year gap, you'd be right. However, the only instance of that is saving Tenzin and the police from the Equalists. Fighting the Red Lotus memeber, Kuvira's agent and her father are only against one opponent. The liteaunant makes me a little confused, but I'm still not sure if she is indeed a warrior.
I would still not rank her as compotent as Ty Lee, and especially not proficient in weaponry like Suki, instead using technology. Hell, they can all beat each other under certain circumstances.
I'm not sure what five-year gap you're referring to. The time gap between Books 3 and 4 is only three years. That being said, I'm going to have to say that Weltall has a good point, and it's really splitting hairs to try to say somehow that she's not "a warrior" because of some spurious reason.
True, she is not a soldier/warrior in the traditional sense in that she is not directly affiliated with any kind of military organization. Neither is any member of Team Avatar, except arguably Mako because he's a cop. That is, however, ultimately irrelevant to the question of her competence in combat - the fact of the matter is that she has been taking classes in self-defense/martial arts since she was a small child and is perfectly capable of defeating highly-skilled opponents in hand-to-hand combat.

I think it is good of you to compare the fighters in a stone scissor paper way, because even if one of the fighters (a) would be able to easily defeat two of the other fighters (b and c), the last fighter (d) might still be able to defeat (a) despite losing to both (c and d).
However, I do think that some of your arguments could have been motivated better, like when you say that Ty Lee would be able to defeat Suki because she can defeat Kyoshi Warriors, Suki is obviously a better fighter than the regular Kyoshi Warriors and with this logic you might as well say that Sokka would defeat Zuko because he can defeat firebenders from the Fire Nation military.
Suki's armour would be able to protect her from Mai's blades, sure it do provide good protection, but Mai could still hit the loose cloth parts and nail her to a wall or hit areas that aren't protected by armour like Suki's face. Moreover, what does it matter if Mai's blades are made of metal (which conducts electricity), if Asami catches a blade with her glove, the electricity would still not jump from the blade to Mai.
You also talk about a potential fight between Asami and Suki and point out that the metal conducting factor would play into Asami favour. So in the case with Suki's sword it could be grabbed and could probably conduct the electricity, but Asami would have to grab the sword in between swings (which could be quite difficult), because if she tried to grab it the middle of a swing, then she would most likely lose her hand. However, in the case of Suki's armour it would hardly make any difference because if Asami can touch Suki's armour then she would have been able touch Suki's body even if she weren't wearing any armour.
And Ty Lee was fighting Suki equaly, none of them having a clear edge.
1 Mai
2 Asami
3 Suki
4 Ty Lee
