  • Here's my theory on Kuvira.

Do you think it's a coincidence (hence the title) that after Kuvira got some bandits to join her army, bandits stole the supplies soon after the governor of Yi refused to submit control to Kuvira? Where do you think the bandits got the plane to steal the supplies from Kai and Opal in the first place? I think... NO, believe that after her contract was denied, Kuvira used the bandits to steal the supplies with a plane she supplied them with in order to force the governor to sign the contract giving her control of Yi. Most of her army must have helped her. I'm saying "most" because the remainder has to be Bolin. He would never agree to this kind of plan, would he? As for the rest of the remainder, I can't say and don't know though Varrick and Zhu-Li MIGHT (just MIGHT) be possible candidates.

It's entirely possible, since Varrick did this sort of thing before. The time seems to match.

Expanding on this theory, remember that Kuvira's army was wearing masks to cover their faces? Maybe she didn't want her reputation as the Great Uniter to be destroyed so she concealed the bandits' identities.

      Great point!

    • well she has a Darker Personality on her face when she forced the bandits to pledge loyality. As for the plane it could of been stolen during the chaos times like some of the airships where taking off  in book 3. However i got a feeling that her greed would get the best of her and refuse to hand over leadership to the New Earth Kingdom Prince/King. Causing Bolin and Bataar.jr to change sides thus tipping her over the edge. I also noticed she has Republic city territory on her map during the interview with the governer. Maybe she wants "ALL" former Earth kingdom Territory

    • There is a meme on the web showing that the guy on the plane was captured by Kuvira. She planned ahead.

    • It has been three years after the events of book 3, so bandits having a very clean plane with bombs would seem very odd. It was also like that bandit (why just one bandit?) knew what Kai or Opal were going to do. Perfect timing or lazy cgi?

Bandits could of stolen it recently when another military or other type of force attempted to aid Yi.

    • It is VERY likely that Kuvira is in fact using unmasked soldiers as bandits to further create a need for her to be the one in charge of the Earth Kingdom. The only arguement I had against this was that the bandits were alreay organized from before Zaheer killed the Earth Queen BUT whose to say that Kuvira didn't take control of the bandits and have them work for her? As Kubernes said, the bandits knew where Kai and Opal were going to be. As of this point Kuvira has control of over 95% of the Earth Kingdom so her reach is indeed very far

    • Kuvira left before they started talking about getting supplies from other towns.
