  • Ikki is obviously in a family with an amazing bloodline. Do you think she'll end up as a guru like Jinora? What would you like to see Ikki do?

      Loading editor
    • I do hope that she will have something new and awesome. However, I do not hope that it will be the exact same as Jinora, with being another spiritual guru. Actually, you know what would be nice? This is an idea that I have had in mind for a while. It may not be a great idea or actually air on the show, but I personally think that it would be nice for Ikki to be an airbender who does something different from the norm of airbenders. I've been waiting for a while for airbenders to find out that they can squeeze the spines, ears, or lungs, of their opponents. Although Nickelodeon will probably not go this dark, especially after bloodbending, I would love to see an airbender who doesn't carry out the whole pacifistic legacy. I guess that we got Yangchen, but it would be nice to see someone who is an airbender and only that, challenge his or customs and roots. I think that it would be nice for Ikki to give airbending a new name and come up with her own subskill that would be very handily in combat. Those are my two cents :D

    • That'd be cool. I wonder what move Tenzin created to get his arrows.

        Loading editor
    • Haha well, arrows are for when you master it haha. Although I personally do not like the arrows lol.

    • You can get your arrows early if you invent a move. Aang got his for the Air Scooter, but he had almost mastered Airbending, too.

    • Oh, alright. I thought that the arrows for having mastered airbending quickly haha.

    • in order to "master" airbending and get your arrows, you have to master the 36 tiers of airbending. aang was at 35, but inventing a new technique counted as his 36th. you don't always have to invent a new technique to get your arrows - i mean think about it, there's no way that's possible for each and every air nomad to invent a new technique - they would start to get less and less original.

anyway...i remember reading about this as canon many times, but how do we know it? i don't remember seeing it in the show anywhere.

    • I believe it's on the Airbending page. I think it was in The Promise. Either that or the comic.

    • right, it's on the airbending page...but there's no source to go along with it. so how do we know it? i'm fairly certain it wasn't in the promise comic. anyone?

    • I didn't write it and I don't have time to look it up right now. I'm sleeping. :P

    • It was in that "Lost Scrolls" thingy.

    • Right. ^^'

    • I'd let her just have a childhood and not force the entire weight of being one of the few airbenders ruin it. She's also a bit too young to need to go anything but act cute and provide a funny line of dialogue.

    • That's kinda what we thought about all of Tenzin's kids until we saw the trailer for Spirits.

    • she just needs to

RIDE AN AIR SCOOTER OF JUSTICE

      and whoop Jinora's-

      TECNICAL DIFFICULTIES

      TECNICAL DIFFICULTIES

      TECNICAL DIFFICULTIES

DAMN TECHNICAL DIFFICULIES GODDAMNIT, JUST LEAVE!

    • I think Tenzin's kids will be downplayed this book. Let me rephrase that: I think Jinora will be downplayed this book. The other two kids will get about the same screen time/lines as they got in book 2.

        Loading editor
    • downplayed in comparison to b2 - i'm guessing that either all the airkids step up their game, or they all go back to how they were in b1.

        Loading editor
    • I think they did more in b1 than b2.

    • I think Ikki should be more like book 1 was she was funny! But most of all i want to see all the airbending kids kick butt!! They showed great potentail whilst helping Lin and most surprisingly Meelo! So just imagine what Ikki and Jinora can do!!

    • Jinora isn't a guru though. She just has "astral projection" and has been to the spirit world.

    • Jinora is more on par with Aang, as far as spirituality goes. Maybe Ikki will follow her big sister

        Loading editor
    • There are quite a number of characters running around so far, so it can be difficult to give them all enough screen time.

I wouldn't say that. Not sure we even know enough to say that.

    • The look certainly tries to suggest it, but it is also true that we need to see how they handle the issue with book 4.

Aang did mention that the air scooter 'helped him get his arrow' in the promise

    • its quite a shame how little screen time she gets

Jinora gets to be Korra's spirit guide. She got tattoos, and helps lead the Airbenders

Meelo gets a surprising amount of screen time. he gets his own unique Airbending "skill" and he gets more lines

Ikki barely even gets to talk, and its hilarious considering her main gimmick is how talkative she is

Really? Jinora is more spiritual than Tenzin, the oldest airbender-from-birth in the series.

    • Despite the fact that she's proped up at the end of book 3, Jinora was relegated to being a very minor character in book 4.

She does get a large part in the searching for Korra episode. It appears she has toned down her chatterbox-ness a bit.

Not likely, but she has potential to be a great Airbending Master one day, just like her sister, father and grandfather.

    • I'd like to see her turn evil and get her comeuppance for interrupting Katara's story about Zuko's mom.

I think I'd actually prefer it if she went another route. Sure, she could be a good airbender, but something like a Pema 2.0 would work too. Maybe add some guile.
