The Northern Air Temple

Voiced By Daniel Samonas

Teo is a thirteen-year-old Earth Kingdom boy who lives in the Northern Air Temple with his father, the Mechanist.

[edit] History

As an infant, Teo was disabled and his mother killed during a flood. His father, The Mechanist, in an effort to give Teo a new, happy life, led the survivors of the flood to settle at the abandoned Northern Air Temple. He even created a special glider made to accommodate Teo's wheelchair. Teo is so skilled at flying that Aang even commented that the young man has "the spirit of an airbender".

When Teo learned that his father had secretly been creating weapons of war for the Fire Nation, he temporarily disowned him, but father and son reconciled when the Mechanist broke the arrangement, and helped Aang and his friends repel the Fire Nation when they attempted to storm the temple, leading an air-borne assault on his glider. [1]

During The Invasion of the Fire Nation, Teo is one of the many characters to return to the series. During The Invasion of the Fire Nation, Teo was leading the tanks. [2] When the submarines were destroyed, the warriors decided to surrender. Teo hugged his father goodbye, telling him that he was proud of him. The young people (Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph, Teo, The Duke, and Haru) were put on Appa and sent away. They then headed for the Western Air Temple to safely regroup and rest. [3]

Teo has become friends with both The Duke and Haru since the invasion. During the events of "The Western Air Temple" he was struck at how very different it was from the Northern Air Temple. He eagerly joined Haru and The Duke to explore the ruins in a race, and was later seen sporting a bandage on his head, apparently running into an accident concerning his wheelchair's brakes.

Teo stuck with the group up until Azula attacked the Western Air Temple. He managed to escape along with Hakoda, Chit Sang, The Duke, and Haru while the Avatar's group fled. [4]

Teo was present at Zuko's coronation as Fire Lord after the War ended, and reunites with his father. [5]

[edit] Personality

Teo is kind and spirited; he loves nothing more than the freedom of flying his glider. He does enjoy showing off on occasion, and even tries to out-fly Aang when they first meet. He is respectful of others, honest, and doesn't let his handicap get him down. Teo respects his father and understands why he acts as he does, though he was highly disappointed when he learned the Mechanist had been making weapons for the Fire Nation.
