I deleted the trivia section because it was only about Team Avatar paying somebody water tribe money, but the money was probably from the northen water tribe, since they just left it, the southern water tribe didn't have any shops, and in season one they had to get money from King Bumi. I restored it, it's the only moment in the series where WT money is seen. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 17:08, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

I see what you mean. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 17:09, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

This is going to seem really stupid since I was the one that said we should delete the trivia section, but Im going to re-add it because in the comic The Bridge the Southern water Tribe destroyed their own ships, but in that scene Katara was seen destroying one with other waterbenders. or would that not count since its in a avatar comic? Mutantkingmagneto 02:09, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

Yes, it would. Vaznock - Talk 02:11, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

One village?[]

It is said in some articles that the South was centered on one city, where the entire populace lived. I doubt this is true. The city was nowhere near the size of the North's capital, and if all the population was in that one spot, they would have been destroyed long ago. There have to be more settlements. The south pole is not a small place (Regardless of its size compared to the EK.)Fire Eater 02:05, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Most likely they are near by, but just not shown on, yet. The avatar 02:13, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

There had to be more. It seems too unrealistic for the entire pole's tribe to be in one city. If that were the case, they would be doomed from the very start. There must be more villages across the pole. There could be holdouts in the center of the pole, nowhere neat the coastlines.Fire Eater 04:27, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

I'm not entirely sure about what to think of this, but I do think that this discussion belongs more on on the forums. Wjxhuang, the 888th Avatar {Talk} 14:06, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Did undo[]

april 30.

Did one undo, not realizing that "water tribe money" was the actually edit. oyi. Not to be rude, but the way that is phrased is a bit odd. Bunai82 (talkcontribs) 21:58, April 30, 2010 (UTC)

Water Tribe money was mentioned once when Katara payed an EK merchant with it. He recognized it, and took it anyway. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 21:59, April 30, 2010 (UTC)

ah okay. I guess because it is so blunt, and uses tribe. Bunai82 (talkcontribs) 22:03, April 30, 2010 (UTC)

Earth in the South Pole?[]

During the season finale when Korra regained her bending, she used all the elements and did what looked just like earth bending. Possibly with the ice? Or was it earthbending with earth? Because the South Pole does have earth below the ice, but how far? Skarrj (wallcontribs) 20:40, June 29, 2012 (UTC)

Island?[]

The Southern water tribe (and also northern) have no proof of being islands, or land-masses of any kind. It is ice, and for all we know there might be no land at all under that ice. There might be some, like in Antarctica, but that does not prove that there is any significant land there, or at least where the people live. A very large mass of ice is not considered an island, and as we have no proof that there is any significant land beneath the ice the South Pole and Souther Tribe should not be listed an island. Same goes for the Northern Tribe. Wavestripes (wallcontribs) 14:26, September 17, 2012 (UTC)

Replied here. Acer Evan Seek anything about fanon! Jet sprite 14:31, September 17, 2012 (UTC)

Change of primary picture of article[]

I am just wondering if we should change the primary infobox image of the article, since the Southern Water Tribe is no longer in the brink of extinction? There are awesome screen grabs we can find in the first two episodes of Book II, where they depict a pseudo-modernized SWT. If you consider your face a treasure, why don't you bury it? 14:44, September 14, 2013 (UTC)

The main image changes can be discussed and proposed here. FruipyLoops Toph-DoBS-2 14:43, September 14, 2013 (UTC)
Actually I don't have a good quality image, as the site where I watched wasn't really that hi-def. If you consider your face a treasure, why don't you bury it? 14:49, September 14, 2013 (UTC)
