I'm working on making a playable version of the game of Pai sho! The wiki is open to the public to submit ideas. Take a look if you're interested in helping out. -Foolster41

Is there any true in the rules and etc recently added? Omnibender 16:06, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

The rules for the game are from the wiki project I started (Above). I added a credit to it. -Foolster

If the info is not canon, it doesn't belong in this Wikia, we can have a link to the page, pointing it out as a fan version of it, but we can't keep the information that is not canon. I'll remove it if no canon source is provided. Omnibender 14:11, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

This article was in pretty bad condition. I fixed it up, but there is still work that needs to be done. This article has the potential to be very good. Scott 21:52, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

If this is going to be kept, it should be made clear that the explanation provided is not canon. Omnibender 00:07, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

Okay, I'll add it in. Scott 00:25, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

Attention! All of the information below this is non-canon.[]

Maybe the non-canon version should be in a different article... Felinoel 02:46, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

Since we removed the Abridged series article cause it was fan made, shouldn't we remove the game mechanics as well? Omnibender - Talk 17:44, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

The fan-made rules on the White Lotus directly contradict canon--how can Iroh play the White Lotus Gambit on the first turn if the Lotus cannot be played on the first turn? Ludisto 03:58, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Exactly. It was stupid of us to even consider making up rules for this. It's like making up a background for secondary characters. Let's remove this, put it on the fanon, and just put the known things about the Game. --SuperFlash101 22:03, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

Remove. Why was it there in the first place? The 888th Avatar - Talk 22:35, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
I don' even know. Anyone gonna do it, or should I? --The Flash!! - (Talk to me, talk to me, talk to me bay-bay!) 20:44, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
Since no one did it so far, I will. Major rewrite is due. 888? Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 00:29, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
I'll have a look. The 888th Avatar - Talk 01:12, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Real games[]

I don't see any parallels between Pai Sho and Xiangqi except the fact that both are board games. The board in Xiangqi is much smaller, the pieces are on the intersections (not on the squares) and there is a palace and a river. One could add several other board games to the trivia section as well, but what purpose does it serve? We don't even know the exact rules and we still compare Pai Sho to other games? The online game probably isn't what the game is supposed to be. -Darjeeling- (wallcontribs) 18:33, October 27, 2014 (UTC)

Appearence section[]

Why can this article not have a appearance section? I don't understand, please explain. Snekradguy (wallcontribs) 22:20, December 16, 2014 (UTC)

As I noted in my edit summary, we do not include appearance sections for articles such as this. I do not know the original reasoning behind this decision, but I will add that I agree with it, since it is not so notable that the game appeared in a specific episode that it need be explicitly mentioned, in comparison to the appearance of a character. Additionally, the references already provide the necessary inclusion of the episodes in which Pai Sho was featured or mentioned. I do not see that for articles such as this we need anything beyond that. HAMMEROFTHØR (wall) • 00:35, December 17, 2014 (UTC)
Ok, so appearance section are only for characters? Snekradguy (wallcontribs) 06:48, December 17, 2014 (UTC)
Characters, battles, and voice actors are the only forms of pages that to my knowledge have appearance sections. HAMMEROFTHØR (wall) • 19:12, December 17, 2014 (UTC)
If you say so, I won't bother adding them anymore but I still feel like it would be worth mentioning. --Snekradguy (wallcontribs) 19:36, December 17, 2014 (UTC)
If you feel they should be included on other forms of articles, you can always propose as such in the War Room, and if there is consensus amongst the community they will be included. HAMMEROFTHØR (wall) • 20:24, December 17, 2014 (UTC)

Any dice? If not, then what's the luck here?[]

Seems like an abstract strategy game Nic Bentulan (wallcontribs) 03:47, 28 January 2021 (UTC)

This comment is better suited for the comment section of the article rather than the talk page, which is reserved for discussion about possible changes to the article. Lady Lostris / 9?cb=20210808202057 SOAP 11:56, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
I actually was kind of hoping for a change here because there doesn't seem to be any form of luck here... Nic Bentulan (wallcontribs) 03:46, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
The mention of luck comes from official sources, so it is not up to us to declare that there is not a chance component involved. If I had to take a guess, the chance could be the tiles you get (sort of like with Scrabble) or in that you just rapidly slam tiles on the board without thinking too much, like in Bolin's version.
