Was the Northern Water tribe ever taken over by the Firelord? In the latter episodes they seem to imply that he had pretty much won the war, but they never mentioned the northern water tribe specifically.--DarkMastero 19:51, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Never, they said in book 1 finale that while they never managed to take the Northern Water Tribe, the NWT is only able to defend their own land, they don't have power to send to the EK to help in the war. Omnibender 21:08, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

But the sothern water tribe, Hakoda and Bato and other worriers, left to fight in the war? Allison0z 21:17, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

The SWT didn't have anything else that was worth staying and protecting, even the FN wasn't going there anymore. I think that one of the main reasons the NWT never sent the EK help is because they needed their manpower to protect their own land, if they sent help, they'd weaken their own defenses, risking losing to the FN, which would inutilize any help sent to the EK. The Northern Water Tribe only survived because of their difficult terrain and the fact that the Earth Kingdom was taking the brunt of the war effort. The ice makes it virtually impossible for any other kind of bending or army to work, plus the Tribe in general is fairly isolated and not as big as it looks. That's probably why it's called a 'tribe' while the Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation fought the bigger chunk of the war.User:PhantomS 16:04, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Why is Spirit Oasis a main article? Can't it fit here? Energybender 23:13, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

The Avatar[]

How do the water tribe, earth kingdom, fire nation, and air nomads identify the avatar. I know the air nomads use the avatar relics but how to the other nations figure it out

  • Presumably, they all use the relics. They say all Avatars have those toys, meaning those are passed around with every new Avatar. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:55, January 23, 2010 (UTC)

A-Class[]

I think this should be an A-Class article. We need more of those, anyway... DaLucaray Rox ur Sox 23:25, March 9, 2010 (UTC)DaLucaray

B-class, perhaps. We can't just nominate every article here. B-class is a precursor, to A. But, let's see what others think. Avatar Talk 23:30, March 9, 2010 (UTC)

Villages[]

In the first video game, in the world map, it mentions that the Nothern Water Tribe consists of a capital city, and various training villages as well. Shoyldn't we add that, or is that non-canon? --Pluto2 (talkcontribs) 15:51, June 12, 2010 (UTC)

It can be mentioned in a trivia section, but games aren't canon, so it's not really true. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 20:44, June 12, 2010 (UTC)

Island?[]

The Northern water tribe (and also southern) have no proof of being islands, or land-masses of any kind. It is ice,and for all we know there might be no land at all under that ice. There might be some, like in Antarctica, but that does not prove that there is any significant land there, or at least where the people live. A very large mass of ice is not considered an island, and as we have no proof that there is any significant land beneath the ice the North Pole and Northern Tribe should not be listed an island. Same goes for the Southern Tribe.Wavestripes (wallcontribs) 14:25, September 17, 2012 (UTC)

Yes, you're right that island isn't an island if there're no any landmass beneath it. But, as TLoK showed us, there are plenty area which land is stood right there; Korra's igloo and A:TLA (Zuko brings Aang to a cave). Although, it's invisible, but it's an island.
