Avatar Kyoshi's difficulties in Airbending?[]

Avatar Kyoshi had difficulties learning Airbending which is why she used Fans for support.

Aang had trouble learning earthbending... Its because those two elements oppose each other... and please sign you name with four tildes (~) Felinoel 03:30, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

While it makes sense, unless this piece of information has a verifiable source, we can't add it. Omnibender 21:39, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

I remember Kyoshi saying it Felinoel 01:30, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Which episode? Omnibender 23:25, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

The episode Aang consults Kyoshi for help on learning to bend Felinoel 01:26, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

There is no such episode. Zero - Talk 05:06, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

The only times I remember Aang consulting Kyoshi is in Avatar Day and in The Old Masters, and in neither occasions I remember her saying something like that. Are you sure she mentioned it? Omnibender 22:26, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

I am pretty sure Kyoshi said it, but I could be mistaken and it could have been one of the Kyoshi Islanders Felinoel 01:44, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Dude I've seen all episodes of Avatar and the only thing that comes close to what you're saying was Roku commenting that "Waterbending was especially challenging for me, but in time I mastered it as well" in The Avatar and the Fire Lord. Maybe you're confusing Roku's Waterbending with Kyoshi's Airbending. There was never anything about Kyoshi revealed that remotely suggests what you're saying. I'm sorry but that's the truth. Zero - Talk 09:12, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Yea that sounds right, maybe I was confusing Roku with Kyoshi felinoel ~ (Talk) 16:49, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

Note that Roku never had to use weapons with his waterbending. He mastered it completely in time. Zero - Talk 17:36, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

In time for what? felinoel ~ (Talk) 02:37, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

it took time. I should have written: "He mastered it completely, in time." Zero - Talk 06:10, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

? But, don't they all? felinoel ~ (Talk) 18:21, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

Go watch The Avatar and the Fire Lord. Then you'll understand what I'm saying. By the way because of the difficulty of opposing elements it takes more tie to start lerning the opposite. Zero - Talk 09:42, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

lol what luck, it was just on today, I see you were quoting him felinoel ~ (Talk) 10:35, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

Good, you finally get it. I quote a lot of parts in the show. Zero - Talk 12:01, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

Any particular reason why? felinoel ~ (Talk) 19:20, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

I just love to do it. Besides, its funny. Zero - Talk 05:15, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

It is? felinoel ~ (Talk) 05:21, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Yup. Hahahahaha! Zero - Talk 05:33, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

This discussion is closed. The result of this discussion was:
Avatar Kyoshi had no Known difficulties in learning airbending other than the usual opposite element one.
This discussion was started with a mistake born of mistaking Roku's comments with Kyoshi's life.

Age[]

how do we know Kyoshi was 230 when she died? Lord Momo 23:44, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Escape from the Spirit World. Omnibender 22:15, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Invasion on Penisula[]

Kyoshi was 42 when she battled Chin at the penisula.

"Died at 30, Buried at 60." the tombstone said?[]

Seriously, Kyoshi died at age 230...

Died at 230, buried at 60??? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Csfernandez7 (wallcontribs) 00:01, 7 December 2014 (UTC)

I've never heard that quote before, so I'm not sure where it comes from. Could you perhaps provide the source for it? HAMMEROFTHØR (wall) • 16:34, December 7, 2014 (UTC)
Have Kyoshi's tombstone ever been shown in any of the series ? If it hasn't, then I  fail to see the problem.ELEMENTAL UNITY (wallcontribs) 23:55, December 10, 2014 (UTC)

Credentials for trivia?[]

This:

Known to have had romantic relationships with both men and women, Kyoshi is, along with Aiwei,[18] Kya, Asami, and Korra, one of the few known LGBTQ+ individuals in the Avatar world. She was also the first known LGBTQ+ Avatar, with Korra being the second.[19] "

The only evidence of this (18) is on an opinionated Tumblr blog. Tumblr barely has any merit at all, why do they have authority in regards to TLA characters enough to mention here? Unless the creators themselves confirmed the blog, I've never seen evidence once of Kyoshi being bisexual. It needs more proof, if it is true, than just a mediocre and biased Tumblr fanpage. Otherwise, it should be removed.CrimsonGuru (wallcontribs) 01:26, February 21, 2018 (UTC)

Citation 18 is with regards to Aiwei and Kya being LGBTQIA+ characters. The community agreed upon considering the source from where that point originated valid in this forum. The comment about Kyoshi having had relationships with both men and women is sourced with citation 19, which is at the end of the trivia point and originates from Turf Wars Part 1 (quote: "Even Avatar Kyoshi -- who by all accounts loved men and women -- was unable to effect any kind of real progress."). Waterbending emblem Water Spout 02:01, February 21, 2018 (UTC)
The citation is only for Aiwei actually, since Turf Wars Part One also revealed without a doubt that Kya had had a girlfriend (so it correlates with the info given in the Tumblr post). Lady Lostris / 9?cb=20210808202057 SOAP 06:34, February 21, 2018 (UTC)
