similarity to Kim Jong-Un as trivia?

The way Jin treated Hou-Ting's photo on her wall, and that it was the only photo on the wall, is similar to how North Korean's act towards the Supreme leader of North Korea. Is any of this worth adding to the trivia? Monarch For Life 01:42, June 29, 2014 (UTC)

I just updated a historical allusion in the trivia section that's no so different, but I think the one you're observing ought to be more general than you suggest. I'd call what you're describing a cult of personality, something many dictators have developed including the leaders of the Kuomintang and Communist Party of China. I also wonder whether a comparison to the ruthless Wu Zetian is warranted, but that would be more difficult to word with NPOV.

Nickelodeon source[]

I'd like to call into question the neutrality of the Nick.com source that says Hou-Ting cares more about her possessions than her people. While this may very well be true, the same source says that she "unfortunately" rules the Earth Kingdom, which is very POV. So isn't it possible that the entire statement could be biased? Nothing we've seen directly confirms this in the series. It's really just POV and speculative at this point. :/ Lord Hyōga Water Tribe emblem Tree of Ages 02:53, July 2, 2014 (UTC)

I don't think so - it is unfortunate for the main characters that the ruler of the EK is so stubborn and uncooperative. also, just in general, having someone who cares about possessions over people in office doesn't make for a good situation: unfortunate. Plus, i'm not sure how the "neutrality" of the nick article would affect how we use the information - she still cares more about things than people, no matter how you look at it. Despite it not being neutral, it is still an official source. The 'unfortunate' part can certainly be left out (that seems to be more to connect to the audience as opposed to providing information), however I think there is enough evidence in the third episode to suggest that she does indeed care more about her possessions (regarding specifically the taxes and her anger at the garden being constructed wrong). I don't see how being involved with landscaping and wanting her citizens to pay their taxes means she cares more about her personal property than the lives and well-being of her people. Also, who's to say that that also wasn't added to connect with the audience? If they add in one thing, as I said, I think that calls the credibility of the entire source into question.Lord Hyōga Water Tribe emblem Tree of Ages 11:14, July 2, 2014 (UTC)

Hou-Ting Dynasty?[]

Is it safe to say that her first name isn't actually Hou Ting, but rather her last name? --Mandon (wallcontribs) 17:03, October 17, 2014 (UTC)

Calling her "Hou-Ting" is similar to calling Raiko "Raiko" even though we know his wife is called "Buttercup Raiko". I don't think any change is needed her. Lady Lostris / 9?cb=20210808202057 SOAP 17:31, October 17, 2014 (UTC)
Should it be clarified anyways that Hou-Ting is considered the name of her dynasty, and not her own personal name? Djinn Spell (wallcontribs) 15:18, October 23, 2014 (UTC)
I was wondering this as well; unlike European dynasties, Chinese dynasties are not named after the ruling family. If the it's the Hou-Ting Dynasty, then logically it couldn't be her real name. Lord Hyōga Spirit Emblem Tree of Ages 19:57, October 23, 2014 (UTC)
