Syulaq is a highly skilled waterbending master and prodigy who mastered his incredible talent at age eleven. On the outside, Syulaq appears to be quite arrogant and cold-blooded, but deep down, he has a does have a good heart. In his homeland he lives with his mother, Kata, who he loves very much and would stop at nothing to protect her, even if he has to get himself in major trouble. He is also fiercely loyal to all of his friends and the people of his beloved homeland in the Northern Water Tribe.
