[edit] History

Hei Bai destroying the Village

This small, forest village is one of many that dot the Earth Kingdom landscape. The Fire Nation does not occupy it because it has no significant military advantage. Its villagers are mostly farmers and traders. Many of its citizens have left to fight in the war.

This forest was burned down by the Fire Nation as a result of a battle. It is an example of the natural destruction that the Fire Nation has caused in their quest for world dominance. Having lost their home, the wildlife that once lived in the forest has fled to other parts of the Earth Kingdom. The black and white spirit, Hei Bai, has guarded the village's forest for thousands of years. However, because of the Winter Solstice, the villagers see him in his more frightening and destructive spirit form. Hei Bai is angry that the Fire Nation burned down his forest home. As the Winter Solstice draws near, he attacks the village, destroying homes and taking people.

In "Winter Solstice Part 1: The Spirit World", Aang offered the spirit an acorn and told it there was hope for the return of the forests. Hei Bai changed into the form of a docile panda bear and left the village in peace, returning the people it had taken.

With the end of the War and Hei Bai's return to the Spirit World, it is likely that the Senlin Village has begun to repair the damage inflicted on the town.
