Biographical information

Although he was born and raised in the U.K., Downes was trained in the United States, earning a Masters of Fine Arts degree from Temple University in Philadelphia. He taught advanced acting and directing at Freedom Theater, Pennsylvania's oldest nationally recognized African-American Theater, and has taught workshops in acting throughout the U.S. and Europe.
He married Michael Ann Young in 2004 and they are currently residing in Los Angeles, California.
