Biographical information[]
Sbarge was born into a theater-oriented family in New York City. His mother, Jeanne Button, was a costume designer, and his father, Stephen A. Sbarge, was an artist, writer, and director who named his son after the Renaissance artist. As he was raised among theatric professionals, Sbarge experienced being in costume shops and being backstage for one of his parents productions. Sbarge began his career at the age of five on a newly founded television program for the Public Broadcasting Service, Sesame Street. Although he mainly works on movies and television shows, he loves being with Broadway and theater.
Sbarge is married to actress Lisa Akey; they live in Los Angeles with their daughter Grace and son Django. Sbarge, Akey, Ed Begley Jr., and Rachelle Carson Begley have launched a new environmentalist non-profit called Green Wish.
