Pygmy Pumas are a smaller, sleeker versions of pumas bred for compact city living. These cat-sized, extremely muscular panthers roam in packs and other animals avoid them at all costs. Pygmy Pumas can be found in the Lower Ring of Ba Sing Se. Some people consider pygmy-pumas the "Kings of the Alleyways." City life has made them amazing "city-hunters." They are able to scale walls, fences, etc., and leap from building to building in the blink of an eye. They can be quite ferocious, their sharp claws and teeth will do some serious damage. At other times, Pygmy Pumas seem to be quite affectionate. During "Tales of Ba Sing Se", a group of pygmy puma's showed Momo Appa's footprint left the day before after he frees them from a cage.
[edit] Biology
These cats are obviously carnivorous, as it's seen when a trio attacks Momo. They are likely sociable animals, as the only ones seen were the trio in Ba Sing Se.
Its possible they are kept as pets and food by some people as seen in "Tales of Ba Sing Se".
Pygmy Pumas are first seen in "Tales of Ba Sing Se".
[edit] Connection
Although much smaller, these cats resemble the melanistic variation of a puma. Other names given to the puma are couger, mountian lions, catamunt, or panther. They are found mostly in western North America and all of Latin America.
