Zuko tries to explain himself
Well, that's not her name ... but ...
The term "Mrs. Morishita" has not been confirmed by official sources.

Mrs. Morishita was the spouse of Mayor Morishita of Yu Dao. Despite being an earthbender, she married into an important Fire Nation colonial family. The couple had a daughter named Kori, who was also an earthbender.[1] After the battle for Yu Dao, Mrs. Morishita became a member of the town's coalition government, which would serve as an example for all the other Fire Nation colonies.[2]

Personality[]

Mrs. Morishita was much more level-headed than her husband, remaining calm and polite even as Fire Lord Zuko threatened Morishita. She often criticized her husband for his outspokenness. She had a good relationship with her daughter, whom she illegally freed from her chains after she was brought back to Yu Dao. Though not as vocal on the issue as her husband, she also opposed the Harmony Restoration Movement, as it would mean separating her family and dismantling the home they had built together.[1]

Following the resolution of the Yu Dao crisis, Mrs. Morishita joined her husband and daughter, along with Zuko, Avatar Aang, and other delegates at a meeting regarding Yu Dao's future.[3]

She was chosen to be a councilwoman for Yu Dao, which required an understanding of political affairs.[2]

Abilities[]

Mrs. Morishita was a powerful earthbender. During her husband's confrontation with Zuko, she raised a large block of earth in order to protect him. She also taught Kori how to earthbend, suggesting that her abilities were more extensive than she displayed.[1]
