Mrs. Morishita was much more level-headed than her husband, remaining calm and polite even as Fire LordZuko threatened Morishita. She often criticized her husband for his outspokenness. She had a good relationship with her daughter, even illegally freeing her from her chains after she was brought back to Yu Dao. Though not as vocal on the issue as her husband, she also opposed the Harmony Restoration Movement, as it would mean separating her family and dismantling the home they had built together.[1]
Mrs. Morishita was a powerful earthbender. During her husband's confrontation with Zuko, she raised a large block of earth in order to protect him. She also taught Kori how to earthbend, suggesting that her abilities were more extensive than she displayed.[1]
