Prods Frenchy It's okay Froggy ^.^' I'm just focusing on writing atm, but watching the wiki. I'm going to see if this day sees the end of this chapter. Vulmen (talk • contribs) 17:45, May 15, 2011 (UTC)
Bzw, the show did tell us (or flashback us) that Ozai cared for Zuko at one point, right? French Froglegs - Talk 18:00, May 15, 2011 (UTC)
Umm, by insinuation, not by clear declaration that I recall. It would be fair to say he at one point prior to all his claim to power did care for Zuko and his family in a more appropriate way; through their child-birthing/etc. It's just that his heart became further and further poisoned by his desire for power, to the point he loved it more than he loved his family. Vulmen (talk • contribs) 18:06, May 15, 2011 (UTC)
Are you like me thinking to those two flashbacks, where we can discern Zuko being chased by Azula (er … in a friendly way) with Ozai following, and the one where with a hand on Zuko's shoulder they both look at the sunset ? French Froglegs - Talk 18:12, May 15, 2011 (UTC)
By the way, how do you see Ozai as a character and as a villain ? French Froglegs - Talk 18:27, May 15, 2011 (UTC)
As well as Bryke's words that at one point Ursa and Ozai likely had a much better marriage, yes. Also, Ozai couldn't corrupt train his daughter in Firebending while she was still an infant, so he couldn't 'grow' her until later. Lu Ten was born prior to Ozai even having children, as well. He likely was always jealous; it just got out of control.
Eh; how should I see him as both? As a villain; he's laid-back and impressionable (Azula's words easily sway him to 'Yes, let's genocide', and he has his war council meetings for strategy), yet extremely powerful. Though more or less your typical 'final villain' role. As a character; greedy, selfish, but laid out so that you can imagine how he slipped down into it and just sunk to the lowest of lows. His desire is all he sees anymore. I dunno..is this what you were asking? Vulmen (talk • contribs) 18:31, May 15, 2011 (UTC)
What do you mean by laid-back, impressionable, and laid out ? I do not understand either the words or why you use them. French Froglegs - Talk 18:51, May 15, 2011 (UTC)
He never, ever, ever leaves the Fire Nation capital until the very end; simply planning strategy and letting others do all the work of hunting the Avatar. Apparently Sozin was much more active than he was, and Iroh was also very active while he was still in line for Fire Lord. Ozai? Twiddling thumbs in the palace. Even during Day of Black Sun, he doesn't make an appearance even at the very end when Firebending is back on - he just sits and lets his army beat back the offenders. Laid back, restful, relaxed... :) Vulmen (talk • contribs) 18:54, May 15, 2011 (UTC)
And impressionable and laid-out ? French Froglegs - Talk 19:10, May 15, 2011 (UTC)
I have to keep changing your indent. ^^" Is that because of Rich Text Editor? Try source mode or something, so our comments don't line up with each others. I try to keep my replies being a single indent on my talk page, while replies from others are flush with the page/non-indented. (Unless more than 1 person gets involved)
Laid out is just my way of saying 'the events were laid out' in such a way that we could visualize/etc. "Laid out" as in, sequential, ordered. As for impressionable :) (able to be influenced) Vulmen (talk • contribs) 19:16, May 15, 2011 (UTC)
I have no idea of what you are talking about. Sorry ! ^^"
So you think Ozai is stupid ? Interesting …
I still don't understand why you used "laid out" … French Froglegs - Talk 20:39, May 15, 2011 (UTC)
Laid out: "His future is laid out for him." / "But the plot is already laid out." - it was just a term I was using for that moment in speech. Not saying "Ozai is laid out". And eh...Ozai isn't really..um..stupid, just I don't know, lazy? Inactive? Vulmen (talk • contribs) 20:44, May 15, 2011 (UTC)
A hotlink is when you have the image uploaded to photobucket.com, and simply place the direct link to the image in the code of your page. It will then show up. Vulmen (talk • contribs) 17:55, May 15, 2011 (UTC)
PS Please read the rules page that I linked you to, it explains this. :) Vulmen (talk • contribs) 17:56, May 15, 2011 (UTC)
I will not upload my images there just so I can put them here. That would be a waste of my precious time, when they're already on my computer. Per Ankh (talk • contribs) 03:48, May 16, 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, it was a from my own camera, so I can't really hotlink it...I'll figure something out. (RandomGirlYouDon'tKnow) (talk • contribs) 00:37, May 16, 2011 (UTC)
Oh no, no. You can hotlink it if you upload the photo to photobucket.com - just put the direct link to the image and poof it shows up! :) Vulmen (talk • contribs) 00:38, May 16, 2011 (UTC)
Who asked you? I admit you have a point, but the policies about uploading self-created images on a userpage is a dumb idea! Who's the brightspark that thought that up? Per Ankh (talk • contribs) 03:46, May 16, 2011 (UTC)
You're being extremely hostile for someone who is attempting to make a suggestion. Not the best way to go about it. The problem has already been addressed before. User_blog:The_Bos/Image_policy Read it over for yourself. Vulmen (talk • contribs) 03:53, May 16, 2011 (UTC)
Well, I've tried to upload that picture, several TIMES!!! And when I finally get it up properly, I walk away for like two minutes, come back, and it's gone! In my opinion, it shouldn't matter what we put up on our own user pages! Their our pages! Per Ankh (talk • contribs) 03:59, May 16, 2011 (UTC)
I. Don't. Use. Photobucket. And I never will. And I'd still like to speak to the guy who decided that we couldn't post our OWN images on our OWN user page. Per Ankh (talk • contribs) 04:06, May 16, 2011 (UTC)
I looked. But didn't care about the discussions. I simply want to post my images, which I made myself, on my userpage, plain and simple. Per Ankh (talk • contribs) 04:23, May 16, 2011 (UTC)
Besides, I don't even know HOW to link, even if I wanted to! Per Ankh (talk • contribs) 04:35, May 16, 2011 (UTC)
Not that you want to; but to link you simply paste the exact direct link to the image itself, and it shows up. Vulmen (talk • contribs) 04:39, May 16, 2011 (UTC)
How do I do that with a deviantart pic? And could you please leave the response on my own talk page? Thanks Per Ankh (talk • contribs) 04:58, May 16, 2011 (UTC)
i saw your remarks on random girl's page, and i gotta ask you this....why don't you create a system on how to use each power/bending and make it original and unlike any else, and then call me with your sarcastic remarks....
Colllin; no 'taking' is needed, but thank you for your concern. Lightningboy; try following what I am talking about if you are going to be upset. That was in regards to the blog that I deleted of hers, and she then brought it back up - if you checked out the new blog she created you would understand what I was saying. Do not be all hostile with me; if I wanted to tear your story apart I would. But I don't. :P Everyone may be as creative as they please. Vulmen (talk • contribs) 23:42, May 16, 2011 (UTC)
It is likely in your preferences. Go there and scroll to your 'Signature' section. You're using a custom signature; likely it has that 'Documentation' link just after it. You can leave the part that links to your User:Technology Wizard/sig page. Vulmen (talk • contribs) 23:56, May 16, 2011 (UTC)
The thing is, I created this page in order to make my signature different from when I use the 4 (~ ~ ~ ~) on different wikis. My signature isn't the same on every wiki so I made that page to help and it did, but for some reason, today it started to leave the template behind along with my signature. Can you help me? User:Technology Wizard/sig 00:01, May 17, 2011 (UTC)
I suggested where I suspect the problem may be. Please go to your preferences, copy the 'signature', come here, type <nowiki> and close it (</ nowiki> without a space). In between those nowiki's - paste the entire signature. That should show what's going on. Vulmen (talk • contribs) 00:05, May 17, 2011 (UTC)
I am pretty sure the problem is in that template but here you go {{Subst:Nosubst|User:Technology Wizard/sig}} User:Technology Wizard/sig 00:18, May 17, 2011 (UTC)
Sorry had to leave. I think you fixed it. Vulmen (talk • contribs) 00:39, May 17, 2011 (UTC)
Yeah sorry about that, I just deleted the {{Documentation}} part of that page that I gave you a link to. User:Technology Wizard/sig 00:43, May 17, 2011 (UTC)
sorry about that, i did not check the blog you were talking about....i misinterpreted your post and please accept my apology....(don't i feel stupid now..... :P)....it's just I've gotten annoyed with some people (actually all anonies who said this) that look at my examples and claim it's avatar when it's not and I've worked my butt off for about 6 years now trying to improve this and some times I may let my temper out when I think someone judges it a bit too harshly. And I hope you didn't take any offence to my comment
Ps: you don't have to do that bending system thing (unless you want to), i was just reacting to what I thought you meant.... And if you could by the example under random girl's talk page read it and tell me what you think, and by the way, I'm getting rid of the construction thing, it is a bit too leaning towards Avatar with some of the nations in my series... if you want to....SorryThelightningboy (talk • contribs) 23:58, May 16, 2011 (UTC)Thelightningboy
Np; thanks for the apology. Misunderstandings happen sometimes. And really, honestly I don't have much of an opinion of what I read there. It's the basis for how magic/elements/etc work in your story; and if such is how you've built it then that's how it will work for what you're writing. Yeah, I'm somewhat new to the Wiki. Cool, thanks! Hehe. :D Pipsqueak1707 00:59, May 18, 2011 (UTC)
You're welcome. I haven't been mad or anything, just too busy to do much for a while. Burner season is in full swing and my work here will be spotty until September or so. I was really hoping to get the project done before the regional burn a couple weeks ago, but it didn't happen. DesertDog(talk) 04:24, May 18, 2011 (UTC)
Hi, Vulmen! I'll get to the point. So, as you know, I was inactive for a couple days. I checked my badge ranking when I left, and I was at either 82 or 83. I come back, without editing at all, and I'm 45! In no way am I complaining, nor am I saying that this is absolutely important, but...how is this possible? It just seems kinda odd to me is all. Thanks in advance!MRtGThe Evil Within 19:13, May 18, 2011 (UTC)
Hah well that is interesting, indeed. It is possible that you really had bumped your rank up before you left, but the wiki just hadn't refreshed its stale cache to report you as such. They're slow like that at times, and it's always easier to just say 'wiki did it'...'cause, they do so much. Hah. But anyway; welcome back MRtG! Vulmen (talk • contribs) 21:58, May 18, 2011 (UTC)

lol, but don't worry i also reads replies some times :P and things have changed a lot around here...dc is now an admin...you changed your profile image...there are groups for people to join....there are a lot more fanons and so on, and i think i'll have to change my computer because here things are very expensive and hard to find :| Renata Talk 16:43, May 19, 2011 (UTC)
On that note; desktops are getting pretty cheap...easy to pick up one for just a few hundred bucks. Certainly not top of the line but not too terribly shabby either for that matter. IMO, desktop > laptop...cheaper and more powerful and longer life-span and easier to repair. But otherwise, laptops serve their uses too. I'd like to offer my help somehow but not really sure what to say. xD Good luck Rena! Vulmen (talk • contribs) 16:45, May 19, 2011 (UTC)
I know what you mean, but here in Brazil things are really, really expensive for example, an iphone in the US is like 500 dollars here is like 3.000 dollars o___O Renata Talk 16:51, May 19, 2011 (UTC)
That's...insane. Hmm...shoot me a Mail sometime, or enable wiki mails on your end (via preferences). Hmm... Vulmen (talk • contribs) 16:53, May 19, 2011 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) Not to mention that 1 dollar is 1,78 reais (that's the 'name' of our money) Renata Talk 16:54, May 19, 2011 (UTC)
Ikr, that's why people travel everyday to the US, to buy things, i have 2 friends that went to the US to buy everything they need, so, if you come to Brazil some day, don't buy anything here :P Renata Talk 16:57, May 19, 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, I was wondering about that... I looked at some user's user page and they were ranked #90 with only 60 points. That's wasn't the case with me... Wonder what happened. O_o TheUltimateWaterbender 21:31, May 19, 2011 (UTC)
Hi =) Vulmen ....? May I ask you something .....well ,can I delate a message on my talkpage ..the reason why I would rather tell you on your special email...so I assume you know what I mean..why I can´t tell you here that would be nice ;-) ROYAL: the royal we - talk 22:09, May 20, 2011 (UTC)
Feel free to mail me whenever you want - if you want to ask a specific question. Typically we don't remove talk page msg's. They just get archived when the page gets too long - ask The 888th Avatar for that; he's got a bot he can set up to automatically take care of that for you. Otherwise if that's not the case, what were you thinking of removing? If it's sensitive; feel free to mail me. Vulmen (talk • contribs) 03:19, May 21, 2011 (UTC)
Ah,I see ,well I will ask The 888 avatar that someday ..when it get to long =) well it is, only one message that ..well can you send me then link of your email like the last time ? then I can tell you ... ROYAL: the royal we - talk 03:28, May 21, 2011 (UTC)
About your EoK, can you add me to the list of users here. I would prefer e-mail because I don't want to fill my talk page with messages like these. :) – Natsu11 · (wall • Avatar Answers) 06:32, May 21, 2011 (UTC)
Done. And ofcourse, gladly Natsu! I prefer to use the special email as it is; because I kinda feel like I spam the wiki when I start editing multiple user talk pages every time I put out a chapter lol Vulmen (talk • contribs) 14:28, May 21, 2011 (UTC)
Spamming will be really contradictory to your admin post. XD I actually feel EoK is the best "personal perspective fanon" alongside The Six Hunderedth Day (of course). I don't really know about the best fanon ever. There are many nominees, EoK, Guardian, Alone etc... Anyway, Good Luck with the fanon! – Natsu11 · (wall • Avatar Answers) 15:16, May 21, 2011 (UTC)
Hey, I noticed you commented on my initial blogs about this, so I thought I'd let you know I posted the fanon trivia thread now! --AvatarRokusGhost 14:53, May 21, 2011 (UTC)
Hi. I wanted to ask if it is just to be blocking users for their age. That doesn't seem to be a good reason to block. I havn't seen this on wikis, so I may be wrong. User:Technology Wizard/sig 21:46, May 21, 2011 (UTC)
Anyone under the age of thirteen is blocked, yes. It is not our policy per se as it is wikia main. So we enforce it as a waterfall effect. Vulmen (talk • contribs) 21:47, May 21, 2011 (UTC)
Oh because on the wiki that I started contributing to, there is a user under the age of 9 (according to him). He also seems like it do to his immaturity. Thoughts? User:Technology Wizard/sig 23:31, May 21, 2011 (UTC)
If he were reported for his age issue he would be wiki-wide blocked. As to how long it would take them to respond to the request, that's up in the air. But as it has nothing to do with the Avatar wiki, I'd rather not be involved. :) Vulmen (talk • contribs) 23:34, May 21, 2011 (UTC)
why not !!!!!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hannah230 (talk • contribs). This note was added on 04:39, January 23, 2012 (UTC).
We already do not allow pictures to be uploaded for a user page; videos obviously will be turned down. A major reason for videos not being accepted is for their copyright troubles - we strive to keep within legal boundaries; and videos can quickly call that into question. Hi Vulmen :) I had a question about the rules for pictures on fanons. Am allowed to put fan art directly on a fanon page of do i need to link it to photobucket first?? Thanks Avatarchix (talk • contribs) 21:46, May 25, 2011 (UTC)
I believe that is detailed on our Image Policy page. You are allowed to upload an image directly for a fanon page; rather than simply hotlink it. However if you do, please ensure you properly license it and source where you took the picture from, and if from another author, please ensure the author is aware and allows your use of said image. Thanks for asking! Vulmen (talk • contribs) 23:46, May 25, 2011 (UTC)
Sorry; but no. Not back yet; still with my family. I'm not doing anything really much atm; just popping around to see a few happenings then I disappear again. Y'know, I'm still around enough that people can send me a message if they need. :) Vulmen (talk • contribs) 22:27, May 29, 2011 (UTC)
A wiki cannot be successful without having a strong community that works together positively. Wikis that become more negative over time, or fail to provide a positive impression on new users, gradually decline. Many wikis do not understand fundamental principle, but Avatar Wiki does and is better for it. The user talk pages of new users are often filled quickly with personalised welcomes from a large number of users supplementing the automatic message.
Even so, The Ba Sing Se Times believes that Avatar Wiki can do better, especially in the area of article and blog comments. Every one of us is entitled to our own opinions and a right to be frustrated with questions being asked over again (or plain stupidity). However, you should be aware that anything you say can be read by anyone on the Internet, and can damage the reputation of the site. Thus, regardless of your beliefs, comments that contain slurs, or appear to put down someone else, especially an anonymous user, must be avoided. Remember: no success without kindness.
Taking a darker aproach to the series, Ultimate explores an area of writing she has yet to adapt into When Air Nomads Walked the Earth. The darker tone represents Hama's complicated and sinister past in an effective manner, and also is an excellent plot device for creating suspense, and a slight mood of looming terror.
As always, Ultimate has done a fantastic job with her writing skills, which have also improved over the time she has been an Avatar fan fiction author. I wish her all the best and I look forward to more chapters and possibly even more fanon series from her.

The Fanonbenders User Group
In accordance to the discussion on fanon pages quality, the Fanonbenders user group was created to uphold the slowly diminishing quality of the fanon namespace. The three current Fanonbenders, myself, The Bos and Carloso will be editing every fanon page we see that may need any changes, including;
image resizing
page formatting
coding errors
spelling/grammatical mistakes
re-writing paragraphs
etc.
So expect changes, however small they may be, to any and/or all of your pages if they contain a small error or require cleaning up. One reason why the user group was created is to combat 'dumping' fanon into the user space. So if you see a low quality fanon, don't move it, let us know about it, and we will fix it up in any way we can, or alternatively, you can request your help with your own fanon. Remember one thing — we don't write your fanon, we format it.
Add an element above the "Wiki Activity" and "Random Page" button that shows the current time in Universal Time Co-ordinated, which is the time Avatar Wiki is set to. Useful for quick time conversions, and finding out how long ago a talk page comment was posted.
I have been noticing various nonies coming on to this Wiki, and within comments for the Korra, Tenzin, and "TLA: Legend of Korra" pages, comments supporting the speculated ship of Korzin; Korra + Tenzin.
I am quite sick of it. Why? Because it will not happen.
Reasoning: Korra is 16, and Tenzin is likely to be a middle-aged man.
How do I figure this with Tenzin?
Consider menopause. According to Wikipedia, it usually occurs in a women's late 40s to early 50s. So, Katara is likely going to give birth to Tenzin by 50. Given Katara's age, that would set us with a date around 135-136 ASC. The youngest our new Airbending master can be is 33-34 years old.
So, even under the latest possible circumstances, Korzin will still not be possible, as you would be dealing with a 17-18 year age difference. There is no way someone in their mid-teens is getting with a mid-30s-year-old. I doubt Brian and Mike are going to set it up this way, either.
Furthermore, I'm talking latest possible scenario. Katara and Aang will likely be married within 5-10 years, and they likely won't wait some 25-30 years to conceive a child. My guess is that Tenzin will be born sometime within 10 years after Aang and Katara marry. That gives you a latest possible date of 120 ASC, given those estimates, which would make Tenzin around 50. Thus, Korzin becomes even less likely.
A lot of this is speculation, but as you can see, even given the latest possible circumstances, the age gap between Korra and Tenzin will be too great to allow for a romance. If Korra was something like, 30, then a 17-year age difference might not be such a big hurdle, but given that she's 16, it's too big for anything to come together.
So, hopefully, this will be able to stop the Korzin speculation. In my opinion, we're already going to experience an ugly LOK ship war given the love triangle. We don't need crackships coming into it.
Liu: The young boy continously complained about how we were talking, and
not fighting. He eventually made the conversation end, because it was
so awkward. After minutes of staring he shouted; "Fine! I'll start!"
He then ran towards me and pulled out the sword that was in his
uniform. He used it to stab me, in the heart. I fell to the floor as
blood poured out of me. All I felt was pain. They boy killed me. Yao
screamed and ran toward me, he fell to the floor and cried on my
chest. He was extremely devistated. He threw thousands of ice shards
towards the boy. But he was saved by one of his allies. After, Yao
ordered for the guards to send them to prison. And then--
Yao: The boy complained that we were talking too much. He wanted action.
After many complaints we all went quiet and glared at him. He screamed
out that he would start the fight. He ran to Liu and stabbed her with
a sword he had in his uniform. She fell to the floor and blood rushed
out of her. My heart sank. I ran towards her and cried on her chest. I
was furious at the boy. I ordered the guards to lock them in prison.
As they were sent out I laid on Liu's chest, I knew she was dead. It
was time to persuade Tenzin.
Narrator: Jamie continues to complain about the lack of fighting. Once he had
made their conversation end, he said he would make the first move. He
ran up to Liu and stabbed her with a sword that he got from the
uniform he had stolen. Liu fell to the floor, blood leaked out of her.
Yao screamed and ran to Liu. He was so mad. He threw hundreds of ice
shards towards Jamie. The guards surrounded the four friends and took
then away.
Death is not something easy to write about. Especially when it's a
favourite character that is dying. I suspect we all saw it coming,
with my hints. Aang and Katara do not know and will not know until a
later chapter.
In honour of Liu, enjoy this:
Leaves from the vine. Falling so slow. Like fragile tiny shells, drifting in the foam
Little soldier boy come marching home brave soldier boy comes marching home.
The Ba Sing Se Times needs YOU.

. . . as the famous episode on compromises that every kid’s show must have. If that’s not a law somewhere, I’m a monkey’s uncle. Which makes me Uncle Scar.
Hey, did you hear that the one where the government vows to take away its ridiculous phrasing?
Okay! Moving right along.
We see that it is, quite literally, the usual compromise episode. Just . . . flat. Boom. There right. Nothing exciting or anything.
So we begin by showing Katara—proof that a month has passed since 109! She’s PMSing again—and Sokka—who is also inexplicably PMSing—arguing about tents and twigs.
You read that correctly.
The first five minutes of the show is spent arguing about tents and twigs.
In case you can’t count—and I’m sure there are at least a few former presidents among us—that’s a little less than one fourth of the episode.
Hm.
Desperation [des-per-a-tion]. n. A state of [fan] despair, typically one that results in rash or extreme behavior [on the part of the creators of the show].
And if you don’t of what I speak, please ask yourself where you’ve been the last few years, because you certainly weren’t watching one of the best shows of all time.
And speaking of fathers.
We never know who Aang’s parents are.
I mean—you must be joking. Did he just not have them? Did he Apparate into the world because Bryke willed it? Come on. We must know something about his parents. He never even mentioned them. All he mentioned was Monk[keyfeathers] Gyatso. It’s starting to sound like Gyatso pulled an Angels and Demons and—
Do you know what would just about save this episode?
Don’t. Show. It.
Gee, that only took about five seconds of your precious time, and now look at all of the possibilities. Maybe you can have an episode, hm, about Katara dealing with the repercussions of the last episode? Or, better yet, having some emotion other than anger at the Zhang tribe?
[clucks]
Here we meet the elusive Zhang and Gan Jin, or whatever it is they’re called. They’re here for one episode. One. And they go to Ba Sing Se. And here I was, thinking that, I don’t know, they would return in Ba Sing Se, not to be confused with Na Sing Se, a slang word that is totally unrelated to the show. Well, not totally.
[waggles eyebrows again]
Nope.
This is like the forgotten lovechild of two famous celebrities. Everyone hated it, and then the creators carefully nudged it under the carpet with a toe.
The Zhang are the dirty ones with lots of sick people. The Gan Jin are the white-looking ones with lots of old people, leading to some of the crassest dialogue I’ve ever seen. I don’t know who should be more offended—the old people watching, the sick people watching, or the creators’ mamas, because that is some serious offensive material right there. I’m surprised the Itteh Bitteh Political Correctness Committeh hasn’t jumped on them.
Sure.
Right.
Now, pay attention carefully to this part. Someone or other eventually told the guide that the canyon crawlers wouldn’t attack if you had food. Wait. Question. You are food. You are meat. Wouldn’t they attack you anyway?!
So this is an entire filler episode about going hungry. Congrats, Bryke. You’ve reached a new level of stupid.
I think the M&M’s Club wants to welcome Mike to the group. Like, right now.
Well, a canyon crawler just randomly pops out of the wall like that devil dog from Hellboy, the one who can undergo mitosis at the drop of a, er, dead body. Guess what? Instead of attacking, I don’t know, the people who brought food, Sammael attacks the redneck dude, who supposedly didn’t bring food anyway. There’s obviously an amazing disconnect between “reality” and “Bryke”.
Also:
“It could attract dangerous predators, like myself!”
Yeah, yeah, sure, of course, let the girl go with the clean people and the boy with the dirty. Nope, no sexism there.
Since this is the compromise episode, and we handily have three people, we have one defect to each side, leaving the last to have one cutesy little compromise scene. Also, I think there are leechi nuts in it. I’m not sure.
Well, Katara ends up with oh my spirits by Aang’s right foot holy monkeyfeathers some people who put up the rain tarps! Remember, at the beginning of the episode? Yeah. I’m sure that had nothing to do with this. Yeah. Uh-huh. I’m sure.
Oh, and if you can tell me why I picked the body part I did, you get this lovely banana pecan muffin. It’s quite tasty, I assure you. I also have chocolate dipped strawberries, if you’re interested.
Man, this episode is making me hungry.
See, Katara and Sokka have sooo much in common with the tribes with which they end up—whether or not to put the tarp. That’s sort of like voting for a new [joke removed due to political correctness].
Because this is the compromise episode, we of course have to have the two “different” stories, blah blah blah. Here’s how it works.
Jin Wei and Wei Jin. Wei Jin had some Pokémon, and he was going to battle them over in Viridian City. As he approached, Jin Wei, who didn’t have any Pokémon, said, “Show me your pokemans.” Wei Jin said, “I don’t want to show you my pokemans.” So Jin Wei stole the Pokémon from Jin Wei, leaving him with just Digimon.
At the other side of the camp, even though the audience Sokka clearly gives less than a single monkeyfeather about it, the locals force their story in us him, too.
Jin Wei and Wei Jin. Wei Jin had some Pokémon, and he was going to battle them over in Viridian City. As he approached, he just kind of . . . fell over. So Jin Wei took the guy’s Pokémon and went to bring them back to Pallet Town, not to be confused with Palate Town, the coolest place on the ma, because a grand total of four people live there. About a third of the population left at the beginning of the game. And where’s Red’s dad? Or Blue’s parents? Very suspicious . . . Well, they don’t like suspicious, so they took Jin Wei and tossed him into the Pokémon Daycare Center, since they sure don’t have a prison. Thus, he was forced to huddle in there with HSOWA going on all day.
This episode is like the teenage years of the show, where they experimented with all sorts of drugs animation styles and hallucinogens crappy animation. I don’t even need to comment on this. No, seriously. This is ridiculous. I repeat: This is not a drill, sadly.
Well, the next morning, it’s time for the faceoff. Aang, who has no idea about what the monkeyfeathers anyone’s talking, listens to Sokka and Katara blither like a couple of Foamies.
A couple of really bad, really nasty-looking Foamies.
Aang thinks, Mm . . . no food for a day, yeah, okay, understandable.
Then the two sides start screaming at each other, and Aang realizes something.
“I’m hungry! How many times do I have to say this? MacD’s won’t solve problems – Wendy’s will!”
That’s right, kiddies, enjoy your product placement. Pretty soon they’ll be replacing Aang’s trademark arrow with an iArrow™. And then we’ll see.
As always, if you get the reference—Vul, not for you—feel free to eat this delicious sea prune-flavored fruit pie. Remember, the secret ingredient is air.
As Aang strikes down those bad boys, food starts flying out of random places. Those tribes had food up the wazoo [and I’m looking at you, RJ]. Okay, all together now: “I am a dirtbag.”
Obviously, the two start to blame each other, blah blah blah. By this point I feel like a missed something actually funny in there, since I’m too concerned with not dying of boredom.
That’s the scariest thing I’ve ever seen, and, trust me, I’ve seen some terrifying junk. Like Koh. Or Hama. Or . . . Koh. Why didn’t he ever come back?! [is so sad]
But, onto your regularly scheduled programming. Much like the President writing ‘2008’ instead of ‘2011’, Aang just doesn’t get aangry, especially not over f—
and since Aang doesn’t have access to liquor and the woman in question is fully clothed, he is forced to resort to the third one, food.
See, Aang doesn’t consider himself a Firebender—so why is he always giving tips to his fire chakra?
[grabs stomach]
I think my fire chakra needs more than this ash banana . . .
Wait, I’m going to be sick . . .
Okay, I’m back.
Now, what’s happened in the meantime?
Okay, Aang was being cute holy monkeyfeathers rewind rewind rewind I missed the best part aw spirits take you laptop go back you stupid little marker go back aha!
There we go.
This episode would be utterly worthless except we get to see Aang’s expression right there. Then again, this episode proves he’s bipolar, since he exhibits a more sudden and wider range of emotions in this episode than throughout the rest of the series.
Ever since this episode aired, I’ve been eating my way through about three of those things a day. Why? I decided to try them—they’re Aang’s favorite.
Oh my . . .
Egg custard is delicious. Try some. No, seriously. Do it.
And now for a—
What?
Oh, hello, Monkeyfeathers. I missed you. Yeah, I know it was finals week, but I was still blogging.
Eh?
Oh, all right.
Cool.
“I’m not a Wiki account user, but I’ve edited my fair share as an Anon, and let me tell you something right here and now. The thing I hate, hate, hate most about the Wiki is that it encourages badge edits. Holy schnikes, next time you try to badge edit the Wiki—by fixing four commas on one page in the same amount of edits—I’ll find you[TAD: There should be comma here] and I will roll your whole head. Just. Like. Mother. And why should editing fanon pages give you edits? Just like talk pages, etc., editing fanon pages shouldn’t do that, that encourages spending more time on fanon than on canon, and I really don’t agree with—”
Those silly geese. All of those warm, fresh bodies—oh yes, and the food—manage to attract a delicious amount of canyon crawlers. This is where it gets interesting, though not as interesting as the awesome new fanon Emerging and Eliminating, which, incidentally, has nothing to do with the story.
But then again, when does product placement?
As you can obviously see here, Aang has a brilliant idea, because it’s not as if the Avatar State will help him. Oh, no. Kind of like that Teen Titans episode with the race through the whole desert—and I’m still wondering what could be in Robin’s suitcase, other than maybe evidence that Slade is his father, read it and weep—well, no, not kind of like that, more like I forgot was I was doing so I just decided to stick in my conspiracy theories—but the Avatar State just . . . shut down during this episode. Aang becomes very seriously aangry, very seriously endaangered, and what happens?
Oh yeah.
Nothing.
Instead, we see the two tribal leaders stuffing bags onto animals.
Right.
Aang does the bag thing by himself. Why does everyone else have to work together? Look at the guide. He worked by himself.
And as they all climb up the cliff, the unthinkable happens! They play the “epic” version of the Avatar Theme! But that’s reserved for . . . for . . . epic scenes . . . I’m so confused! I don’t understand! [bonks head against the wall and froths from the mouth]
Why why why why why use it for this?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, I’m a music stickler. And I hate this crap.
By the way, I’ve figured out how to play the Avatar Theme and have it written down. I’m working on the Kataang Theme now. [waggles eyebrows]
Surprisingly, this episode is one of my favorites, because it’s funny, has some character development, and features an egg custard.
So . . . hungry . . .
[resists the urge to eat the table]
However, due to its nature as a filler, I am forced to compromise [heh heh] at a 2—which is still better than Jet. So, you know, filler isn’t always bad, and sometimes the best character/relationship development comes in filler versus plot episodes. But seriously, whatever happened to these guys? You’d think that we couldn’t exactly miss a couple hundred people in Ba Sing Se.
What are your thoughts on the episode? No flaming!
See you next time!

This report outlines any notable technical changes made by Wikia and by Avatar Wiki admins in the last two weeks.
Automatic refreshing of the Wiki Activity page has been added by me at the suggestion of H-Man Havoc. This means that if you simply keep the page open, the latest edits and comments will pop up automatically. The current refresh time is one minute. Recent changes is still strongly recommended over Wiki Activity, however.
Image cache updating is currently broken for many. This issue is why users have recently had trouble changing their avatars. Image cache problems have been around for a while, and Wikia is still working to resolve it.
Some further information: "Wikia Labs ... is a tool that allows admins to turn experimental features on and off for their wikis. There are no new features in Wikia Labs yet, but this change will make it possible for us to enable Chat for all wikis in a few weeks. It will also be used to demo the new visual editor reskin soon."
That's right, folks. There will never be a day of peace on Wikia.

You realize i'm through with Avatar, and I moved on to The Looney Tunes Show Wiki instead. See if you can block me there! Ha! (P.S. I say this is TheJacobs)
Should we inform guys from that wiki? He's an underage user and shouldn't be on any wiki. – Natsu11 · (wall • Avatar Answers) 16:39, May 30, 2011 (UTC)
Hey what do you think of the Legand of Korra? I think it sounds pretty cool.
Oh really? Well I'll tell you that it's not like this wiki because theese differences: No badges, No comments, only 56 pages. I think that Looney City Citizins doesn't care what YOU nimrods think. I think that that wiki is for people MY age. So is The Calvin and Hobbes Wiki, and Spongebob Wiki. And I just gave away what other wikis I'm in. Well you crappin' nimrods can't block me on those wikis! Imma through with Avatar! IN YOUR FACE ADMINS! I WILL BE THE MOST COMEDIC PERSON ON LOONEY CITY CITIZENS!!!
Lol; someone's got an attitude. As for what other wiki's you're in, frankly, I don't care. Don't think for a moment you're upsetting me. But bottom line is this: Cease your hostile comments, and if you ever return to Avatar Wiki (of age), please feel free to join us pleasantly and we will have no qualms with you - seriously. I don't have qualms with you now other than your hostile demeanor - I simply have to abide by wikia policy. Vulmen (talk • contribs) 23:17, May 31, 2011 (UTC)
Hello, Vulmen! So, I have a pretty good idea in mind for a user group, but I was first wondering if there was something I had to do before making it. Please let me know. ASAP. Thanks. AvatarLover 02:08, June 1, 2011 (UTC)
Basically; begin it by creating it. =] And find people willing to join it. Once it has members it can be added to the list of active User Groups. Vulmen (talk • contribs) 02:22, June 1, 2011 (UTC)
Okay. Thanks! AvatarLover 02:27, June 1, 2011 (UTC)
Vulmen, since you're a bueracrat for this wiki, I was wondering if you could delete "A Wiki contributor's" blog post, because it is just my own (logged out) in a rephrased version that I hoped viewers of his blog could read the full lenght off. Since the reading problem is now fixed, there is no reason why it should still be on the page - I have it saved elsewhere becuase of the problems I experience for the first post, so even if I nationalistically wanted to preserve all my comments for posterity, deleting it would not be a problem. Unfortunately, I do not have the power to delete it, and if you have the power, I would appreciate it if you did so. Metalarmor Talk 0 Edits! 03:02, June 1, 2011 (UTC)
I'm not a bureaucrat. But yes, comment deleted. :) It's simply you, the author's, request. Especially considering it is then a double-post of sorts. ^^" Vulmen (talk • contribs) 03:09, June 1, 2011 (UTC)
The mention of deletion of Buttongoo's blog by Olorin and Natsu11 Edit
Please convince Olorin and Natsu to not delete Buttongoo's blog. Although you may take my word as biased because he is my brother, I think there needs to be a place for open discussion on the things in Avatar that they may have questions about, especially when the show may seem threatened because of it. Otherwise, they may be tempted to either reject the show or make invalid, opinionated edits on the wiki (I should know, considering my previous, more opinionated edits). And there is nothing overly explicit in his page, and he does warn people to stay away if they aren't ready for such things. Maybe he should be cautioned to be more careful, and change his writing were it is too explicit, but please don't reject his blog because of the subject. Hoping you listen, Metalarmor Talk 0 Edits! 06:30, June 1, 2011 (UTC)

The trip was great. I ended up working three days in a row helpin' my dad and brother build a fence in the back of his property. I earned a little bit of poison ivy on my hands for that one. :S It also has crept up my arm a tad and itches a little. But it's not too bad.
Oh. You wrote another chapter of Sozin's Blood? Gah. I'm behind indeed. Must focus on this chapter. Heck; I just laid down to rest a bit ago and seem to have dozed off...woke up and saw the time and freaked out thinking I was late for work, before realizing it's "PM" and not "AM" and I'd already been. Jeez, that's bad of me...
Yeah; send me the image. You do realize you could mail it to me freely? You don't need my permission to send me a mail. :) And what's this, a 'love interest' for Katara? Hey Vulmen. I thought I would ask why my file Ep42-5.png. I was planning to use it for my fanon Adventures of Li Hua; chapter 13. I see next to the deletion log it said Unused. I had uploaded the picture before I had written the chapter. (Which might have been a bad idea) I write as I go when I feel in the mood, so the picture wasn't used it. I did, infact reupload because I took unused as it not being used in anything. So I thought it would be okay. But I wanted to make sure that it was okay that I reuploaded , I wasn't trying to ignore the deletion. IHeartAvatars 16:55, June 3, 2011 (UTC)
Yep; that's why I deleted it. You had uploaded it early and it was not used anywhere, it was literally an unused file and thus was removed. =] It's okay now. Vulmen (talk • contribs) 01:12, June 4, 2011 (UTC)

Yes... I discovered most of them in ARG's contest, seeing that it was impossible to start reading them all, I decided that I better writ them down somewhere, so I wouldn't forget one (that would be a real shame). I'll be busy for a while though, but I'll get there. Hahaha, maybe I should've put that as a dream on Ultimate's blog: "read all the fanons I intend to". :-D I want to read them so I can improve my own writing style. That way, when I do put my fanon out there, I hope for it to be of a decent quality, so I would not clog the fanon portal with a low quality story. I've been hearing, well reading actually, a lot of praise about EoK, so expect some extra comments on your story somewhere in the near future ;-) LadyLostris 08:23, June 4, 2011 (UTC)

For some reason, 'Tahn' is striking me as a typo of Than...only trouble I'm having is, where did we get the information to see it as Than? The page was created in 2007 as 'Than'. Makes me think that's what it was. Hm.. Vulmen (talk • contribs) 20:48, June 4, 2011 (UTC)
Let it be for the moment - I'm asking 888 to look at this too. Vulmen (talk • contribs) 20:49, June 4, 2011 (UTC)
Could be.. But then the people of the site would have made the typo 3 times in the same message and that seems a bit much to me. Ok, I will leave his name alone :-). LadyLostris 20:51, June 4, 2011 (UTC)
Oh, I give up. I have added over 100 references, I just can't bare to see another one right now! :-) I see you've also been at it quite a while. Have fun with that ;-) LadyLostris 22:08, June 4, 2011 (UTC)
Lol. You aren't alone. I'm taking a break now too. Phew. =] Nice to see you hard at it too Lady. Thanks for joining me! hehe Vulmen (talk • contribs) 22:10, June 4, 2011 (UTC)
What is that phrase they say.. a problem shared is a problem halved? Or something like that :-) I'm signing off, probably catch you again tomorrow. Sleep tight/have a great day/afternoon/morning (choose whatever applies to you) Vulmen :-) LadyLostris 22:16, June 4, 2011 (UTC)
Does the North Pole Tundra need a page? It has an article in the Siege of the North, Part 2 page in Nick. – Natsu11 · (wall • Avatar Answers) 03:18, June 5, 2011 (UTC)
Haha, I know it's long =D. The only reason why I haven't archived is because I don't really like them. My messages get lost in the archives o.o. And as you might have saw, Me & Tyleefan have being using the same message thing since we met Feb 8th. So Im guessing it would go in the archive too. But then again, maybe I can tell her to message me in archive 1. Hmm... haha. Theirs always going to be rabid kataangers. Civilized people should be the only ones who can ship =D. IHeartAvatars 23:01, June 6, 2011 (UTC)
You may not like them but... your page is over 300KB. o_o' And seriously you can ask 888 about exceptions to threads/etc, it wouldn't archive a thread that is having activity I believe. He can set a timeframe for it to take conversations away with no activity, etc. There are numerous options. Also...you could always...start another thread. Lol. Vulmen (talk • contribs) 23:05, June 6, 2011 (UTC)
Seriously? 300kb? Wow... lol. How do you know that? Hmm... I'm horrible at wording things... I'll message 888 after this. I'm fairly organized, I like messages to be in the same so I know what I said in the past to that one person. Even though my page isn't like that because I don't plan to sit here for hours organizing my poor little (which I found wasn't so little) page. I feel so OCD o.o IHeartAvatars 01:56, June 8, 2011 (UTC)
Hey, Vulmen! I was just wondering, why do some pages (like the "Earthbending" page) not have the symbol of Aang deceased, but others (like the "Airbending" page) do? AvatarLover 04:20, June 6, 2011 (UTC)
'Cause that's a very poor way of capturing it. Really that information I think should be just kept via the category deceased and not "textualized" shown there. Plus, people keep editing out the deceased tag there. It's a mess, really. They should all reflect he is deceased. But likewise again; I don't really like that method. Vulmen (talk • contribs) 04:33, June 6, 2011 (UTC)
Should I change it to "deceased", or just leave it? AvatarLover 04:41, June 6, 2011 (UTC)
Aang should be marked as deceased, using the same symbol, for now. Any suggestions to do anything different or remove the system should be in a forum discussion. Vulmen (talk • contribs) 05:23, June 6, 2011 (UTC)
Do you think this is a goof in Sozin Comet part 4?
"When Aang is about to take Ozai's life, he suddenly stops because he can't do it, but as he stops his hand tattoos stop glowing but his head tattoo is still glowing"
I thought all this time the art design crew meant for it to be like that, to show Aang is a fully realized avatar...like turning off his Avatar State 0.0TruAvatarFan (talk • contribs) 22:14, June 9, 2011 (UTC)
IMO the "Showing mastery" part was afterward; when he activated it for just a moment similar to all the other Avatar's to tap into its power. Leaving only parts of him glowing? Never known that to be an Avatar thing. Vulmen (talk • contribs) 22:16, June 9, 2011 (UTC)
Hey Vulmen you got an Email from me Monday May 23 2011 with a really long movie description what did you think of it? You know "Avatar Evil of the World"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Azulafan1 (talk • contribs). This note was added on 04:39, January 23, 2012 (UTC).
Mm; well to be honest it needed some work. ^^" It would help if you formatted it and separated it into paragraphs rather than one wall of text and ensured you had proper grammar throughout it. Vulmen (talk • contribs) 00:45, June 10, 2011 (UTC)
I'm sorry to bother you but their is a problem with my publish button. I'm tring to write a fanfic but every time I click on the publish button, the page comes up blank. I don't know if I'm forgetting somthing of their is a tech issue. The problem has gotten bad enough that one admit deleted my page already. So can you help me please. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TheMaster1 (talk • contribs). This note was added on 04:39, January 23, 2012 (UTC).
If you are entering in your text in the edit box; and hitting the 'publish' button that you say isn't there, it will save it. If there is no publish button there's no way to save the page so that wouldn't happen. If you are making changes and are hitting a publish button and it isn't saving what you do; there's likely a technical problem somewhere. Ultimately I'm not sure what's going on based on the description given. Could you provide more detail? Vulmen (talk • contribs) 00:47, June 10, 2011 (UTC)
Ha, yes I do have a lot of stuff coming up, but I always manage some time for Wiki. =) My prom was last night actually. It was pretty fun. And I see you earned the Sky Bison Badge. Amazing... TheUltimateWaterbender 14:12, June 10, 2011 (UTC)
These three words sum up the atmosphere that's been present here in the past few weeks. Time to get your game face on, because if there's one thing that's been rampant on Avatar Wiki, it's competition. From Avatar Roku's (or AvatarRokusGhost) Fanon Trivia Contest to Natsu's (or Natsu11) Avatar "What If" Competition, it's clear that the attitude lately is "in it to win it."
From searching for pictures and YouTube videos for Sky (Skybender101) and Moon Beam's "Best of A:TLA" blog to refreshing the recent activity page every ten seconds for AvatarLover'sAvatar Trivia Contest, users got a chance to face off and show their skills and knowledge of Avatar. I myself have taken or am taking part in several of these competitions, each one done in a simple blog post.
Sure, the victors receive a special userbox on their profile, however, there are benefits beyond these small rewards. These contests have opened up the doorway to communication with other users; participants received the opportunity to talk to others and recognize their skill and Avatar knowledge. The various tournaments have been entertaining and a source of fun and excitement. Avatar Roku's Fanon Trivia blog has been a grace to some fanon writers who wished to have more readers of their series. Natsu's blog has given users the chance to go in-depth and bring out their analytical skills, organizing "what if" scenarios.
I speak in favor of these competitions and anticipate future events.
Side note: I also want to point out that I've noticed the increased creation of quality articles on the Wiki. Pages were created for the Royal Plaza, Farmer and Wife who appeared in "Appa's Lost Days" and Piandao's Castle. I have to say that I'm happy to see the creation of these canonical articles after observing previous articles created being subject to deletion and subsequently removed from the wiki.
I am afraid there will be no fanon review this week, for I have something far more important to convey, and that is maturity and consideration. Recently on Avatar Wiki, new user Buttongoo created a blog about assumed sexual references in Avatar: The Last Airbender. As you may know, a few users found the blog quite upsetting and inappropriate, and as a result, quite a controversial confrontation started between users as to whether the blog was appropriate or not.
Now, some of these users, without naming any of them, acted fairly immaturely and in some cases insulted this user. I know that sometimes people can be difficult. That can be very frustrating, but as a community, we need to maintain our composure and set an example for the newer users that see how we act, how we handle conflict, and how we work together to form a community. Certain comments directed at users completely threw this concept out the window.
Then, after I thought that the small flaw in the community stronghold had been repaired, I discovered a plethora of comments about a fanon written by an anonymous Wikia contributor, directed at the lack of quality the fanon showed. And these comments weren't constructive comments. They weren't praise. They weren't instructions as to how to fix the quality. Most of them were out right rude, and derogatory. They were insulting to the author, even though there was some kind of mistakening with whom the author was.
Avatar Wiki is, or should be, a community. I strongly feel that these recent events have hindered our ability to act together in a positive manner. If we are to continue working together as a community, we need to learn to act in an appropriate manner to set a proper example for the newer community.
Now, onto a happier note. I have recently revamped an old fanon blog template. For more information, see here.
1. Q: What, in your opinion, sets you apart from other users to receive this honor?
A: I live in New Zealand. One proud Kiwi amongst a sea of various cultures :). There aren't many of those here, in fact I haven't seen one. But with my
editing, I think that I am strong at referencing articles, undoing
stupid edits, editing relationship articles from time to time, and
I'm quite clear with Wikia coding.
2. Q: What do you think most urgently needs to be done on the Wiki?
A: For everyone to come back. Seriously, I've been here for about half a year, and I've seen so many go. It saddens me. Editing wise, I think we're getting
into the habbit of starting conversations with comments again. Although
there is still a lot of edits, we should comment a bit less. ;)
3. Q: What areas of the Wiki do you contribute to most?
A: I think... Canon and Fanon are pretty equal, I don't edit to Film that
much... And templates occasionally, userspace yeah, occasionally. But over
all, Canon and Fanon are my main area.
4. Q: You’re quite an experienced user on the Wiki (obviously). What do you think of some of the newer, less experienced users? What do you do to help them acclimate to the atmosphere of the Wiki?
A: So many are getting used to things so fast! (faster than me...) I'd
already nominate them for rollback! (but I won’t). Some send me messages
asking for signature help or fanon help, and I'm always more than happy to
assist. :)
5. Q: You’re active on the Fanon portal with your own fan fiction. Do you think it gets as much (or less or more) attention than it deserves?
A: No, I give it a reasonable amount. Currently I have writer’s block, so
I'm just adding a little bit each day with the chapter not expanding very
much. But when I don't have writers block I do get chapters out pretty fast.
6. Q: Out of curiosity, what is your opinion on shipping, in general?
A: My thoughts on shipping... Well when I first came to this wiki, I had no idea at all what it was. So I searched it on Wikipedia... and yeah, found out. Shipping, in my opinion, is interesting. I like hearing peoples opinions on shipping, but what annoys me is when people say; "Oh, I like Zutara because Katara and Zuko are my favourites". I mean, come on... -.- That's just as bad as the tagline on the fanon shipping page! [And] Hahaha, well... KATAANG! :D Yeah, I'm a Kataanger. I guess with Zutara, I just love Maiko too much to not really care about it.
7. Q: What most do you want to see in Korra?
A: I want to see shippings. You, Sirius, know me and my shippings. I can be
a rabid shipper, when the time is right. I also want to see more awesome
characters, and another great storyline! And those Anti-Benders... I NEED to
know about them... Also... Ursa... Hmm...
My favorite fanon on this wiki is Alone. Recently, two chapters written by Dragon of The West came out. That sparked my interest. Here, I'm going to do a prediction of what will happen in this story!
From what I've read, Leah somehow meets up with Sierra again. Perhaps after she ran away, she went and got her, though I'm not sure how. What happens in between, I'm still not sure but I'm guessing they go to an Airbending colony in New York, from the chapter "Learning to Fly" and the image for it. I guess the Airbending colony is near the twin towers, and Morgan blows it up, to kill Leah because I guess something bad happened to him because of her at the end of Negotiations. Therefore, she'll die a similar way to Joel. If he fails, he will die and I think the story may continue. But if he succeeds, the story will end, at a heartbreaking place.
In the next issue of the BSST, I will write what I think happens, once I have read the released part of Book 2.
Zhao was a commander in the Fire Nation. He was a master Firebender, and he wanted complete power. He was delighted when Prince Zuko was banished from the Fire Nation. This gave him the chance to become even more powerful, perhaps the next Fire Lord.
Zhao was being promoted to admiral by Ozai when he decided he wanted to capture the Avatar himself. It became an almost never ending battle between him and Zuko trying to capture Aang. To find the Gaang, Zhao basically followed Zuko, taking advantage of his knowledge. Zhao planned to kill Zuko, leaving only him to capture the Avatar. Zuko luckily made it out of Zhao's death plot alive, but now he wanted revenge. Zuko began traveling to the Northern Water Tribe to find Aang and take revenge on Zhao.
Zhao had a first attempt at capturing Aang, in which he was successful... at first. Aang had been searching for medicine for Katara and Sokka when Zhao's men had captured him. He sent a message to the Fire Nation delighting in his deed. But Zhao's cocky attitude wouldn't last long. Aang had used his airbending-flexibility-stealth like skills to escape Zhao's grasp. Zhao became furious and had to reveal his shame to the rest of the nation.
After more failed attempts, Zhao traveled to the Northern Water Tribe to kill the Moon Spirit and take over the Water Tribes. Aang had become furious with Zhao after he successfully killed off the "magic fish". Later on in time Zhao had his last battle with Zuko and then was somewhat killed by the Moon Spirit.
In conclusion, Zhao was an average Fire Nation leader. Cold-blooded, hard-headed, and power hungry. He took advantage of people, conquered nations, and made a fool of himself. I'd have to give Zhao's character a B+.
Dear Reader,
This is a series of fan letters written by a few anonymous individuals to various members of the famous Team Avatar. I had express permission (at least I think I did) from each recipient to publish the letters, despite their initial mortification at reading them for themselves. Anyway, I hope you enjoy them.
Sincerely,
Harry Potter’s godmother
P.S. Some alternate ships are included.
Dear Katara,
I would like to pledge my loyalty and devotion to you! You have been an inspiration to me since the very day we met. If it was not for you, my father and I would still be eternally hopeless on that terrible prison rig! Do you now see what you mean to me? I know your current beau gags at Sea Prunes, but I don’t. Care to join me over a meal of Sea Prunes and roasted Possum Chicken?
Sincerely,
Mustache Man
Dear Aang,
Please tell me you’re not still with that floozie! I’ve been waiting around my village for the big-eared hunk to come around for a while, and he finally came! But, Aang, he just isn’t you. Besides, your ears are bigger yet! I miss you, and if you’re interested, I can steal that book of clouds for you again.
Sincerely,
The Psychic’s Assistant
Dear Sokka,
I know you’re my best girl-friend's boyfriend, but I couldn’t help noticing the way you swing your sword. And I love how you toss your boomerang. It always comes back! There’s just something so fantastic about a man that knows his weapons! Also, your jokes are so hilarious, and you’re even smarter than Princess Azula!
Sincerely,
Circus Freak
Moon Beam wrote an article in a previous issue about the “withouts” in Avatar. So, here is a continuation of it:
Iroh
Without Iroh… there would be no Katara. Iroh taught Zuko lightning redirection and Zuko used it to protect Katara in the finale. If Iroh didn’t teach Zuko lightning redirection, he wouldn’t have saved Katara and Katara would have… I would prefer not to say that.[1] Without Iroh, there would be no Jasmine Dragon and there would be no Kataang kiss (the last one). There are several points for this one and it would take me atleast an hour to list them all.
Ozai
Without Ozai? That’s totally silly. Without him, there couldn’t be any A:TLA. There always has to be really good guy and a really bad guy or even the greatest of shown will be bad. Here, he took the role of the really bad guy. Without him, Azula[2] and Zuko would never exist. There wouldn’t be Zuko’s scar and there wouldn’t be… uhh… So obviously, this idea is the silliest of all.
Roku
Just think about it. If Roku wasn’t out there, who will guide Aang? Who will tell him about the Avatar State? Who will defeat Zhao and the Fire Sages? (not the good User Group, the old traitors) There might be a “dues ex machina” though. Anyway, it would not be possible for the series to continue without Roku. So this “what if” is impossible even to imagine (I mean the show would be as bad as TLA if Roku wasn’t there).
Suki
You might think that nothing big will happen if Suki wasn’t there. But no fellow Sokka and Toph fans, just think about it a second time. If Suki wasn’t there, who will save Sokka and Toph with the hijacked airship in the finale? Who will save Appa and who will help Sokka stop mourning his loss of Yue? So, even though this seems to be a possible “what if’, this is seriously not possible.
So, if any of the characters, even the major ones, were not there, the series would never be as good as it is now.
The Ba Sing Se Times needs YOU.
Have a great Avatar or Avatar Wiki joke?
An interesting opinion about the wiki?
A fanfic that desperately needs readers? Just write a column, and send it in to the editor.
Editor's note: Watching this episode through while reading this column is recommended.
Chapter 13: The Blue Spirit A commentary and review (and some demotivation) of Book 1: Water, Chapter 13: The Blue Spirit.
Previously in Avatar: Emotions running W-I-L-D, and that’s to you, my “beary” wild friend. Aang needing a hug. Zuko needing a . . . well . . . imaginary hug.
So Zhao has once again found the Avatar. I’m sorry, how ridiculous is this? Okay, okay, let’s think for a second and assume that hey-ho Zhao’s not using Madame Lulu like Count Olaf, but that it’s just another coinkydink.
No.
Seriously.
Ridiculous.
Well, in the midst of all this ridiculousness, we get to see the very amazing Yu Yan Archers, also known as the most bad@$$ characters the Avatar world has to offer. How to become a Yu Yan Archer? It’s easy.
Have proof that you are, in fact, the most bad@$$ person you know.
Be able to withstand getting the tattoo. And you have to tattoo yourself.
Go up against a real Yu Yan Archer.
Die. Die painfully.
And if you don’t die, congratulations! Now we know your meat is suitable for sacrifice to the gods.
Aang, while stumbling around in the forest, can’t find gingerroot, thus failing the quest. He has a right to complain; it’s not his fault the local fox antelopes weren’t dropping what he needed. Instead, he finds a mysterious treasure chest; opening it, he reveals—
Ta-da!
Well goodness gracious, what could that be? Surely it’s not a—
It’s a map!
See, I told you to listen to the Consultant.
In the meantime, Aang is not at all concerned about finding a cure until holy diet shnapple Katara’s sick! Gotta run, gotta panic, gotta run around in a circle, gotta go cure Katara daangit!
Well, monkeyfeathers. He has to go cure his love interest.
Well, it’s Angela the Herbalist and Solembum, except Solembum is lookin’ purdy darn shabby. While Eragon Aang looks for some interesting things, Angela has her own schedule. You see, the cat always comes first. Solembum gets his din-din, also known as a magical potion that lets him destroy the Fire Nation, as we see in episode 115. And just you wait for the dragon bones.
We’ll see those next episode, silly.
In the meantime, however, Angela is a Zutarian, so instead of giving Aang a cure, she sends him off, hopefully to die.
What she doesn’t realize is that we’ve just entered the terrifying world of Zaang Shipping.
“It’s been over an hour, and you haven’t given the men an order!”
How dare he! Clearly, Zuko has to go around giving orders every three seconds. It’s how he makes himself feel better. Some people prefer talking to friends; some people prefer kissing; some people prefer watching others suffer and laughing in their faces, also known as my sister Azula.
And trust me, if living with an Azula isn’t enough, I’ve also got an Ozai and a Zhao with whom to contend.
Even Mai gets the drill. “You know what would make you feel better? Ordering some servants around!”
Now, the eternal question.
Which girlfriend? The clearly canon Mai or the clearly-not-into-him Katara?
[listens to the Zutara fans]
[sighs]
Can’t you all just . . . shut up or something? Just, like, do us a little favor?
See, at this point all the rage was between Kataang, Zutara, Hatara, and Jetara, not to mention Sokkatara and Motara, the only understandable ship in the entire show!
Well, well, well. Katara isn’t the only character capable of reproducing, and Aang’s had his ships, too. Maang, Kokaang, Kataang, On Jaang, and so on.
Zuko, as well. Throughout the series, we had Jinko, Zong, Maiko, and Zutara, though, of course, the most common ship was Fanko—that is, Zuko and a fangirl.
Well, well, well.
That’s all about to change.
Why?
Because this episode introduces my favorite crackship. Note. Crackship. As in, it’s a joke. I don’t actually ship it.
Just saying it by way of disclaimer.
Did you hear me?
I. Do. Not. Ship. Zaang.
That’s to you [cough cough the person who assumed I ship Zutara because of a single phrase in ABCLAF, a clearly Kataang fanon cough cough].
See, Zuko’s the emo boy, and Aang’s the “pink boy”. They’re obviously meant for each other. Why, you can see it clearly, can’t you?
[desperate rabid shippers’ voice]
Can’t you?!
Well, here we meet the Yu Yan, also known as Avatar’s Chuck Norrises, not counting Zuko, of course. These guys are so bad@$$, they went back in and both fathered and mothered themselves. And while they’re at it, they are also the direct reason for why you exist.
One day, one of the Archers used the restroom. From that stream of urine came you. That is how insignificant you are to the Archers. You are made of their urine.
Their freaking name means jade eye. I mean, come on!
Okay. I want you to take a look at that picture really quickly. What does that look like to you? I don’t know, but to me it doesn’t look like anything.
So let me tell you what the Yu Yans are up to.
Er.
To what the Yu Yans are up.
And don’t correct me, KFAJ. Don’t you dare.
That is a completely vertical cliff.
Completely.
Vertical.
Spirits, the music is enough to make you terrified, but oh my my my.
They are falling down a vertical wall, and they look like that.
The archers then fire rope-arrows into the trees and just start swinging.
And their faces never change.
It’s like a bad rerun of Transformers: Energon, except that at least those had two expression: Mouth open and mouth closed.
In the meantime, Katara is most definitely, definitely sick, but she doesn’t go delusional. So . . . question . . . is this disease sexist or something? Does it only attack males with delusion? Is that it? Do females just get the cold bits? What, disease, think we females can’t take it?
Huh?
Huh?!
Also, remember, quite nearby is a fisherman who also weathered the storm. And guess what? That’s right. He should be sick too, but apparently he dies because I don’t think they have any frozen frogs or Angelas over there.
You know, the first time I watched the episode, I thought that the Blue Spirit had sent that messenger hawk earlier.
Anyway.
So this is the Blue Spirit. Gee, I wonder who could be behind the mask; never mind that you can hear Zuko’s Theme/Fire Nation Theme as part of the song that follows.
That, in fact, was what made me realize it in the first place.
So, with that blunder aside, the Blue Spirit completely and utterly just sneaks them everyone. So how does he get from the undercarriage to the inside in about three seconds?
And finally, when they go to unload, the Blue Spirit just runs right out like a crazy daredevil or something. Surely someone must have seen him race across the freaking unloading area into one of the towers!
I'd like to note that in the following rant, I have censored some of it due to KFAJ's request. Sorry, Monkeyfeathers.
“Like where does Aang keep of his junk? Like his staff [TAD started giggling uncontrollably at this point], all the money, and crap. It’s like he always has his staff with him, even if he doesn’t. Against the laws of physics, Bryke! What is wrong with you?! What?! We saw in 1.9 that he apparently has a kangaroo pouch thing in his pants, but that’s disturbing. This show is sick. What do you make this show sick, Bryke? What?! What?!”
If you hear any disturbing noises or see the ripped-off helmet of a dead, wounded, or kidnapped fellow guard roll past you, please blow the horn.
Afterwards, remain at your posts until reinforcements arrive.
At this point, leaving five or six guards at the door, take a team of four or five to investigate the disturbance.
Protocol for these guys?
If you hear any disturbing noises or see the ripped-off helmet of a dead, wounded, or kidnapped fellow guard roll past you, just send in one guard to check it out. Listen to his screaming.
Afterwards, sent two and let them both be knocked unconscious.
At that point, please attempt to blow the horn which now has a knife through it. Be beaten by a bucket. Because walrus buckets give you +400 DEF, of course.
So Aang totally had a clear shot to the outside. Instead of, I don’t know, taking it, he grabbed a spear—a lethal weapon—turned around, went to the effort of breaking off the head, and raced back to help the Blue Spirit.
Zaangers: “It’s proof that Aang loves him! Aang would die for him!”
Me: “. . . eh?”
Why are bad guys so expendable here? They don’t even die! They just get blown away, and that’s it. What then? Do they just leave because they’ve suddenly turned into cows or something?
And all right. A quick cup of coffee.
And if you get both references, you get a spinach puff!
Right. If I say anything about this picture, it’s going to be deleted, so I’ll just keep my mind in the gutter over here and my blog safely on the Wiki.
Here’s to you, Buttongoo.
Riding on a wave of innuendo, the [censored censored censored censored censored censored]. Naturally, this isn’t the sort of thing to be put into a kid’s show, so they sort of downplayed by pretending Aang had been c-------d.
See, Zhao doesn’t really give a monkeyfeather; he just wants to show off those Yu Yan Archers of his, and he knows it.
And now, the Blue Spirit’s folly. Well, number one, that entire scene is very disturbing if you think like me. Two, didn’t he think something like this was going to happen?!
Well, the Yu Yan Archers are so bad@$$, they don’t even speak. It’s a bunch of mutes.
“You . . . you mean that masked spirit that [censored censored censored], he was Zuko?! It’s a dream come true!”
And now Avatar can finally degrade into that Romeo and Juliet-style sitcom everyone wants to watch. Well, Aang reaches over the Blue Spirit’s body, removes the mask all careful-like, and stares into the fact of his lover worst enemy. Wait. Is there a difference?
[refrains from making a really tasteless Agni Kai joke]
Both Zuko and Aang are being emo. Aang needs a hug.
Sokka: “Aang, how was your trip? Did you make any new friends?”
Aang: “No, I don't think I did.”
Me: [pops out of nowhere] “Oooh yes you diiiid!”
If they were Transformers, I’d make a sparkbond joke, and if you get the joke, wtf are you doing reading Transformers fanfictions, and I dearly hope that they weren’t MOP ones.
Drum roll please! I said drum roll please!
This is our very second episode which is a 5!
I don’t even feel like I need to explain myself here. It was just an altogether perfect episode. It introduces the fact that Zuko is an anti-hero, not just a villain. And at the end, when Aang saves his rear end, Zuko Firebends at him, but Zuko isn’t angry afterwards. It’s as if they’ve reached an understanding of respect.
What are your thoughts on the episode? No flaming!
See you next time!

Image cache issues, such as those encountered when re-uploading an image or choosing a new avatar, have been fixed by Wikia. If you are still seeing problems, try clearing the entirety of your browser cache first. (This can be done in your browser options, usually in the same dialogue that is used to clear browsing history.) If this doesn't work either, you should contact Wikia with specific details.
Comment highlighting has been fixed for good by yours truly. The CSS that the highlighting is based on contained a mistake that meant that browsers that allow for fewer coding errors, such as Chrome (this is actually a good thing), would sometimes highlight non-admin comments.
Anonymous users are no longer marked as "A Wikia contributor". This is intended to be less confusing, as a more objective term is used.
Log warnings have been given coloured backgrounds by yours truly, a minor change. An example of where these are displayed is when users edit a protected page.

Haha! Yes, Katara fans unite! Thank you for your welcome. May I ask, when do you think the next chapter of EoK will be out? Rabid fan, right here. =] Veerallin (talk • contribs) 02:05, June 12, 2011 (UTC)
Either way, I can't wait to read it! Yes, I have been an EoK fan for quite a while. =] Veerallin (talk • contribs) 02:20, June 12, 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, I know the wiki will be fine, I just don't like the fact that it needed to end like this... If she would review the facts it's just going to be ugly for everyone, because a lot of people said things that they shouldn't have, not only Lssj. And in the end it wouldn't change a thing, maybe just a remark that we all should watch our language. I can't help but feel a bit sad because of this whole situation. I'm not so sure it's going to even come to that, Lady. Seriously; don't worry about it. Everything will be fine; and nothing 'big' will happen at all. It's just troublesome that LSSJ cannot settle his/her own disputes with us when we are conversing. Some things said were out of line - but those were apologized. There is nothing anyone has to fear. You're probably right. I tried to talk him out of it, but it was to no use. Oh well, on to more important this again I guess, like eating cookies and improving the wiki :-) LadyLostris 22:20, June 12, 2011 (UTC)
Hi Vulmy. You locked that blog of Lssj4 but can't he unlock it again? Or did you do something so that he can't edit it? – Natsu11 · (wall • Avatar Answers) 05:47, June 13, 2011 (UTC)
I made it clear it was closed, and simply turned off comments. It being unlocked should not happen. If it does; it's a bridge I will cover with him. Don't worry about it Natsu. :) Vulmen (talk • contribs) 05:49, June 13, 2011 (UTC)
Hello Vulmen - thanks for reminding me of the image policy. I was careless, but I read the policy and I will observe the rules in the future. Have a nice day! SchivaFirebender
Absolutely no problem Schiva. If you have any questions or how to use images if something isn't clear, ask away! :) Vulmen (talk • contribs) 01:05, June 14, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks Vulmen :D (this is my only free time to edit the wiki :|)
Btw, my mon said she will buy a PS3 for me tomorrow, i'm so happy!! :) Renata Talk - Survivor 22:31, June 14, 2011 (UTC)
Hello, Vulmen. I wanted to thank you for what you said to Kaizuh; it means a lot. However, I do want to say that I also said a few mean things to Kaizuh. While I am not trying to defend him, as I felt what he said was over the top, I must be honest and say that there were probably a couple of things that I shouldn't have said. Anyways, I just wanted to thank you.MRtGThe Evil Within 03:14, June 16, 2011 (UTC)
