Y'know...it's interesting that only you and PSU gave a review of the page. x.x'
Anyway. Sure; I'd still look over it, however ... there is a point to be made about having a member on the SC who is (mostly) inactive. As such maybe I should be removed so someone who is more active and up-to-date in the current ins and outs gets a shot at it.
Yeah . . . though I really think that's undeserving as Aang's page is good ^^.
Since the SC is mostly inactive now anyway, Aang's page has been the first in month, I don't know if we really need more members again (though I haven't discussed this with the others), though it would still mean that you and Dc would be removed due to relative inactivity if you don't mind.
-nods- I completely understand M'Lady. And I think there's reason to suggest it, as well. I mean; if I'm not active - such as not keeping up with the forums that pass that implement changes site-wide - then I'm missing details of how the site currently operates. I'm not sure I can feasibly say articles are "A class" if I don't know to check off those little details spread through forum changes.
Sorry! But there's certainly no trouble from me to take me off the list...so no, I won't mind nor feel put out by it.
Hey Bumi man! Sorry for the delay in response, I've been trying to message you earlier but the wiki's been messed up and not letting me do it. Well if there's something that will never change, it's wikia running into bugs!
I've been fine. Ups and downs and all arounds but I'm doing well. I'm not exactly "here" like I had been before; nope. I'm quite inactive now but still present in that I hear of news going on for the wiki and sometimes read stuff, and I'm anticipating the next Avatar info just like anybody else. Nice of you to remember me and stop by to say hi :) How're things going for you?
I read 'The Hobbit' a long time ago - before I had read The Lord of the Rings trilogy. I did not read the books as they were re-written with the airing of the movies, so I read the originals in paperback form. It was a very good read!
Hah! Yeah, I'm a Tolkien fan! It's just a pity that I didn't get a chance to read LOTR before the movies were made. :| I've started on The Silmarillion now, have you read it? :D
It's a pity eh? I'm taking it however that you did eventually read the books. :P I've never read the Silmarillion, but I've seen some of it and read about it before and ... frankly I probably wouldn't be able to sit through it. I do believe it's quite awesome that he released all his various thoughts that didn't make it into the books, however it all sounds like a hodge-podge of events that wouldn't hold my interest.
It is awesome. But, I can't say; I haven't finished it yet. I'm really interested in it, and besides, the beginning is very.. grand, epic! I'm not exactly sure how to describe it. It may be a hodge-podge but it holds my interest well enough. :D
Also, have you gotten a disc of AUJ? I have! Just the other day (Apr 1). And I'm excited for news about DOS and the movie itself. :P
You have a lot of activity on that nony account there, Godsrule. ^^" Y'know you could see about logging in once in awhile hehehe.
But yeah; homeschooled all my life...never in public school, except to take end-of-the-year tests. In some ways, I like that. In others...I kinda don't. I'm not sure. I like how self-disciplined I am, and kinda blame the way I was homeschooled for that - even so far as my mother having me grade my own work in the later grades. But I did miss out on a lot of social possibilities. -shrug- It is what it is, I like that I was. How about you?
Sorry for the late reply, nony's don't get notifications and I've just learnt python so i've been busy with that. I also saw the Hobbit. I. Loved. It. I saw it in IMAX 3d with two friends and no one else it the theater. Just the three of us. Which brings me to Radagast. What were your thoughts on his inclusion? I felt it unneeded and distracting.
Onto homeschooling. I'm still homeschooled but I was in private. Just for 1st and 2nd. I like homeschool much better. The test I take at hime w/ my mom. Grading work, I do that often. I like it too. (wow this is like one of the longest message wall pots I've ever made!)
Totally forgiven; and I can be just as guilty quite easily. :) I'm bad with that, but eventually I do come around. hehe. - Ahem. PYTHON? You know how to code? Thrifty! Oh wait, you just learned it. So uh, hm. How do you like coding, then? Know much of it? Struggling? I so love to code. Sometimes my line of work has me dig into doing some coding (not with such languages usually though =/) - it's hardly like I'm working, I enjoy solving those problems. ^^'
Oh; y'know, good point. On one hand I really did like Radagast's introduction, because it shown the finer details and differences between wizards, something we don't really get a lot of outside of "Gandalf" / "Saruman." However, in terms of movie time, purpose, and content...Radagast's introduction was utterly unnecessary and time wasteful. Yes, it was good setup to show they knew of the imminent danger. No, his goofiness and running all around the screen did nothing to further the story or mood/setting - but rather, detract from the scene. Sad, really. :/
Hehe; longest message ever? Trust me, it gets longer. If ya ever keep it up; you'll see. lol
(So sorry to butt in, but I mean no disrespect! Just can't help commenting.)
I'm homeschooled too! I like it better too. :) I've read the book and watched the movie (TH:AUJ)! I'm a big fan and I personally don't think Radagast was a waste of time, eventhough he never did appear in any of the books. He was very funny and I liked his screen time. Although yes, when I look at it from a more objective view, his appearance might be a waste of time and a disruption in the pace and flow. :D Have you guys read the book? (Don't need to answer me; I'm not really in the conversation. Just got very curious and excited.)
@Vulmen Yes, I've learned Python, not to mention JavaScript and superficial amounts of HTML. I personally find Python better not only because it is easier to debug but also easier to write. But that is me. What languages do you know>
As for Radagast, he was funny during the event but seemed like they were pushing to make the film longer. I haven't seen LOTR so I can't make any judgments on how he would impact LOTR by being in TH:AUJ.
@Godsrule, well no, I didn't. I haven't even heard of them until now. Wow! You've learned Python. Wonderful, I learned a bit of it myself. It's fun, at least what I know (I've only done the easier part of Zed's book, haha.) Amazing! JavaScript and HTML, you're like my dad!
Btw, Radagast was important in being part of bringing about the introduction of Dol Guldur, the Witch King of Angmar, and the Necromancer. For me, the Rhosgobel Rabbits and the Dol Guldur sceens were cool! The introduction and early establishment of the Necromancer, and the connection of the Witch King in Dol Guldur to LOTR were great! Impressssive movie, Preciouss!
@TechFilmer Ah; nice. You've gotten into a lot of coding then; tasted a lot of different environments. ;) I honestly don't consider HTML/a lot of web designing to be the kind of deep coding possible, it's just a portion of possibility limited due to the danger of browsers.
What languages do I know? Heh. What languages do I remember is more of the question, I've played around, tested, been educated and such with several various ones but I can't exactly perform well in all of them. Some of which are: Ada, C++, Java, JavaScript, HTML, PHP, PL/SQL, UNIX/Linux shell environments, Windows .bat file environments, VisualBasic ... maybe others but that's the list I can remember atm.
Primarily though; I'm better in Java (love it), JavaScript, PHP/HTML, PL/SQL and UNIX/Linux shell environments.
@PreservationsWings ...making a game? Care to explain? Is it a game where you are the only developer- what are you designing? I've made a few games before as well but nothing "grand-scale"
Heh; I coded a game once that involved making some AI that could logically move through an area to target destinations, then revert back to random patterns. That was fun and all but - zombie apocalypse? Sounds like you are going a bit grand-scale. That doesn't sound small ^^"
I DIDN'T SEE THIS TOPIC SO THEREFORE I AM JUSTIFYING MY RUDE BUTTING IN!
So wait...this makes eight of us? :o Who wants a one-shot fanfic about Team Homeschooled? :P Because I know I do.
How many of you guys used/are using a curriculum? My mom doesn't just do her own thing, I receive books and lesson plans from a place called Seton Homestudy School. It's a bit like correspondance courses. I do a lot of my stuff online. How do you all go about your ed-joo-mah-kay-shun? :D
Yeah it was a curriculum I went through too, not just "my own thing." I would imagine if a parent tried to teach their kid "by their own standards" they would have a heckuva hard time, because they are held accountable for the child's learning. This is shown by end-of-year tests the school hosts, and if the child continually fails them he/she is forced to attend public school and the parent can no longer teach. There's probably more requirements that get laid on their heads too, parents already have to pay enough to get all the books and material to start with.
And ofc you know that I'm far far finished with all that schooling, what with in a job and all now. How I 'went' with that though, my mother had me grading myself by the time I was in 11th grade- she wasn't my teacher or anything, didn't double-check me, etc. I did all of that myself. Lord it took forever, since I was already such a slow reader. x_x' I hated how long it took me.
A fanfic about us as homeschoolers? If it's anything like the full-day I spent in front of the books, it'd be tediously boring to read through. :)
@Wings. Ah, well, okay then that kinda coding sounds MUCH simpler than what I had in mind. xD Still it's fun to do such a thing, and that also means you had to have your application handle "different states" of gameplay, switching from the ability to explore to going into turn-based combat. Fun to test around with ;)
wow this reply is laaaaaate. My mom mix and matches curriculum for me, I don't follow just one thing. It's not that hard IMO, somethings like history for me I'm behind but I'm ahead in science just using one curriculum would have been hard for me.
Cool, I'm not old enough for that yet :P
That would be boring :P
I'me actually learning C/C++ for Arduino - I'm building an Arduino, writing the code and building he whole thing my self.
I notice that you aren't as active as you use to be. I was wondering if you would let me use your account, since you aren't as active. I plan on being a very active wikian, not on Avatar wiki, but another, and I like 'Vulmen' as a username. This is only if you don't have plans to be an active user on Avatar wiki again, and if you still want to keep your account, I'm okay with that. This is just a proposal. If possible, I would ask to get badge reset and such, so people won't think that all of your contributions are mine.
It is true that I'm very much not active as I used to be, however no, I don't wish to let others make use of my account. Sorry.
Question. Why do you want to use 'Vulmen'? And what made you think of it - just seeing my username and comments around? I'm curious because the name is something that I created, and at the time it was to my knowledge the most unique name I'd ever seen.
That's kind of it; seeing it around, I was like "Wow, I wish this could be my username!", and, in a coincidence, I saw that you weren't as active as usual (from messages below), so...I came here with this proposal.
That was totally awesome. I can't believe just how much they stuck to the book! Yes, I watched it the day of the opening. Sadly I ended up going by myself...but oh well, what else is new. It was definitely worth going to watch anyway :)
I gotta say I'm happy with the way the movie was created and played out. It did a very good job setting up the story and shaping the characters, I only hope they keep up the good work for the remainder of the series! And lol; Radagast...
I hope you're doing alright; it's been a while since we last spoke... And plus you seem to be slipping into inactivity, which is quite a shame. Don't get that "Inactive" notification on the side of your username, at the very least ^^
I am wondering if you ever got into the PS2 beta? If you did, we should definitely arrange something online! But yea, I just wanted to say, keep in touch with the wiki, and reply on a timely basis, damnit :p
Oh-ho, ouch! You ask how I'm doing, then proceed to cussing me. I'm hurt!
Nah, jk, it's all fine. ^^" What's it take to earn the "Inactive" tag anyway? I made an edit like yesterday or so, not really sure. And yeah that's right...I know I've slipped off. I'm doing very much alright, though. Got a good friend and spending a good deal of time away from the PC. Several things going on with family, including an illness that we're planning a trip for. I've had to play PC Tech repairman, trying to fix a laptop that will no longer boot into Windows 7. (I suspect hard drive failure)
And erm, yeah some of the time I get on my PC I've actually been watching One Tree Hill. -hides- ^.^" Lady got me into it, and I've been sharing it around to people I know for awhile. It's a wonderful series.
I actually only just recently (yesterday?) got beta access to PS2. It's a massive download. I still gotta get it running and get the feel for it, maybe after that we can meet up- via email, not here, of course. I don't promise I'll be on it all that much though, but it doesn't hurt to take the time to check it out a bit. :)
Good to hear that you're mostly doing fine! And if cussing is what it takes to keep people active, then so shall it be! ^^
I'm not to sure how one would get an inactive tag... I've never been inactive myself! But I'll take a look into it. An illness, one that warrants an entire trip? Sounds serious - I hope your relative is doing alright. Hard drive failure, eh! I guess you'll have to replace it? (Yea, yea, I know nothing about computer hardware, but hey, that's why you are the IT guy :p)
One Tree Hill? That high-school drama flick? Well, I don't really know anything much more about it other than that (so I can't judge you... Yet :p) But, I am not surprised LL recommended it to you - she watches all sorts of random shows and movies xD
Excellent, you have access! It doesn't really matter if you'll be on often, though I think you will like it, since I myself haven't logged on for weeks due to exams and university taking over my life and times... But yea, we should meet up in-game at some point, ideally before the 25th! See, that's when I'm going to Vancouver to freeze my ears off for 6 weeks... Though, I will be checking out Los Angeles in between. That's what I got planned (for now). Oh, and as a conclusion, I was looking at this right before typing this reply! How interesting!
...know what? I have yet to this day to open up PS2. Downloaded it, installed it, but just have never yet gotten around to playing it. Sorry KMP. ^^" Back from the trip now; and the result came back from the surgery my family member needed - cancer free! Yay! :)
My dad's laptop was a mess. In the end I got it working by removing its DVD drive. Yep; pulled it right out of there and it booted up again. Well, I had to take the laptop apart first to get to it, technicalities. Apparently the drive went bad and was crashing the whole computer. So hey; it turns on again. Score one for IT guy :D
I've seen a whole lot of random movies too, and spent lots of time with family, and went on a trip to Florida, and - well, I squander my time away in various things. lol. Well it gives me somethin' to do. Do you still even load up PS2? Kinda funny that I never opened it. Hope you had a great time in Vancouver! Well, unless maybe you're still there. Oh wait; you are, six weeks hasn't gone by. Well then, I hope you have ear muffs, keep your ears warm and attached! :)
I got back from Vancouver and LA a while ago, and I just remembered reading this while I was there! Apologies, since I forgot about it for so long, but hey, at least I didn't just perma-forget ^^
Downloading but no playing? Ah well. I actually haven't played it all the much either... Just went into playing some popular RPGs on a console. And the illness was cancer? Yikes. I am quite glad to hear that your relative is doing alright - such a horrible disease, that is.
Hehe, IT guy wins the day! Wish I could do that with my laptop hardware - just take it apart and know what to do with all the pieces xD Cos boy, that would be far better than shelling out $200 for a repair.
Random movies? I do random YouTube vids! So good for when TV just bores you, movies get too cliche, and you are not in the mood to talk to people. And I did have a great time! Those Canadians sure know how to build their cold, snowy, forest-y, enviro-friendly cities. New years as Disneyland wasn't so bad either, and I got to see Universal Studios! Though, if you ever decide to go, don't do it in December... The lines were terrible :O
Haha... how dare you forget me! ...no I don't mind, you did come back so -high five- ^-^
What popular RPGs? -quirks eyebrows curiously- And yeah, tell me about it! I love working with computers, doing all this stuff myself. This computer I'm using right now ... I put it together myself. :D Just ordered the parts and did all the assembly, even loaded the software on it - it was a blank hard drive. I highly prefer putting all the components in that I want. :)
I've been to Disneyland before - and rode Space Mountain. That. Thing. Is. FUUUUUUUN. :D Yeah there were people all around but, it wasn't December, probably not near as bad as you had it. :P By the by; shall we set up another time to try PS2 together? Maybe a coming weekend or something? ...er, well I just tested logging in and it can't connect. -.-' let me know; I'll try to fix it.
@Godsrule: We're all on youtube, just, most of us are watchers and not uploaders ^^"
Well, Skyrim mainly. I haven't played it in a long time too, and I started casually a few days ago! And as for computers, I am probably the opposite of you... I'm more into the software if anything - can't get my head around doing all the assembly and stuff, I probably would just screw it up somehow ^^
OMG, Space Mountain! I absolutely loved that ride... When we got there, the line was an hour or two long, but FastPasses ftw! The entire future land bit of the park was amazing, really. And yes, we should try PS2! Getting the logging in and connecting bit to go would be fairly important :p
Hello kitty kat! :) I've been doing great, very great. Quite happy and also bogged down with lots to do- I haven't even been home half the time and each weekend so far has found my days absolutely stuffed with being out places. Sometimes not so good things; having to help family out of some very difficult situations, and other times totally fun stuff- like going bowling with my neighbor and spending the whole day just hanging out.
Hope you've been doing well too. Oh, and what's this, "Adaline"? ^^'
