  • I remembered this site and then remembered that you hate Zuko and see Azula as more moral than him or something. Why is that? I'm curious.

    • Hey! Sorry haha I have been gone for so long, and I probably won't stick around for long after this.

Anyway, I changed my views drastically. I think that Zuko, especially in "The Legend of Korra," has massively changed into a wise, kind, and level-headed man.

Nah, I never saw Azula as more moral than him at all. That would be ridiculous. I saw them as about equally bad people, but Zuko got massive guidance and was lucky enough to have three years away from Ozai's corrupt influence.

Azula, on the other hand, had no one like Iroh or Ursa (their mom) in her life, so she was definitely not more moral at all, but she was far unluckier and far less properly guided. Just my opinion.

Anyway, I've massively changed my views on Zuko in both A:TLAB and TLOK. He's one of my favorite characters now. Up there for me with Iroh, Katara, Sokka, Korra, and Tarrlok.

I like him better than Azula now, too. But I never thought that she was more moral.

But I did think that she was better at understanding people than he was (before he joined Team Avatar), but that massively changed when he started listening to Sokka's problems and helping him, helped Katara find the man who killed her mom and was there for her, and then finally went to see his uncle and apologized.

    • What did you think of the finale?? It's so sad to see Korra so weak and vulnerable now...she has been through a lot in past season finales...but she's always come out strong. The part where she sheds a tear at the end, confined to a wheelchair makes her seem like a totally different person....idk if Book 4 will be about her recovering or if she will recover for the most part by the time Book 4 comes about. I really feel like she will never recover from what has happened...and that a very small part of her will be weaker than before for sure. I think that Book 4 might focus a lot on some of the after effects of the Red Lotus' revolution...like how Ba Sing Se is doing now that they have to ruler, etc. But hopefully we see more of Zuko! :D

Zaheer is so badass....he always was....but the whole unlocking flight thing was just straight up insane....in thousands of years, he's the only person to acheive this. I feel like Zaheer has really opened another door to how airbending can be used. Up until now, airbending seemed to me as the weakest form of bending since it's so pacifistic when compared to earth, fire, or water. But this whole season, he's shown people how deadly airbending can really be...like suffocating a person by literally removing all the air in their lungs and around them. Plus, it was cool to see how airbending can be used so awesomely in a fight (like when Tenzin and Zaheer battled it out).

    • Yo, I'm sorry. Took me forever to respond. I agree that it's sad to see Korra like this. She got really good in Season 3. I hate when people trash her for no damn reason. She's a boss.

I don’t know why people are complaining about Korra’s fight with Kuvira. Did you guys really just expect “oh, she got the poison out of her, she’s magically back to exactly how she was before the poison?" It’s not that simple. She’s still been out of practice for three years. Not to mention that when you literally pull something out of your body, it’s definitely gone for sure and it won’t keep causing damage, but the effects that have been caused by it will definitely stick around for a while before eventually disappearing. It’s not like the moment that you get mercury out of your body, it’s as if the mercury was never there. Korra clearly has some training to do before she’s ready for a real fight. Not to mention that Korra didn’t even want to fight

People seem to be forgetting that, if you don’t practice something fort a while, then you’re going to be rusty for sure. Think of it this way:

You play a certain sport. Let’s say, for the sake of discussion, soccer. You break both your legs and can’t play for a year.

Why would anyone expect you to be perfectly back to tip top shape in playing? You still have some practice and recovery to make? Your legs are no longer broken after a year and, thus, you definitely have the ability to practice and climb your way back up to success, but to expect to achieve it right after healing is foolish.

I think that Korra’s whole thing with fighting is very realistically done.

Plus, as we clearly saw when she starting whooping Kuvira’s ass in Avatar State, she still has a lot of emotional and spiritual turmoil and unbalance accompanied by her post traumatic stress disorder. Her body is physically helaed, but she needs to mentally and spiritually heal herself, as well, and then she needs to practice and train so that she can regain her skill from before the poisoning.

I thought that Korra being out of shape and rusty in fighting would be extremely obvious.

BUT WHOA DUDE ZAHEER HELPED KORRA! :D

    • Damn, I hadn't expected you to ever notice this, haha. Good points all round, though you may be underestimating his innate compassion a little with the alternate Azula path. That isn't to say that without Iroh, Katara, other experiences and to a lesser extent Ursa he would have turned out in a good state of mind at all-but not that level.

Always good to see some appreciation for Tarrlok. It's been my (not entirely serious) headcanon for some time now that Lord Zuko is running a 'redemption academy' in the spirit world with Noatak,Tarrlok,Unalaq,Zaheer and Kuvira as his students. Uncle Iroh also frequents. Kuruk and Kuei are the professors of smaller scale self-betterment. As for Azula, we'll see how that goes. I'm still in the equivalent of high school, and I can sometimes be unfair in judging her, and sometimes not. We'll see how it goes.

I really had not thought you would ever notice this, lol.

    • Haha that's not unreasonable to assume, because I haven't been on here much in the past few years. And I probably won't be here again later on, honestly. You may not hear from me much after this haha I'm busy.

Well, I would still say that, throughout the series, he definitely did lack compassion for Azula (and earlier on, Mai and Ty Lee, but that changed later). However, in the comics, he was significantly better with understanding that she also cared about their mom and telling her that he loved her no matter what because she was his sister. And then eventually when he and Katara talked again and I just think that he ebcame really good at empathizing in the comics. In the beginning of Season 3, terrible. End of Season 3, good. Comics, great.

That's cool about your fanon :D

Oh haha how old are you? I'm 21.

  • finally watched the new LoK episodes... and they weren't as bad as I expected them to be. I mean sure, they had some pretty wacky/ridiculous moments, but the storyline wasn't half that bad.

    Whatdya think?
