Finally! Sorry it took so long to respond Fruipit, technical difficulties.
Anyway, it reveals Ozai's and Ursa's ages on page 232. It says that Ozai was thirty when he married Ursa and she was 21. Since we know Azulon's age I calculated the birth years of the other two from there, as it was revealed he was 85 as this all took place.
Hello Corin, how have you been man? It's been a very long time, you still around old friend?
Hope we can touch base again soon. I've suddenly felt an urge to return to the AW and hoping some of you guys are still left around here. Wanted to come to you first, I hope you have been well this summer. Dunno how I intend to make a full return, but hopefully soon I can. I've caught up on Book 2 and almost all of Book 3 of Korra. Maybe we can discuss both more sometime.
Talk to you soon man if you get this message, take care.
Yeah, and I, well I've been so much less active here since they killed the comments section of each page. Still not their best move if you ask me, but I digress. I don't know what there is for me to edit lately either.
Anyway, we said we would talk about book 2 and on so dammit let's do it! So what'd you think of Beginnings, I know that's probably the point in that book it became something for you, it did for most, including myself. Before episode 7 I wasn't too invested.
Beginnings was not my favorite episode(s) of the season, but it was overall quite good. I guess I can see why people got so excited over it and the story and animation were both fascinating as they told us about Wan. And the season really does pick up bigtime after that two-parter. There were some very frustrating episodes in the first half but it soon rebounded.
I don't think it is, I'm feeling a lot better now, although, not 100%. Thank you. :)
I completely agree, even though I do love Beginnings, But the four part fiale (because that's pretty much what it was) were probably my favorite. But I'm not a fan of Civil Wars, Peacekeepers and The Sting, so I'm with you there. What was your favorite episode?
I strongly disliked Rebel Spirts, Peacekeepers, and The Sting as well. Too many old annoyances found in those, and they are clumsy and sloppy. And way too much of the modern stuff that I detest for my taste.
But that's only three episodes compared to the 9 or 10 from Book 1 I disliked.
The Guide and the final four episodes were all pretty awesome.
That's expected, I think a lot of people hate the first one, and I know EVERYBODY! hates Peacekeepers, including myself. I didn't have any gripes with The Sting (except the bloddy love triangle >.<) but that's just me, I know what you like and don't like, so I get your angle on the subject.
I agree! I thought the ending was wonderful! It was very powerful and just stunning to look at! Thankfully, Studio Mir came back for those and the rest of the books!
What have you thought book 3 thus far, have you finished it? Personally, Book 3 is my favorite so far! It's wonderful! I love it! But what really made this season for me is the insanely cool villains, although, I hate that they are wasted as characters.
No, I remember when it aired, everyone hated it, and even the animation seemed to take a down turn an no one liked it.
When The Sting came out, everyone was still reeling from Peacekeepers and anything seemed like an improvement. But there is no doubting the heart of book 2 was the ending, it just took us forever to get there.
Well that was when Studio Pierrot was still at it, and most didn't seem to care for their work. And actually Peacekeepers got the lowest viewership of that season, but that was probably just the schedule change that caused that.
Yep, the entire second half was more or less phenomenal.
It was painful. I did not enjoy it. Too much of the stuff you know I hate about this second series.
Book 2 is definitely the season that won me back, mostly thanks to its second half. It really helped make Korra feel like a legit Avatar, because early on I had a hard time buying it. And that's speaking as someone who genuinely liked her even in Book 1.
Dangerous which is great, but their philosophy is inherently flawed and impossible to fully realize, people will inevitably look for leadership in times of crisis because that's a naturally occuring part of humanity to rely on leadership.
Yes, Lin and her family are one of the season's stronger points, and that's speaking as someone who despised Lin until this season finally aired. Finally seeing a more human side to her makes her easier to watch.
I forget, do you live in NY? If you don't let me explain, there's a branch of shops called Stewart's that specialize in dairy products, an is pretty much an ice cream parlour too. I made a milkshake for a lady yesterday and the freaking thing decided to splash everything, everywhere including on me. -_-
I didn't episodes 3- 6 leaked on mundonick.com in their entirety.
But how have you been in the long run, I finally moved in, now I just need to settle and buy a bunch of hangers and dumb stuff. I've been working (with evil ice cream machines (err).) And been thinking about ressurecting my fanon for realzies this time. HBU?
Which particular clips? They don't have to be specific, we know we don't want to violate spoiler policy, just give it general like you are playing Clue. You know like "Mrs. Peacock, in the library, with the candlestick." or "Amon, in monument, being a creep." xD
Unless I missed something, are the Dai Li seriously still an active and legit force in Ba Sing Se? You'd think the Earth Kingdom would've done away with them completely after their betrayal. Unless they're actually an underground force now.
I'm going to sit here and teehee because I know too, I'm sorry Fire Eater. Also, I'd like to say one of the things I'm most excited about is the amount of bending there is, there is a ton, probably more than the Book 1, and as equally as heavy as the end of book 2. But the best part, it's freaking spectacular, the battles remind me of one of my favorite battles, Team Avatar storming the earth kindgom palace. It's like that but all season (I hope) there was a great battle in every leaked episode I saw (which was all of them.)
I agree, also another thing that I'd like to bring up (caus' it's connected) is Korasami. Holy crap Korasami is in my oppinion one of the best relationships in this show, and book 2 Asami was pretty much forgotten. However, in book 3...
The most logical theory of the new airbenders is because of Korra's allowance of the Harmonic Convergence, and her leaving the spirit portals open, thus the two worlds energy combining. The physical world is now much more spirtually balanced and this may have caused the new influx of airbenders.
Now if you don't think Korra is a badass queen for re forming an entire lost nation, then gtfo of my face. XD Also, she's the first Avatar to lean metalbending. :D
I agree, I don't know if you know the Walker brothers (Doug and Rob) but I follow them on Facebook and Rob's status was to the effect of "these three new episodes have better writing than both books 1 and 2, and I don't even hate the writing in those seasons." And I was like, he's right, really really right. Other than that:
I thought the criminals were brilliant, they suck you in.
The scenery (including the prisions) is awesome!
The plot (what we know) is really interesting.
The voice work is wonderful.
The comedy is spot on, I actually like Bolin's jokes for once.
And no love triangles, and Mako's not such a douche!
Omfg all of those! Korra herself is such ana amzing character ugh I love her so much. Loved her wisdom scene with Tenzin, her saving and tlaking to the new airbender guy from the bridge, her hilarious scene with that other loser airbender fomr the basement. Jfefmekrgmrg.
I can't seem to find Rob's Facebook page. Mind if you send me a link to his?
Yes, he is a major and complete raging d-bag, a-hole. I understood where he was coming from in Book 2, however, he should have joined when they asked again. This season he has no reason to complain. He should just go fly a kite.
Hi, I've been a member here a while but have been recently inactive. I saw a couple forums and felt compeled to give my opinion. So I'm back!
But thank you, since I've given the Avatar wiki a hiatus for a few weeks now I've been occupying my time on the Disney wiki and becoming engrosed in new fandoms of mine (like Lord of the Rings) What better time to join that community then with the release of the studios latest animated feature, Frozen. I went to see it and fell in love with it, I identify with Elsa a lot and had to make her my profile image. Frozen, easily joins the ranks of Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and the Lion King in my opinion. I wouldn't say it surpases but it is certainly one of their contemporaries.
I never really got into Disney before, not because I didn't like it but when I was younger I was kind of a book worm. I just recently got really into movies, and when I saw the trailer to Frozen I knew it would be good. So I kind of went on an all out Disney marathon I watched some old ones I hadn't seen in ages, and also some that I never had seen. Tangled wasn't bad, Wreck-It Ralph was pretty good but neither are as good as Frozen. Also, after watching movies from every era of Disney I developed a big respect for them since the sprang back from the Dark Ages, honestly The Black Cauldron was one of the strangest movies I have seen. They went from pioneers, to a period of fails, to a tremendous high, to a lull period and return to grace again. I have a lot of respect for Disney, not to mention they own Marvel and LucasFilm, I feel like I have to love them. hahahah
=O Never got into Disney? That's the saddest thing I've ever heard. Frozen convinced me to actually watch Tangled, and I have to say I was impressed, but your right that Disney has just been up and down a lot. Disney owning LucasFilm (v_v) I don't want to talk about it.
I mean I watched the movies, but I was a rather oblivious child. I didn't really pay attention to who made them, I just knew they existed. I would spend more time watching documentaries and reading than anything else, I'm stranged. :P
I'm not as concerned about them owning LucasFilm. I know a lot of people are, but I am not. Disney knows how to listen, and it is a very conscientious company. I have no judgement to make on the films yet, but I'm not sweating it either.
Hi, Corin. I just wanted to drop by and let you know that edit summaries like this aren't really constructive or helpful. Aside from the fact that it wasn't terribly written, a simple 'inaccurate – prediction was *great* grandchild' would have sufficed. Just please be aware that edit summaries like the one you gave can come off as rude, or even hurtful. There's no need for anything but facts when undoing an edit made by another user in good faith.
I am aware of policy, I have certainly been here long enough to know the do's and dont's. Sometimes I just lose my mind and don't really care. But I would like the record to show I've never given an edit summary like that before in my entire time here.
And then "do you know why it's called Republic City" and that dude says Ahhng and then she asks it again, completley ignoring his elaborated answer XD I wonder which Avatar would win in a fight between Korra and Dora... if Dora asks a question to the audience, then it's like bloodbending all over again, beacuse Korar's frozen up until the mouse clicks on her LMFAO XD
Dog goes woof, cat goes meow, bird goes tweet, and mouse goes squeak. Cow goes moo, frog goes croak, and the elephant goes toot. Ducks say quack, and fish go blub... and the seal goes ow, ow, ow... but there's one sound... that no one knows... WHAT DOES THE FOX SAY?!
I'm happy about Unalaq and Wan Shit Tong either way.
If they're flat out villains, then it gives me something to hate for the lulz XD
If they're tragic, then I can be relieved that Unalaq followed that flow of Water Tribe villains of being tragic and strangely heroic in his own way. Although Yakone broke that trend -_- But I don't count Yakone, anyway, since he was already a freak with the psychic bloodbending, so his whole thing was breaking the norm... but... Water Tribe villains... can never be truly evil >:o Lol haha.
As much as I like Azula, I reaaaaaaally have this new phase lately, where I like putting her in matchups that would get her absolutely slaughtered and make her a dead princess XD Examples: Azula versus Starfire. Azula versus Blackfire (Starfire's sister).
Other than the fact that Blackfire is the older sister, she and Azula have a lot in common: flaunt being the better fighter to their siblings, both princesses, both very bitchy. But Blackfire is, like, pure, flat out evil, not corrupted like Azula. Also, in a fight... Blackfire's freaking Super, Wonder level, what with her planet destroying strength, durability, and beams... and, like, I know so obviously that, in a fight of the royal bratty princesses, Blackfire would swat Azula like a bug and make her regret crying after her defeat at the hands of Katara... but I would just really, really love to see Azula talk shit in her face and get brutally beaten down before she could even finish XD
Ha, this is how I can see a match against Azula and Starfire.
Azula: Ew, weird looking alien. Look like a peasant. Don't talk to a princess like me.
Starfire: *Smiles* YOU'RE A PRINCESS?! ME, TOO! :) I'm the princess of my planet. How about you?
Azula: *Scoffs* You call yourself a princess, you filthy savage?
Starfire: *disappointed face* Hey, that's not nice. I don't like that.
Azula: *charges up and shoots lightning* I'll show you, ignorant savage.
Starfire: *stands there and tanks Azula's lightning like nothing, now gets an angry face* Don't talk to me like that.
Azula *wft expression* DIE, YOU FILTHY SAVAGE *charges up lightning again, shoots it, only to be useless*.
Starfire: *closes the distance and grabs Azula's arms, not realizing that she's crushing them as she holds them with her enormous strength XD* STOP CALLING ME A SAVAGE, LITTLE BLUE FIRE GIRL!
Azula: *in extreme pain and "oh, shit" expression* Starts crying and screaming in pain from Starfire grabbing her arm.
Starfire: *goes back to smiling and giggling like Ty Lee* Oh, sorry, hehe. I'm a little sensitive about those things. *hugs Azula, crushing the rest of her XD*
Azula: *with barely any strength left* o_o A little sensitive? -_-
Asami's back, Bolin's much better, the Team Avatar is reuinted, Unalaq's an asshole, shit just got real with opening the portals and everyone was right about Unalaq and Vaatu fusing, Desna and Eska seem severly brainwashed and like they have hope to change :) Fuck Unalaq, though -_- Makorra seems to be coming back, which I like, but it, in turn, seems to be threatening Asami's strong friendship with Korra, which I value over Makorra... so, I ship either Makorra with everyone being chill, or Korrasami!
I agree, really the only thing I didn't like was that future avatars will not be able to connect to the ones before Korra. But that was the only thing. But the rest of it, I thought I was going to die. I laughed, I cried, I bounced up and down like a toddler, I rocked back and forth and I wanted to throw my computer out a window. It was so great, Korra took avatar to a place ATLA never could.
Nope, I don't watch MAD, I don't know what you are asking me in the middle. No, I haven't read DC comics. :| I'm boring, to be honest I have so much stuff for college and such I only watch The Walkind Dead, Bones, Korra, and Once Upon a Time, other than that I play Netflix in the background just so I don't have to sit in silence. Most of my time is dedicated to school, and Korra. hahah!
Haha, I used to when I had time, but I never have any time any more. It's horrible. Anything you suggest, people keep telling me to watch Adventure Time but I'm not sure about it. I might give it a whirl though. haha
Yeah, it sucks. I'm in college and boy am I busy. It's way better than high school was though, people don't care in college it's great! (lol conflicting statements!)
Well, I'm a hard core Korra fan and the internet is my best friend. I usually find what's going on before a lot of people. I happened across Legend of Dora by acciedent and as you know, it was great! lol
Ohhhhhhhh haha. Yeah, I love the old Cartoon Network :) Still wouldn't call the new one horirble. It's still my favoirte channel, thanks to Adventure Time lol. So, I'd still put it above Nickelodeon in my preference. Cool, so, you ever watched Xiaolin Showdown, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Dexter's Laboratory, Codename: Kids Next Door, The Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Teen Titans, Justice League, Courage: The Cowardly Dog, Looney Tunes, Popeye the Sailorman, and Tom and Jerry? Because guess who did? XD >_>
Oh, haha, not in college, yet! Yay, you're one of my older friends with that elderly advice LOL XD Haha, see, I'm a high school senior senior and applying to and looking for multiple results, and I must say... I'm really liking what I'm seeing! The colleges look awesome, I hate my school (which is my motivation to gtfo of it LMFAO XD) and I'm honestly just waiting to get out of my school and be free (but not exactly free XD) in college lol :D
Ohhhh, haha, yes, yes, it was :D I love MAD! :D But no comedy can trump the TLAB movie, agreed?
Oh, well, same, here, about not watching them in a long time. Man, wasn't that the best childhood ever? :D
OMG YES SOUNDS GREAT :D Aw, thanks a lot :) Haha yeah! Man, I can't wait! Yeah, high school's so annoying. Again, lol, the reason why I do well in school is becuase I motivate myself by the hatred that I have for it. Like "gotta get out of here, so, gotta do well" lmfao -_- Ugh, can't wait for college :D Thanks for the good luck, though :)
Lmfaoooooooo yessssss :D
Did you know the fox song before I sang/linked it you? XD
I know, 90's kids had the best TV shows. :) We are so luck to be 90's kids. :)
Anytime, trust me it gets so much better. Besides, you don't tell me about high school, been there, done that. You are talking to a small town kid, in a small town school. High School is aweful, you'll be glad when you are rid of it. How is your 'senioritis' right now? Lost all ambition yet? If not you will! hahah! xD
What does the fox say? Yeah, I freaking love that song!
You know what pisses me tf off? Alright, so, we get Deus Ex Machina like this whole energybending mess. Then, we get Mako getting a last minute, rushed, plot induced lightning bolt onto Noatak. Then, Korra also quickly catching Noatak offguard, and having the plot by her side so that she doesn't lose in order to knock around Noatak enough to partially resist his bloodbending and air kick him out the window. So, if we can have that much Bullshit Ex Machina... then I think that it would be pretty fair to add back some Deus Ex Machina to bring back Korra's past lives. I mean, Aang at the end of Season 2 encountered the exact same problem, remember? He'd lost his connection to his past lives, but then got it back through some trips to the Spirit World. So, I want and hope for a restoration in her connection. You?
Blahaha! Deus ex Machina is just a part of avatar, I don't even get mad anymore. But I will say that while I do want Korra to some how restore her connection to the past avatars I don't think it will affect the show all that much.
Eh, haha. Tbh, I loved seeing the past lives appear in A:TLAB, which Aang honestly did depend on a lot. I do think that Korra's more badass than Aang, in that she handles her own shit usually, without taking too much advice, but it annoys me. I loved when Roku and Kyoshi would take over Aang's body and guide him and help him fight. It was beautiful. I was actually pretty disappointed by the lack of past lives' appearances, though :/ Haha, agreed on the Deus Ex Machina, though ;)
I'm super tired and don't want to nearly pass out like I did today in school, so, ttyl :)
Meeee toooooo on her coming back D: She's my favorite female character from A:TLAB, alongside Katara :) Personally, I love how well the two complement each other :D
Do you also hope her for get a redemption?
Which Avatar show do you prefer? Believe it or not, I prefer TLOK.
Isn't it quite interesting that Kuruk faced a Big Bad in the spiritual oasis of his native tribe, Kyoshi faced a Big Bad from her native kingdom, Roku faced a Big Bad from his native country, and that Korra, in Season 1, faced two Big Bads of her ethnicity, and, in Season 2, one big bad also of her ethnicity? So, Aang's the only Avatar who faced a human Big Bad not native to his land :o
I'm not looking for a full redemption, but I want a step in the opposite direction from where she has been going. Her story is so tragic really, I love Azula.
I really don't like answering that question because each is so great.
LoK takes avatar to a place ATLA never could. And ATLA had perfect timing, perfect character building, etc. I think both are great, but I will only say ATLA as we have not seen half of Korra, and I say that only to give an answer, trust me the two are very close in my heada nd heart.
I know, I think Korra, now that she is spiritualy aware will surpase Aang in avatar quality. I much prefer Korra as an avatar than Aang. Korra is a pretty amazing character.
I agreeeeeeee :D Also, I liked how Katara left her alive and felt for her in the end :') Azula's story really is tragic, and what sucks is that she didn't express herself, because she hated the idea of self expression, because Ozai had brainwashed her into thinking that it was weakness :( But I agree. On the bright side, aren't you happy that Katara and Aang showed genuine empathy for her in the end and said that they saw a good side to her and saw a chance for her improving? :)
Oh, haha, yeah, I agree. Mind changed. Not really comparable ;)
I also prefer Korra to Aang... plus, Korra's hot LMFAO XD But you know which Avatar I prefer to them both. Dora. How about you?
Yes, yes, she is :D Besides, if Ozai, Yakone's sons, or Vaatu attacked her, then Dora would turn towrd the screen and say "can you spot the villain?" and then, when the mouse clicks on the villain, then Dora bends at them until it's too late for them LOL XD
Not on right now and I would join you but I'm just popping in to say hello to some people, I have 18 people coming to my house tomorrow and trying to get all my ducks in a row on top of playing catch up on school junk.
Oh, sorry, didn't say that to sound mean. Just because it's like amazingly beautifully tragic haha. Sorry if I made yuo too sad :( I love Azula, too, though :D
Yesss, I really, really hope not -_- No offense, but I hate the stupid love triangles. they ruin EVERYTHING -_- Honestly, I can't stand Mako anymore lmfao. I hope that his character just fades away :P He and Korra are too dysfunctional and, quite frankly, Asami should have enough self respect not to go back to him -_- Agreed?
You know what I loved about Katara? How, at the end, she put down Azula without killing or mocking her :) In all truthfulness, unlike 90% of the fandom, I do not like Zuko. Lol. You can even take a look at my profile for further investigation ;) But were you, like, sad/mad that I sent that video haha?
It didn't make me sad, it made me feel worse for Azula.
I agree, no more love triangles! Why would I be offended that you don't want more love triangles, niether do I?
Really!? I like Mako, most of the problems this season were of Korra's creation. But the love triangle was quite forced. I think the writers are kind of, stupid. But per Asami, I agree. Also, why the hell has she been pushed aside so much?
I agree, Katara handled it very well, props to her. :)
You know I have found that there is a portion of the fandom that doesn't like Zuko, I think you're all really off base and silly! :........................Just kidding hahah!
I was sad about the video, not that you sent it, but it made me sad...Well, not really, I was affected very little actually, but it did tug on that area of emotion so I sent an appropriate answer.
Yeah, you're right. It just bothers me how, every time that Korra and Asami are getting along, something to do with Mako causes slight beef between them. I like Korra and Asami both a lot more than him, so, honestly, I want less screetime for him. Personally, I think that Korroh (Korra+Iroh) would be a pretty sweet ship :D How about you? However, I do not want for them to go overboard lol -_-
Yeah, Katara's such a nice person unlike that stupid Zuzu XD
Yeah lmfao that's why I love this site :D Because I get so sick of Zuzu and his fanbase, and it feels nice to finally meet people who also don't like him XD Psssh offbase :P
Ohhhh, alright, got it.
Yeah, those videos really are heart tugging :( I think that "Stand In The Rain" is a great song for, both, Azula and Katara. And, since Azula didn't express herself, I think that "if she cries that first tear... then the tears will not stop raining down" and it's so true, because she almost broke down like that in "The Beach", but stopped herself, and, in fearing expressing herself, she went literally crazy :( Man, I really want a redemption for her lol.
Oh, alright. Yeah, I always edit stuff on other wikis for the same reason! Man, I also have that same problem of having to fix stuff on other wikis, because their standards or at least activity, have dropped majorly -______-
LMFAO haha wasn't that how we became friends? XD You know, I was like "creeping" through your profile or whatever haha, and, like, damn, there used to be all these cool users on here, and now they're inactive :( It's so sad lol. It seems like you were here for a while XD
Yeah it is how we met! hahah! But yeah, there used to be a bunch of really cool people here. When I first got here I hit it off with them pretty easily. Those were the good ole days, before the no more nony rule happened. To tell you the truth I miss it. Anyway, I don't know where they all are now, I miss them. But it also allows me to meet new awesome people, present company included.
There was some law that passed about children and the internet so the wiki had to enact a policy that excluded anonymous users from editing, meaning that the wiki experienced and influx of users of various ages, some I'm sure under the age of 14. This created a lot of bad edits and stupid comments and messages. Before that happened it was the users, and the nonies. The users didn't like nonies usually, lots of trolling. So it was an us against them sceneario. Anyway, I think that, and the long wait period between books scared most of the old users away.
Lol aw haha damn. Now, I wish that I'd been on here longer to be all cool and hang with you guys LOL XD I talked to this one user, Mysteria Femina, and then she just disappeared XD I talked to her for, like, a day on one thread XD
Lol haha. Yeeah, it's kind of sad to think that all these awesome old users with whom I never got to socialize just went inactive and only got on IRC. So, these people left because of the nonies versus users war?
Not because of a war really, users, I'm not going to lie, were kind of mean to nonies, then all the nonies became useres, inlcuding the stupid nonies so there was still trolling and a bunch of dumb stuff.
Anyway, my semester just ended, now I am sitting here staring into the abyss that is my desk contemplating going through it. Only problem is every time I get up, it is cold. I'm totally energized to do it, but I don't want to be cold hahah. Winter sucks.
Haha it's also freezing over here. Do you also live on the East Coast haha? Because I do, and, yes, it is freaking cold as hell over here -_- But, surprisingly, I actually really, really like winter. haha your birthday is in winter, anyway :P Which means that you would be a waterbender XD If not, then a firebender, because the seasons are interchangeable along the hemispheres, and it is currently summer in the Southern Hemisphere lol. Man, just one more week before my winter break :) Haha I'm so happy, because my older sister's home, and, now, we are all just chilling and having fun haha :D So, you're going home, now, because your break just ended haha?
You know what I like about Avatar Dora as opposed to Korra and normal Dora? That she never loses fights, unlike Korra, who does lose. And, on the other hand, instead of being annoying and ditzy like normal Dora, Avatar Dora shoots straight to the point. She tells it like it is. When she tells you that you're going down, then you know damn well that you are going down XD She's all like "that's it you, basura, no ifs and buts, you're going down". Man, Ozai,, Unalaq, and Amon would stand no chance against her XD Am I right? XD
Wow, super late reply, sorry. I can finally talk because I am free!!!!
Yeah, I live in New York, it is freezing, right now it is 13 degrees here. I hate winter, I don't function well in it. Trust me, I'd certainly be a firebender, I always loved water but fire suits my personality haaha. You sound like you are having fun, I often wish I had siblings, but I don't so I'm just going to chill, and celebrate my birthmas in peace hahah!
Korra does lose a lot. That needs to be fixed, Dora never loses!!!
It's okay. Lol that post to which you replied was the last time that I posted on here LOL XD But, tests are over, and I'm free. Guess who finally got his first college acceptance into his #5 choice of school? :D Now, if my top choices fail, then at least I have something nice on which to fall back :D Man lol I just want to be so done with school now XD
Congrats, I've decided to take a year off and re-evaluate what I am doing. Health Care maybe safe, but not sure if it is for me. Also, last semester was pretty much a bust for me anyway, my academic advisor screwed me over. Word of the wise, know what classes you need for your degree, your academic advisor is not going to help you.
Anyway, what's new, let's talk about something nerdy or irrelevent to life, I need a distraction hahah!
Haha yeah, at the moment, I'm looking into either business or physics (I know, completely unrelated majors LOL XD). Oh, wow, thanks for that heads up :) But damn that sucks -_- Haha I'm also thinking about psychology. In all honesty, I still do not know my major for sure, but I've heard many stories from older friends about how they successfully changed their majors in school, so, it works, right? :D
Lol haha yes :D Well, just chilling now that I have no more for which to study -_- Waiting for more college acceptances :D If you remember anything from the epic DC shows on Cartoon Network, or, better yet, if you've read the comics, then what are your views on the Teen Titans and Justice League? I LOVE :D This is going to sound weird, but I love the amount of kickass ladies in, both, DC and Marvel lol haha.
Oh yeah, people change majors all the time, I don't know what the hell to do. What I really want to do is anthropology but it is a very difficult area to be in. So I will minor in it, however, I was going to do radiology but I don't like health care so now I am kind of lost, so I don't know.
I only ever watched teen titans, and to be honest I remember very little about it. haha.
Oh, alright. Well, it honestly feels great t get insight from a college student haha :) And you're not too much older than me (only one year, anyway), so, the gap is not too big for you to give me sufficient advice ;)
It's cool :D
BREAK'S COMING! :D
I want MAD to do a parody of bloodbending and Zuko's relationship with Azula ;)
Oh, nice :D Did you miss the cutoff date or something haha?
Yes I love MAD and I love TLOK lol XD
Btw, I have some important news. I am no longer a leopard XD When I said roar and that I was one to my dream crushing girlfriend, then she said, "no, you're not" and I said, "my mama told me that I could be whatever I wanted to be" and she said "she lied. You were never a leopard" and I was like :(((( LOLOL XD
You know, I really disagree with the generally accpeted notion that Azula is a sociopath, because she actually has tendencies opposite to what sociopaths exhibit. Sociopaths act superficially charming and don't feel real emotions. They don't go crazy or hallucinate, because they think rationally. They act like they have emotions, but they don't. Azula is the exact opposite. She acts like a flat, void of character, emotionless bitch and tries to appear as such in public. She even threatened Ty Lee into working with her. And, when Mai said that she loved Zuko more than she feared Azula, then Azula said "you should've feared me more", not something like "Fear? No, we're beat friends. I want you around because I care about you, Mai." A sociopath would've said something like that or, "How could you say that I use fear to control you? Are you saying that I don't really care about you?" Azula acted as emotionless, but really had too many repressed emotions that drove her to insanity. Also, her "charm" was barely there. She only fooled Zuko, who's not exactly the brightest. Mai, Ty Lee, and Iroh all knew that she worked on fear. When she tried to charm guys at the beach, then we saw just how well that went over -_- Azula made it appear as if she didn't care about anyone and only used people for her dirty work, but she did care and, because she continuously repressed the fact that she cared, she went insane. Thus, I declare "sociopath" a fallacious term for Azula
I plan on chilling with all 34 sides of my brain. Lol, I never thought of that, maybe your favorite number is the sides of your brain. As I do feel in another life I was a voice actor, and voice actors often say 'the voices in their heads' maybe 34 is the number of voices in my head lol. Sorry, I'm really into thinking deeply about things right now. Perhaps, overthinking. lol
I am getting caught up on the Walking Dead, Voice #17 doesn't like Zombie things though, I wish he'd shut up. He won't stop saying, "Change the channel! I wanna watch Cake Boss." Then voice #26 has already seen it and is giving me spoilers. Pfft, I wish they could all just shuddup and agree for once. #irritated
Not fun at all -_- It's annoying lol. Would I really want to be doing this right now lol? Nah, I would like to just chill. In all honesty, though, I just want to be done with school, now lol.
LMFAOOOOOOOO that's awesome :D I've actually never watched it, but I've
heard great things about it, so, I need to get on that lol! Haha was that last paragraph supposed to be a ":P"? Because I hate how the wiki doesn't let us start sentences with colons from the margin -_- Lol.
In which order did you like these three channels: Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and Disney? For me, CN beats Nick by a hair, then Nick stomps all over Disney. CN>Nick>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>old Disney=shit>Current Disney XD
LMFAOOOOOO agreed XD Well, swamp CN and Nick for my preference lol.
Very true :) You know, I've been wondering for a while why only the Fire Nation used its strongest firebenders in order to determine the Royal Family of the Fire Nation. I mean, other than Roku, Sozin was pretty much the strongest firebender of his time. It makes no sense to me that the Fire Nation Royal Family gets decided through power, whereas the ruler of the Earth Kingdom does not. But, now that I think about, if we look at the chiefs of the Water Tribes, it was not always dictated by power. For example, take Yue's father. He was not as strong a waterbender as Master Pakku. Pakku, however, was not Chief. But then it makes me wonder, because Unalaq and Tonraq are both pretty damn strong waterbenders and they were the new Royal Family of the Northern Water Tribe. Although I still wonder, because Unalaq was a pretty damn good waterbender. However, so were Tarrlok and Noatak. I mean, without the Dark Avatar stuff, didn't Korra hand Unalaq his ass in a few blows? Whereas Tarrlok and Noatak repeatedly handed Korra her ass. In her defense, though, she was not as strong as them. But I agree about the Royal Family not usually depending on strength. Because I personally would put Yakone's family far above the Northern Water Tribe Royal Family of Unalaq and Tonraq, but Yakone's family was not royalty. I guess that their family became really wealthy and all in Republic City, but that's about it. So, in total, I think that only the Fire Nation was the one who used power to determine leaders. What do you think?
You know, after reading a superb essay in a debate with my friend on here, TheUltimateWaterbender, I don't really hate Zuko anymore. I mean, I just get annoyed when he gets more credit over other characters. What I liked about her essay was that it did not give Zuko credit over the characters as if his moves were somehow more epic or something. I respect and kind of like him :) I just don't like giving him more credit than the other characters, because it's not fair to the other ones. However, after talking to people who acknowledge what a numbskull he's been in the past and how he double crossed many important and kind people, I no longer hate Zuko. I like and respect him, but no more than the other characters :)
Sorry it took so long, I was ill when I got this last night and my brain was not going to function. hahah
Anyway, the politics of Avatar kind of fascinate me so I think about it a bit. So here is what I think.
Like you said the Fire Nation values power and strength and the Royal family is suppose to be the epitome of power and firebending prowess. I think perhaps you might be confused with historically and presently in the nation. Like in most countries that have, or had, monarchies the origin is usualy diffined by one thing. The leader who united the different tribes or families or yadda yadda yadda. The person who unites the fudeing sides, like what happened in England, becomes the king and usually the person who does the uniting is the strongest.
We know that the Fire Nation has gone through different dynastys and the royal family is the strongest line of benders, especially since Ursa introduced the Avatar blood line into the mix. So the Fire Nation, in a round-about sort of way, still is based on the strength of its leader.
The Earth Kingdom is a different story, they have a totally different goverment system and we know very little about the history of the Earth Kingdom. Like the Fire Nation the Earth Kingdom's monarchy could have been derived from power based leaders but eventually the prowess that they once had was genetically ousted, though most likely not intetionaly. The Fire Nation went through dynastys, different families (though the exact nature is ambiguous,) This may not be the case with the Earth Kingdom, they may have never been different familes and it is a clear distinct line from the present, to the first rulers. Also, since we do not know how the monarchy arised in the EK, it could be that they were elected leaders (kind of like the pope) but then their children took over after wards. There are countries that have a hybrid between an elected monarchy and inherited monarchy. This could be the EK.
Like the EK the Water Tribe could work similarly or it could work like the FN, straight on inherited positions but like the EK, we know very little. We know this isn't the case for the Southern Water Tribe as it is my understanding Hakoda was elected and we know Tonraq was as well. The North could be different. It was hinted that Yue would inhiret after Arnook but her husband would be the chief, kind of like historic Scotland. And Tonraq would have taken over for his father if he wasn't banished, but we know Unalaq did pick it up after the death of the father. That hints to me that the North works like the FN, inherited and kept in the family. Father, passes to child, and so on and so on. We know the North tended to be sexist and valued males over women. So for an example: Arnook passes, Yue marrys Han, they take over but Han is chief despite the Royalty being from Yue's blood.
Now the next logical step would be bridging the gap between Arnook to Korra's grandfather. Since the North seems to inherit I could see Korra's grandfather being a nephew or a cousin of Arnook. Like what happened in England, after Queen Elizabeth I death the crown went to her Aunt's great grandson as he was closest to the throne, as Elizabeth had no remaining siblings, nor did she have children. The crown went from her to her father's (Henry VIII) sister Mary Tudor, who had married the King of Scotland, James IV, but since she and James IV, their son James V and their granddaughter Mary, Queen of Scots were dead the crown went to Elizabeth's 3rd cousin James VI, king of Scotland and now England and Wales as well. Did you follow all that hahaha? I know the royal stuff can get confusing.
Oh my, you had a come to Zuko moment!? (Jesus pun intended) I've always liked Zuko but I understand where you come from about over crediting him more than the other characters. Just between you and me I feel very similarly about Aang, that is kind of why I love the idea that he was a sucky dad, knocks down the Aang worshipers a lot. hahaha But that is awesome, personaly I think all the characters are delightful but some do over value some over the others, which is annoying.
It's okay lol :) In fact, I'm sorry for taking this long haha.
Perhaps that is true about the Fire Nation. But, also, even back before the Fire Nation went all evil, we saw in Roku's flashback that Sozin was a very good firebender, himself. In fact, Sozin attacked Roku, despite getting owned and the attack being a surprise, with a huge flame attack. I mean, that was a monstrous attack. Indeed, Roku countered it well, but Roku is also the Avatar. Also, when they were younger, before Roku knew that he was the Avatar, Sozin would always gain the upper hand on him in their friendly firebending practice. Thus, maybe your uniting thing is true, but I definitely think that they look at power in the Fire Nation. I mean, they did make a sport out of killing their own original source of firebending hehe.
Yes, yes, it is lol. I mean, before Sozin, the Fire Nation was obviously a peaceful place with people who loved the idea of balance. In fact, only Chin threatened the balance, so far as we know, before Sozin's time. So, I agree that unification was most probably a core value of becoming the leader of the Fire Nation haha.
To be honest, the Earth King, himself, so far as we've seen in A:TLAB, is quite oblivious, powerless, and dependent on his guards, like the Dai Li haha. I mean, remember how Kuei didn't know anything about the political issues in Ba Sing Se and Azula being a Kyoshi Warrior until it was too late? Even the Earth King during Kyoshi's time was pretty dependent, if you think about it. Do you get what I'm saying? He ordered the guards to seize Kyoshi and, after she effortlessly swatted them, he was helpless and pathetic against her. Power is definitely not a thing. I mean, otherwise, freaking Bumi would be ruling not his city, but the entire Earth Kingdom lol XD But, in short, I tend to agree with you that the Earth Kingdom hierarchy is rather ambiguous and esoteric in terms of how it actually works. Haha hopefully this season will give more insight :D Agreed?
Yes, the North did tend to be sexist. You know what I wonder, though? Does the North also value power in order to determine its leader the way that the Fire Nation does? Remember how Katara is the daughter of the Southern Chief? I mean, she's a pretty damn strong waterbender, although she's from the South Pole lol. I guess that, like how Combustion Man is the only firebender who can fight well against most members of the Fire Nation Royal Family, like the elite like Iroh, Azula, Ozai, etc., Tarrlok and Noatak are the few waterbenders who are stronger than Unalaq and Tonraq haha. I think that the North also functions on power, because, except for a few exceptions here and there, it seems that the Royal Family of the North consisted of the strongest waterbenders around, like Unalaq. So, I think that the North functions on power, like how the FN does. Just my two cents lol :) Hehe isn't it cool how the opposite elements, fire and water, function similarly? They parallel each other XD Like how Katara and Azula are parallel lol.
Haha I did follow :) No worries :D That does make sense. And I also think that Korra is a descendant of Arnook, because there's no reason to think that there is a new Royal Water Tribe Family. Know what I'm saying? I actually thought, for a while, that Tarrlok might be a distant cousin of Unalaq, because have you noticed their uncanny resemblance? I mean, I guess that, since they're both from the same part of the world, they look alike. Kind of like how Korra looks like young Katara and Noatak's and Tarrlok's mom looks like Katara's mom. But I kind of wish that we'd gotten to know whether Unalaq had any kind of association with Tarrlok, because the two looked alike, were both kind of devious in their roles, and both hailed from the Northern Water Tribe. Although Tarrlok is awesome, rather than devious, because he was just misled :P
I mean, I don't want to refer to it as that, because I'm still not crazy about Zuko. In all honesty, I still like him generally less in comparison to the other characters, especially since he's rather slow and dimwitted, but he's getting there. He's average imo. I don't see him as anything special. If I hear anyone put him down, then I won't rush to defend him, like how I would with Katara. Actually, you know what I hate? How a lot of fans don't like Katara and think that she's a bitch or something. Some people hate her for defeating Azula. And usually these people hate Zuko. It's funny, because, without Katara, the future Firelord would have been Azula -_- She saved him. Also, I ahte when they call her whiny, because her whininess is absolutely nothing in comparison to Zuko's. And her problems were pretty major. I mean, the girl was the last freaking waterbender of her tribe, had a ship haunting her tribe since her childhood, and had her mother literally scorched to death in order to keep her life safe. Zuko, on the other hand, grew up as a prince on the winning side of the war with some emotional problems. Thus, I don't exactly love Zuko, but, before, he was a 1 from 1-10 on my character list, but, now, he's a 5 haha.
Speaking of ratings from 1-10, what do you overall rate CN, Nick, and Disney? For me, it's:
It really bothers me, though, that Disney makes more money and has more popularity than the other two combined -_-
Since pages are normally created with the references already on them and since they aren't added yet, it was easy to assume that you had forgotten about them, hence the message. If you hadn't, then that's great.
What I found helpful when I first started referencing was going to a similar page, copy and pasting the references from there and then just changing all the parameters. Because I found that trying to write them out from scratch was not gonna work xD
You could also just note the sources on the edit summary? I'm sure if referencing is something you don't enjoy, someone else would be willing to add them right on given the links and such :)
3) Because people are saying Nicktoons does not get a lot of views and there was this show called The House of Onubis that got moved to TeenNick that was suppose to run for 4 seasons but got canceled after season three's rating were bad.
Just wait to see how it plays out. I've learned Nick is the only site to trust. They have not said anything about it and if they were to make a change like that they would need to advertise it like..right now.
