The Kyoshi Warriors dress in heavy, dress-like armor and wear face paint while on duty. This uniform is made to resemble the attire that Avatar Kyoshi wore in her life.

The Kyoshi Warriors use a set of two metal fans in imitation of Avatar Kyoshi. They wield these fans in conjunction with a specialized fighting style that is based on the concept of turning an opponents energy against them and exploiting openings. These implements are used for defense, but they can also be thrown elliptically as boomerangs, or propelled as projectiles. These fans are the primary weaponry of the Kyoshi Warriors, and are usually used first in battle.

The Kyoshi Warriors each carry a round retractable shield. They can combine their shields to protect their entire unit. The combined shields are capable of withstanding a fire blast from Azula. They bear the likeness of the Earth Kingdom's emblem.

Each of the Kyoshi Warriors carries a Katana (sword). However, it is not a popular weapon to use.
