"That's what any mother would say, ma'am. Nonetheless, you're forewarned. If he acts up one more time, I'll have him sent to reform school... by which I mean the coal mines. Are we clear?"

The Headmaster is the senior teacher at the Fire Nation School in which Aang enrolled during "The Headband". He has one of the most important jobs in the Fire Nation - or at least he thinks so - maintaining order and discipline so that young Fire Nation minds can be properly molded.
[edit] History
The Headmaster tricked by the students
Before he was headmaster, he was a drill sergeant in the army and much of what he learned there, he uses today. Any disorderly child must be immediately dealt with, in other words, sent to the coal mines for "rehabilitation." Nothing makes him happier than when a father talks about punishing an unruly child.
After Aang "beats-up" fellow-student Hide, the Headmaster comes to the Courtyard. When he sees Hide laying on the ground he informs Aang that he is punished with a parent-teacher conference. The Headmaster is tricked into believing that Sokka and Katara (Mr. and Mrs. Fire) are his parents after they dress up. The Headmaster is then informed by Hide that Aang is throwing a dance party in his cave. When he arrives, it is impossible for him to catch the real Aang because all the student dress up like him to help Aang escape. The plan worked, and Aang and his crew escape.
