A Giant Beetle

Giant Beetles are so named for their size. They are used by the Beetle-Head Merchants as pack animals and for transport. The Giant Beetle also as much cultural significance to Beetle-Head Merchants. Their favorite environment and climate is the humidity of the Si Wong Desert, and they come from there, although it is likely that they can survive in other climates.

This creature is a giant insect with a large green shell that protects it. It has small black eyes and, like all insects, it has six legs. Giant Beetles are found in the hot Si Wong Desert. These creatures have been domesticated, however. They are used like oxen to pull large, heavy loads (like Appa). They were used by the desert merchants who bought Appa.

Giant Beetles are seen in "Appa's Lost Days."

The Giant Beetle is just a huge version of our common beetle. Probably a rhinoceros beetle.
