We can't prove that the airbender in the opening sequence is Aang.

I beleive that the Unnamed Airbender in the opening sequence of Avatar: The Last Airbender is in fact Aang due some evidence from Avatar Extras. In Avatar Extras: "The Boy in the Iceberg", when Aang is shown encased in ice, it displays the messages: "First time Aang appears in the entire series" & "If you don't count the intro." If you recall, the intro for "The Boy in the Iceberg" is different from the rest in the series and the only character that could possibly be Aang is the shadowed figure airbending.
Below are some screenshots from Avatar Extras that display the messages. The intro, as well as the entire episode, can be found on nick.com.
Well unless we see Aang with a mustache, I don't support it. Avatar Extras aren't always correct. TrulyFerret(a •) 21:17, June 28, 2012 (UTC)
Pointing out that Avatar extras aren't necessarily canon. Many of them have been disproven or have been jokes. And the Extra could have been referring to the more commonly used opening sequence where Aang is in it multiple times. Plus I think he's way too tall to be Aang.... Here you go. I apologize for the low-quality and poor lighting, but if you look closely you can see that there is definitely a mustache on that guy. TrulyFerret(a •) 02:14, June 29, 2012 (UTC)
The only problem with it being one of those guys is that Mr. Mustache wears airbender trainee clothing. Which suggests he isn't a high monk. TrulyFerret(a •) 16:45, June 29, 2012 (UTC)
I would like to point out that I remember the pants on the mystery airbender looking different from Aang's pants, in addition to the moustache. ~Mysteria Femina~(wall • Girl Genius talk) 23:37, July 1, 2012 (UTC)
And I would also like to point out adult Aang has no mustache. Further pushing this into speculative territory. Vulmen(talk • EoK) 03:11, July 2, 2012 (UTC)
Aang is definitely in the intro; he is there at the end when Katara says "But I believe Aang can save the world", so the Avatar Extras don't prove anything...
There was a special intro in episode one which didn't include Aang. However it is highly likely that the creator of these such extras actually forgot about that, which is why I believe that this is all just speculation that it is anyone we know. Gyatso, Pasang, Aang, etc. TrulyFerret(a •) 20:25, July 2, 2012 (UTC)
Avatar Extra's has made errors before, and there is too much evidence against it being Aang (like the fact he has a moustache) to just assume AE was right this time. For now, keep it as undetermined. HAMMEROFTHOR 20:34, July 2, 2012 (UTC)
I thought the same thing in the beginning but evidence proves otherwise.... {{SUBST:Magicstar351/Sig}}
